so with my Camaro I paid a performance shop $58,000 to build it to 8-900whp, took better part of a year to do it. I got it back for 3 months of easy driving during that time it was in and out of the performance shop quickly for wiring issues that weren't caught. The transmission went out on it shortly afterwards. The car sat in front of my house for 2 months before it could get scheduled in by the shop this time around. When it finally did get in, it sat there for another 2 months before I got a call to pick it up, that 'nothing was wrong with it.' I sent my people to go get it and he didn't make it to the end of the street before it broke down again... so it sits back at the performance shop for several more months after it's realized the transmission is toast and they wait on parts... I come to the realization at this point these people probably don't know what their doing, but I kept my mouth shut and hoped they would get me taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I finally got the car back a couple weeks ago after roughly 7 months since it was last drivable, only thing being wrong was the transmission. As I was told and my impression up until the car was picked up was that I would be paying for the rebuild in full, as nothing was warranted by the manufacturer nor the transmission shop, and I was fine with that because at this point I just wanted my car back. At no point through this process did I expect a handout or anything else I just wanted it to work right. At any rate, to my surprise only when taking delivery of the car were we told the performance shop did in fact pay the bill for the transmission rebuild which was the right and respectful thing to do, no doubt, and I appreciate the attempt to make it right. The car drove for a full week and a half before once again the transmission seems to have toasted it's clutchpacks. I have had no faith in the rebuild since I got it back and have been really easy on it, I haven't raced this car or beat on it in years at this point, it's just been get it back and break, get it back and break. Less than 700 miles of light Highway driving and city cruising have left this vehicle as a paperweight sitting in my driveway that I'm terrified to move because of anymore damage that I'll do to it. The transmission shop owner says their work was done right and it's the manufacturer of the parts, or it lies on the performance shop because the transmission is apparently not capable, in his opinion of handling the power that their combination of parts is producing. On our last call he tells me "I don't know what else to do, we've done all we could , I told the (performance shop) the 8 speed wasn't capable, Im not pointing fingers but Circle D likely has something to do with I can't help you anymore get with them." From what I understand that 8 speed should handle this kind of power no problem with the kit that was sourced. As far as the performance shop goes, even before having issues the shop manager tells me "the only reason we rebuilt this for you is because you spent so much money with us. If it happens again I don't want anything to do with it." He contends that the manufacturer is to blame also, but at the same time hints that the transmission shop isn't off Scott free, but won't come out and say it. Both Circle D specialties and Circle D transmission say either the kit is not installed correctly or transmission was not tuned correctly and the folks I've talked to have personally inspected these parts when they came through their respective businesses... I have been absolutely respectful, courteous, and professional with all parties involved. I see all the C7 and Camaros their shop has done in the past so I really don't know what makes me and my car any different. I just feel like I'm not being taken seriously as a customer, and these people think that they can walk on me and leave me with a half working car. I don't know what else to do, I've been robbed of my money and my time and the buck doesn't stop. The people that built her don't even want to work on her anymore. If I didn't have to work, I would've done it myself but instead, I gave my trust and resources to this business to do it right the first/second time and although they tried, that did not and has not happened. I feel like I'm just renting this car for a few days at a time, and it has to go back to this shop and sit for months for nothing and cost me thousands to repair. I honestly just don't even enjoy this hobby anymore. I wanted something I could drive to the coast reliably, not just mall cruise around this state. I was led to believe that was possible when I spent a premium on it. I have a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport A8 and the mods they installed and dyno/street tuned are: Kooks 1-7/8" long tube headers (ceramic coated to 2300 degrees) and mid pipe with high flow cats aFe cold air intake 180 thermostat Plugs and wires Mighty Mouse catch can I also had them install carbon ceramic brake pads, side skirts, and stage 3 front splitter. My son and I stopped by to ask about tuning his car. Because of all the cars in the parking lot, we didn't see the small front door on the side of the building, and mistakenly walked in through their large open garage doors. Instead of being met with, "Can I help you?" we were met with "They don't need help in there!". After we apologized and explained what service we were looking for, this employee continued to berate us and treat us rudely with an insulting tone. I have had good experiences working with modified by KC. First visit was a few years back to fix a leaking seal at the driveshaft on my Evo. Dropped the car off, went for a run and they were done within the hour. Next up was 120k miles maintenance. Replaced the timing belt, water pump and then I mentioned that the car was smoking at start up. Seems this is common for Evos with this kind of mileage. Proceeded to remove the head and get the head rebuilt and I decided to go with kelford cams, 1000cc injectors, intake manifold and throttle body, as well as FMIC and piping. Good call on removing the head, as the head gasket was showing signs of leakage. Next visit was for a no boost condition. Found the catalytic converter was plugged at 131k miles. Got that fixed quickly. So last round of mods was turbo, exhaust manifold and upgraded radiator. Best of all is their onsite dyno and tuning abilities. Each visit has resulted in a better car. Saw some newer corvettes and Camaros last visit. Don't forget the Evos! I will be back as needed for maintenance and E85 tuning. read more

I love reading reviews like this. The owners are a pleasure to deal with, they are always there, they love to talk about cars. Yes you can do anything to any YOU want, but it is like with anything you get what you can with the money you have. People want it to be Cheap, Reliable, and Fast. Pick 2, but you don't get to have all 3. Most of us work on our own cars, and simply use Modified for the Dyno and parts. Thanks to the guys at MKC! Thanks to MKC, my '15 WRX runs terrific! They modified my Subaru in 3 stages as I requested. The first 2 were with Cobb modifications, the third was their expertise & recommendation with Precision. Initially, I struggled with shifting and maintaining boost; couldn't get out of a Honda Accord's way. Now I have so much torque I can shift into 5th at 43 mph running at/below 2,000 rpm; and shifting at 6,000 rpm is so smooth passengers can sip hot coffee. Performance is night and day; it improved from 262 hp to 360+. I even went from all around 21 mpg to 23.5 mpg; gas savings should pay for the cost. Really, I cannot write enough good about the great workmanship being done at Modified KC! read more
