What a delight to have a locally-owned auto shop so close to home. Located just south of 72nd Street and Antioch Road in Gladstone, this business offers early morning hours throughout the week. Jacob and the staff at Wayne Croy are great! Friendly and efficient. Honest and reliable. I visited for an auto inspection. Earlier in the week, I called to get a walk in and learned they process auto inspections at the start of their day. I arrived and had the inspection completed in about 30 minutes. This hometown business offers a humble waiting area with restrooms, magazines and a soda vending machine. Took my truck to get a vacuum line taken care of under the manifold. Afterwards, I had multiple diagnostic codes that was not present prior to them beginning work. I had to once again remove the intake manifold to find that they did not get the knock sensors plugged back in to their mating connectors. Two other connectors behind the intake were not plugged in completely. I'm sure they are a decent shop, they are friendly. They did do what I asked but in the process they caused more issues by the lack of attention to detail. I don't blame the management, I blame the technician but, will never go back again. read more

I took my Toyota Tundra to This shop after being told by Jay Wolfe Toyota that I needed brakes and shocks. Seems like every time I go to Jay Wolfe for an oil change, I walk out with a $500+ bill. Took to Croy for the work to be done. They called and said brakes had a lot of life left and while one shock did have a minor seep, there was no reason to make the repair now. So for $25 inspection fee, I saved $1,000. Really appreciate the honesty from Croy. Could have had a pretty big ticket repair, but as they said, "we treat you as we'd like to be treated" read more

As far as I can tell, Croy's is honest as the day is long. However, after 5 weeks, plus considerable work on their part and money on our part, we ended up towing a pick-up away from Croy's when it still wasn't running. Take a lesson from our mistake, -if a car or truck hasn't been started in 3 years, please, -just take it directly to a salvage yard. The hard-working guys at Croy's can't work miracles. Their communication skills could use a little improvement but nobody's perfect. read more

I've used Wayne Croy for years and have always been treated professionally by them. Recently I took my Dodge charger in to have them look at some noise in the front end. This may be a bit premature as I have not taken my truck in for service yet: It needs front coil springs and wheel hubs. BUT, of the 3 garages I contacted for a quote this is the only one that responded. I called and discussed the work I needed done. They left a message by the end of the day with the quote. Thinking I needed to pay some up front for them to order parts etc... I drove up there to schedule. (that and I kinda wanted to check the place out) When I walked in, there was noone around, then within a couple minutes I was greeted by 3 people all willing to help me. As it turned out, they did not need any prepayment or credit card, said I could have just scheduled over the phone, no problem. So, I am scheduled to bring the truck in this afternoon. They said it should just take them a day. I will keep yall posted on the outcome. UPDATE: I dropped of my truck monday night for them to work on it Tuesday. They called me around 1 on tuesday saying the work was done, ready to go. Picked up the truck and all the work was done, no problems, and the final bill was a little less than the original estimate. I have used Wayne Croy for 29 years. They explain what's needed and fix only what is required. I have never had to return for the second time for the same repair. They have repaired my late model (current year) auto all the way back to 15+ yr old cars I've been known to drive, and both domestic (Ford, Chevy) and foreign (Mazda, Hundai.) I dropped off my car on Friday, December 23rd for brakes but they were not able to get a part in before they closed for Christmas weekend. They offered to work on my car over the Christmas weekend while they were closed! I told them to not worry about it but this shows how dedicated they are to their customers! I took my car here to get a state inspection. They said I needed $700 dollars worth of work done in order to pass including a brake light bulb. I left and when I got home, found that the brake light worked fine. I took it to Midas, who said nothing was wrong with it and passed it for the inspection. To make sure, I took it to a 3rd mechanic, who also said nothing was wrong with it. I would never go back to Wayne Croy again. read more
