I enjoyed this venue a lot, it's very classy, inside and out. I sat at the bar during my visit, which made it easier to see the menu and order. The staff were very helpful with recommendations, but one of the beers I ordered was too on the tart side. Still, an excellent visit. Even the too tart Belgian beers are better than anything I can get in the states. Recommend.

Great (mostly sour, mostly Belgian) beer selection. Really good charcuterie plate. Chill vibes. I was only in Brussels for 2 days and I'm a huge beer person. A friend told me this was a good place to hang out for a few hours in between work things. He was totally right. They had 20--30 beers on tap with a focus on local and good sour Belgian beers. I had at least one Cantillion while I was there. I also had a hefty afternoon snack of the charcuterie plate while I was there. I'd definitely come back. My only regret is that I was there by myself and thus couldn't drink as many different beers as I would have liked. The service was also incredibly fast, friendly and spoke perfect English.

We ended up being in Brussels for Cantillon's Zwanze Day Festival, and booked tickets in advance, and Moeder was one of the few bars in the city that was tapping the 2024 Cantillon Zwanze beer. It was such an experience! There were beer tents outside, live music and lots of great beer flowing. We ended up getting 2 seats at the booth, and the servers were very attentive despite how busy they were. The ambience was also super nice - I liked all of the decor. We didn't end up getting food here but we were right near the small prep kitchen and the food looked pretty good coming out. If you're into lambic beer this is definitely the place for you!

If you only have one day in Brussels and are situated around the City Center only, Moeder Lambic is the sole beer bar you need to visit. You'll find the ever constant Belgian beer, but a multitude of the famed Brussels-born lambic styles. It is strange that you would not have time to wander over to Cantillon, but under the special circumstances you are unable, then Moeder Lambic possesses an obscene number of rare finds in the form of vintage Cantillon on their bottle list. We had a sweet bottle of Fou Foune 2017 at 40 euros. Of course, there are plenty of beer on tap too. I do like that you are able to order a partial pours (25cl) to just sample. The bar is clean and inviting; not divey in the least. If you are hungry, they have small bites. A perfect little beer bar to pass your night away.

If you want Belgian beer, this is definitely one of the spots to go. They have a good variety to choose from and can order 25ml pours in case you want to try some. There were a lot to choose from so I asked the waiter for some recommendations. The recommendations I got were decent, I enjoyed their normal Belgians and blondes over their IPAs. It sounded like most of their IPAs weren't juicy, more hoppy. I tried their Primativo 031 IPA which was a little hoppy. I enjoyed the Meileurs Voeux winter ale with its slightly amber flavors and a little hint of crispness. Overall when they say Belgium beers are good, they aren't wrong. I definitely want to come back and try the other beers!

Our first stop in Brussels and one of our favorite places to get great beer. The beer choices were top notch and tasty. I don't think Belgium makes any bad beer, though, so what makes this place shine is the ambience and the long list of choices. We sat outside in an area that was a little tucked away from the crowd but still had a chill buzz going. I admit that I do not know much about beer, but my husband does, so he did the ordering, we shared them all, and everything was delicious. He also rated each (in parentheses 1-5) in Untappd. We had the Guldenberg Belgian Tripel (4.00), the Saison de Bruxelles (3.50), La Moederation, Belgian Strong Golden Ale (4.00), Troubadour Magma Belgian IPA (4.25), Moeder Supérieure Brown Ale (3.75), and Nath Lambic (4.00). Those are some pretty good scores. The choices for food were quite limited, which may have been a blessing. We did order a couple of the cheese plates for sustenance while drinking and we would likely have stayed here all night had there been food, but instead we discovered a lovely Syrian restaurant across the road when hunger was undeniable. A great place for great beer. A little bit more food (and I do mean vegetarian-friendly) would put this place over the top! Cannot believe I forgot to take photos.

I came in here with my wife. The selection of beers on tap was good. A bunch of lambics to choose from, as well as other styles.

I'm not a huge beer person, or this place would have gotten five stars. I am a fan of the layout and ambiance of this beer garden, if you will. The business owners did a fantastic job of laying out both the beer menus and a quick and easy ordering process. I noticed lots of big groups hanging out together. The obvious place in Brussels to hang out and have a beer with your crew.

"Beer Is The Answer!" they say, and it truly is. Absolutely loved our time at Moedar Lambic! This cool, busy bar tucked away from the busy parts of Brussels serves locals and tourists alike, and I can see why people love coming back here. For starters, the bar is long with ample seating and a great atmosphere for you to kick back some cheap drafts while munching on some beer seeds. It seems to be a popular place for recording as we stumbled upon a Photoshoot of sorts the day that we went. We wondered if we could get in on that too. The bartenders are extremely friendly and will help you select a beer of your choice based on your tastebuds. The menu is huge with each beer having its own specific glass; all hanging high from the ceiling creating an almost chandelier effect. If we weren't starving, we would've stayed a bit longer to try more of their drafts. You really can't go wrong with beer costing around €4 a pint inside a great, chill bar.

The best beer bar we went to in Brussels. Amazing selection of gueuze and lambic. Tons of Cantillion and other good stuff available. The cheese plate was amazing as well as the bread (served warm). Very friendly staff. If you are looking for an upscale beer bar not divey like Delirium, check this place out for drinks (and food)!

I visited Moeder Lambic three times in a 48-hour period. It was home to my first beer in Brussels and my very last. Plus many in between! This bar operates at my speed. Chill atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, and an excellent beer list. One fail: I kept calling it "Moedic." New nickname, yeah...? But seriously. Prices are fair. Beer is fresh (or old, if it's supposed to be old). You get the good stuff (Cantillon). There are places to sit. You won't feel overcrowded. The bathroom is clean. The hours are awesome. I can't recommend this bar enough. It's Delirium's antithesis and will always be held in high regard in my mind. Thanks for the memories, Moeder. You're awesome.

A great place for a variety of beers and some really good food! After dinner my wife and I took a walk and eventually headed to a brew pub my son had recommended. Moeder Lambic has a nice variety of beers from lambics to Porters. I ordered an Adelardus Brune a dark flavorful dubbel that has 7% alcohol and was quite good. The beer was accompanied by complimentary roasted barley as a snack which I really enjoyed. We also order an excellent charcuterie board that had a nice serving of a variety of high quality meats and cheeses along with a good portion of fresh bread. Food and beverages 4.5 Great food and beers Atmosphere 4.5 Nice well appointed interior with exterior seating as well. Service 4 Very friendly and knowledgeable. Price 4.5 One of the charcuterie boards I have had and the beer was very good. One of the few places that have free WiFi a nice bonus. OA 4.5 Both my wife and I enjoyed this pub and would love to come back!

Beer is the Answer! Moeder Lambic Fontainas is a must visit if you are a beer lover! A rotating tap list of 40 local beers and even imports! It was definitely a surprise to see Dieu du Ciel Aphrodisiaque as one of their guest taps! I love the relaxing and laid back vibe of this place. People drinking here and working here really enjoying their beers VS Delirium Cafe more like a party place! The beer list here is huge as there are 300+ bottles and the bartenders here are really knowledge and would do a recommendation if you could not decide what to drink! Band of Brothers De La Senne Kriek De Ranke Great and Friendly service! I just wish I can be back again during my Weekend in Bruxelles. Until next time!

They have a few options for pasta, but pretty much all of them will come with a heaping amount of average spaghetti, tons of meaty sauce, and copious amounts of cheese. I like my pasta covered in parm but this was a new level, and I had to scrape off a lot. Portions are extremely large, which ends up making the prices quite reasonable, but I struggled to finish mine, and not just from the size. My short rib topping was meh; I would just stick with the normal bolognese. Beer selection is pretty good. Our first waitress was indifferent but we later had a charming and attentive waiter. Bathrooms are grungy and communal, like a dive bar or venue. I can see why this place gets recommended to tourists, as it's in a charming neighborhood with a mix of locals and foreigners, it's easy to get a seat, and it's an attractive value. With this, I was slightly dubious - but they seriously know what they're talking about. After a long journey and lazy afternoon in and around the hotel, we hopped in a taxi and went straight to Monk for our first evening meal in Brussels. Aesthetically, everything is just spot on for me. From the window decal to the floor titles and the dark wooden cladding to the hidden nature of the restaurant in the back, if I could transport one place back to the UK with me it would be here. We managed to work our way through the Thursday night crowds and into the restaurant to grab a table; there was roughly a twenty minute wait but, with a Frankie & Benny's style buzzer to let us know when the table would be ready, we headed back into the bar. I went for their standard blonde on draught and Kate W. found her new favourite beer in the world, kriek boon. The atmosphere was the right balance between busy but not overwhelming, and service at the bar was super speedy despite the crowds. Once the buzzer went off, we headed immediately back through and settled down to look over the menu. It's a super simple set up - you choose your pasta sauce and cheese topping - for €10. We both went for the classic bolognese (the dish we'd read the most about) topped with parmesan. The whole meal experience was simple, no frills, but absolutely excellent. We visited again on our last day just for a drink, but their deli selection is well worth partaking in from what we saw; a whole range of meats and cheese, plus a traditional pea soup and hunks of bread, all soundtracked by someone playing the grand piano. Whether you're after a simple laid back beer or full dinner experience, this is the place to be.
