What an excellent local dive bar. First, you have to find this place. It is down a thin and non-descript alley. If you're not actively looking for it, you will miss it. We were looking for it, so after making a few wrong turns, we found it! They had a few beers on tap, and a few in bottles. My husband got a Trappist beer and I got the closest thing they had to a sour, a peach beer (very sweet). We then sat outside and enjoyed chatting with some locals and enjoying the ambiance. For a dive bar, it had great ambiance. I used the facilities while there and, let's just say, it's a dive bar. Know what to expect and you'll be fine. Clean enough, but I still used my hand sanitizer after! Lol. We will def go by here again the next time we're in Brussels. It's great to get off the beaten path and enjoy like the locals do.

There's something about cosy little bars hidden down lanes that will always draw me to them. So, when we spotted the street sign for this one, off we went. It really is quite a small bar and we weren't the only tourists keen to try it. It's in kind of a touristy so maybe that should be expected, but they're really used to getting groups of tourists here. No big deal, just as long as you don't mind sharing tables occasionally. We tried their beer flight - four beers to share with a snack each, which turned out to be pretzles. The beers went from light to heavy, weaker to stronger. We had something pale, something golden, something dark and something sweet. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the names of the beer, so all I can tell you is that the sweet one was some kind of cherry beer. Still, they were all very nice. Since it was pretty crowded we didn't stay long but it's a cool, quirky little bar and well worth a stop when exploring the city.

I came here with my partner and his parents for dinner and we enjoyed different burgers and their spicy fish and chips- the blue cheese burger was delicious and the spice on the fish and chips were amazing. (Side note: their bbq sauce was made in house and also very good!) We didn't really get to try their beer selection and I've heard great things about their nachos, so we'll have to return! There weren't a ton of folks when we'd gone since we arrived fairly early, but it started to fill up as the evening went on. Additionally, my partner had left behind a backpack and they kept it safe for when they opened the next available day- really honest people and service! They do accept card for payment as well.

The sign is a tiny one over the kitchen entrance so you'll miss it if you're not careful. Arrived on a Saturday around 830pm. Bar was really nice and friendly. Had their pulled pork sandwich with the Dewar's injection. Kitchen is small and can be sow. Don't rush it. Enjoy a few drinks and relax. The house lager on draft was really good. Service was top notch and very friendly. Had such a great time I came back middle of the week and had one of their burgers that was a spicy one. The spice level was fairly hot due to the jalapenos, but it wasn't burn your face off like ghost chilis. I give it a 5 or 6 on the hotness scale. It was flavorful but not anything I would recommend to people who love spicy food. The average person would probably enjoy it. Bar seating with friendly bartenders are what makes this place so skip the table and sit at the bar.

The service was great, they take credit cards with chips, and the selection/prices were unbeatable. The interior is cozy and classic, with a large buffalo head perched above the bar. While bar service is only downstairs on slow nights, I highly recommend sitting upstairs where there are several small tables with benches hanging from the wall. The tables overlook the bar area below. Contrary to a previous review, while the music and atmosphere can become loud on the weekends, we never had an issue hearing each other in conversation. They played great music throughout the night. Overall, cafe Bizon is highly highly recommended as one of my favorite bars visited throughout my travels. Great beer, great prices, great people, great music, great interior, and overall great time.
