I recently visited Salon Stars in Markham for a holiday hair makeover, and it was such a pleasant…read moresurprise! This salon is a little hidden on the second floor of a mall.. The hairstylist was incredibly patient and detail-oriented. He took his time throughout the colouring process, and I could tell he genuinely cared about getting the result right. I absolutely love how my hair turned out! The colour looks beautiful, and I really appreciated the amount of work he put into it. For anyone looking for a reasonably priced hair salon in Markham, this is definitely a spot worth considering. Just keep in mind that bleaching isn't included in the regular colouring deal, so it's best to discuss pricing before starting. Overall, a great experience and a lovely hidden find!

You would be surprised how many salons/stylists out there say they're confident in managing textured Asian hair and really don't know what they're talking about. I have never left a salon fully happy. After a lot of research, I reached out to Morph on Yelp and decided to give them a try... And I've never looked back. I go to Peter and he will always be my go-to. He gives you insight on the condition of your hair, what kind of products you should use, and teaches you how to style your own hair at home to make it easy for you to upkeep. He also recommended styles that fit with my hair's texture and length, and what looks best for my face. I like that they also don't oversell you on the products they use - they know the products they have are on the more expensive side. The service you get here is great - there's someone to help take your jacket and put it away, and the brief head massages you get while they wash your hair is heavenly! I've referred so many friends and family members here and they've all left happy!

The mocha we ordered was delicious, adequate in chocolate notes paired with espresso. I want to say that the drinks were the highlight of my experience here. They have a few special menu items, like the unagi pizza - which I found was not the best in terms of taste. I can't pick out exactly what it is, but something on there wasn't to my liking. Either way, interesting menu item to try. To finish off, I ordered some cotton candy for my sister. I was disappointed that they said they ran out of the paper cones/sticks for the cotton candy, so they offered it to me in brown paper bags. Parking is alright as well in the plaza, since there's a lot else within.

Wil goes beyond expectation every visit , and has not disappointed. Even during Covid, his clients including me have waited over 6 months to have him cut my hair! Even if he takes a while to book, he is so worth the wait. He is outgoing, approachable and so skilled in his passion for hair it definitely shows. What stood out to me . He is attentive, careful, and specific of your needs. Any concern I have , he answers and delivers more . So far in this year since been with him I went to him for my wedding hair , life stage change hair , maintenance , and more. He tells me what is right for my face shape, my needs, and he tells you what you need to hear ! Love it. PS. Only he knows how to work on hair bangs the proper way!

He explained that the end will flair out and that it would look better with non-collar shirts. I really appreciate that he took the time to make sure I'm aware of these things. Just take a look at the pictures. I'm not the type to be picky about my hair as long as it looks somewhat similar to a picture I show, but WOW this is surprisingly the worst experience I've had at a hair salon despite the decent reviews. Also have to mention how Yin managed to give me attitude despite not even being my stylist. She seems nice to clients she knows, but not sure about new clients! She complained in front of me to my stylist about the price he was charging for such an awful job, then checked me out. She took my money, took forever to fork out change, then just takes it back without confirming if it was a tip I was leaving first. Not a word at all to me during this entire time. Customer service? I think not! I was charged $185 in exchange for such an atrocious job and had originally scheduled a second appointment to touch up the roots; however, after seeing my own pictures, I simply cannot return. Have to go spend another $200 somewhere else to fix this btw! Yay!!

My stylist is Andy and he's been great to me and my hair. I came in at the recommendation of a friend who said this place was good, a vague description of a salon considering most places I've been to were either mediocre, pricey, or a combination of both. Hair wash: I'd rate it 10/5 if I could, it's just that good. They make sure to massage your neck after massaging your scalp multiple of times. It's so relaxing and the service makes the experience extraordinary. Cut: Andy is so detailed when it comes to just a simple trim. Nothing was rushed and he was very helpful with my clueless desire for a vague cut. The products they use are all the best of the best. Service: So great!! They served my mom and I tea for the wait, and they were super nice about everything. Atmosphere: Classy and top notch, professional. Expect nothing less! Price: $38! So great for what you get. Definitely recommend.
