I came all the way to the Flushing Night Out event to try these and also buy Taiwanese nougat from Oh! Nougat. The texture is somewhat chewy and QQ like a mochi, but crispy on the outside. I actually though it would be more QQ than it was, but it still had somewhat a texture of a waffle. So more like half regular waffle, half mochi texture. We ordered a red bean, vanilla, and matcha, all drizzled with nutella. The red bean does kind of overwhelm the texture, but I like red bean so I didn't mind. I didn't like the matcha flavor at all. Not sure how to describe it, but it had a strange somewhat rotten flavor. My favorite was the vanilla because you could best get the texture of the mochi and taste of a waffle that way. We originally wanted to order the chocolate chip, but there weren't any left. Apparently it was so hot, the chocolate chips melted together. The waffles weren't freshly made to order, but they were still somewhat lukewarm. If they were fresh, I'd imagine they'd be even more delicious. These are kind of expensive. You can get 1 for $5 or 3 for $12, but each one is kind of small, so might as well get the 3 for $12. Still what a creative idea. I can't wait to try to make these at home. So far they're only at the Queens International Night Market and the Flushing Night Out events. Hopefully, they will have a more permanent location in the future.

Such a yummy food pop up! I ate from this spot at the Jersey City Eats fest this past weekend and was in pure food happiness coma. The two things we tried were great. We ordered the rose hibiscus Moffle with ice cream and the chicken and Moffle. The waffle is soooo soft and fluffy. With the chicken and Moffle the chicken was cooked perfectly and the fry batter is light and flaky. They top it with a sriracha sauce which has just the right amount of kick so that it doesn't overpower the dish but adds a touch of flavor. The portion sizes were great for the price and it definitely satisfied my hunger! The ice cream they use is so delicious and creamy for the dessert moffles . Idk what kind of ice cream this is but it has the best texture and flavor! The rose hibiscus Moffle was so tasty and they even top it with beautiful edible flowers! It looks just as good as it tastes!

Just for the record - I am basing my review on take out, not going to the restaurant to sit down…read moreand eat. I want to love this place. I want to give this place a stellar review - but alas, with the items that I have gotten, I cannot. I've ordered from Dumpling Dojo a few times and have gotten different things each time. Their menu is filled with delicious-sounding entrees that have a unique spin, different from typical Chinese places. In addition, all the food is definitely made fresh using real ingredients. So what's the problem? Well...they do not season some of their food items properly - specifically, the sides / veggie entrees. The best thing about typical Chinese food restaurants is the preparation and sauce that goes along with the food - and as someone who does not cook their own Chinese food, I look forward to the sticky-sweet, savory flavors that Chinese-American food is associated with. I find that Dumpling Dojo lacks that. On the plus side, their General Tso's chicken is some of the best I've ever had - and their dumplings are solid. Not amazing, but solid (although I liked them better crisped up in the air fryer the next day). But the other things I've had just simply lacked flavor. For example, I ordered their veggie fried rice and found it incredibly bland and mushy. It was great heated up and doctored, but I want that experience out of the gate. I also ordered their lomein veggie bowl - man, what a disappointment! Basically, I received a container of steamed vegetables and boiled noodles - no sauce or anything. Again, if I put my own spin on it, it would be fine - but when I order out, I don't want to season my own food. It should be prepared as it. Also, I had the short rib buns and they were ok. The sweet potato fry topper was really stale and stiff, and the coleslaw seemed droopy and old - but it was fine. The delivery has also always come very quick, which is a plus as well. However, I don't want to order from a place where the food is hit-and-miss.

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. In an era where genuine hospitality feels increasingly rare, Perry single-handedly restored my faith that quality service is not extinct. Warm, attentive, and authentically kind, Perry makes every guest feel seen, welcome, and cared for--without pretense or attitude. This is food that nourishes, service that uplifts, and a place that keeps you coming back not just for the flavors, but for how it makes you feel. A true neighborhood treasure.

Mediocre food and very slow service!…read more This place was a disappointment for what I hoped from a highly rated ramen place in the area. The service was quite slow, almost waited 1 hour for entrees to be brought to the table. It's a small place with limited staff working everything. The food was fairly basic. The fried rice seemed to be bland and below par despite ordering the spicy version. My friend who ordered the ramen liked the soup but the meat was not fully cooked and felt chewy.
