Gist (which means yeast in Dutch) is a relative newcomer to the Brussels beer scene, having only opened in December 2017. It does come with bonafides, however, the owner having worked previously at Moeder Lambic. There are 18 constantly rotating draft beers, including at least one cask ale. These are pretty esoteric offering and it's unlikely you'll find many (if any) elsewhere. Not exclusively Belgian, recent offerings have included beers from micro-breweries in England, France, Sweden, and the U.S, (Jester King), plus la Vermontoise, a collaboration between Belgium's Brasserie de Blaugies and Hill Farmstead Brewery in Vermont..
They also have a fare selection of bottled beer and offer snacks such as cheese. The owner has two turntables inside and spins tunes when the mood strikes him. The sidewalk tables out front make for good alfresco drinking and eating.. read more
