This snow storm wasn't a surprise. We've been hearing about it for DAYS. Heck, Kansas City Airport was closed this morning until noon. But Saint Louis Lambert is open (and my flight was on time!). So why the heck are the highways in the Saint Louis area still half-heartedly plowed? I'm not referring to the surface streets - that's the county and the city. I'm talking about the Interstate highways around the airport!
This afternoon around 4pm, I-70 yo I-170 south from the airport to Clayton there was one half-hearted plowed lane. The exit ramps? Not even slightly. If I had known that they would be this bad, I'd have paid Lyft extra for an SUV or just taken the metro. Instead, my driver was trying hard in a front wheel drive Camry!
This is the "Show Me State"? I'd say that you've shown me a disaster. Were y'all watching the game shows instead of the Weather Channel?
