I can't say enough about Leena and the amazing team at Modern Tailoring! For my wedding, I had a vision for the perfect dress--something I completely made up in my head. Leena sketched it out and brought it to life from scratch without even using a pattern. It turned out exactly how I dreamed. The creativity doesn't stop there--the owner's sister recreated a jumpsuit for me, transforming it into a totally unique, one-of-a-kind piece. I can't tell you how many compliments I received! She also redesigned my daughters' dresses, and they fit them perfectly. The skill, care, and attention to detail from everyone at Modern Tailoring are unmatched. From simple hems to a complicated dress idea in my head, they're the best. I will never go anywhere else! I'm shocked in how amazing this business is! If your looking for someone to create a dress/fix or alter clothing then this is the best place. I came here 2 weeks ago with only an idea drawn on a notepad of what I wanted my Halloween costume/dress to look like and they completely nailed it. Two weeks later I picked up my custom dress and it was beautiful. It's everything I wanted and more and everything is fair priced! I will be back again, thank you!

I came in just for measurements and was treated with hostility. I was pressured and rushed as I was told to write down my measurements as he gave them verbally. I don't know the ins and outs of suits so I was hoping to get help from a high reviewed shop. But instead I was given a poor service and wrong measurements and was still charged for it. I instead went to another shop and got my measurements with a great customer experience and the measurements were vastely different. read more

I am so grateful to have found Modern Tailoring! I had to buy a discontinued bridesmaid dress and there was only a size 18 left... I'm a size 2. The seamstresses and dress makers at Modern Tailoring worked a miracle and made the dress look exactly the same as the other bridesmaids. I was so impressed and grateful for what they were able to do. They were also very kind! Thank you to everyone at Modern Tailoring! I will update my review with photos at some point :) read more

I cannot recommend Mary and Modern Tailoring enough!!!! She saved my wedding dress after a different seamstress hemmed it 4 inches too short and didn't take it in correctly only 1 week before my wedding. I was freaking out until I found Modern Tailoring. I don't know a thing who sewing but Mary gave me so much helpful information. She told me that the first seamstress took my dress in from the sides, instead of the back, which is the easy way to do it. Because of this, there was extra fabric all in the back of my dress which just looked bad and unflattering on my body, but Mary managed to fix it all and make it perfect! And not only did Mary fix my wedding dress to fit me like a glove, but I picked it up after only 2 business days!!! I cannot recommend this business enough. I will only trust them with any future alterations. read more

This shop is hands down the best tailoring in temecula! I've brought suits and military uniforms here numerous times. I had to bring in a uniform item one night close to closing for some last minute adjustments that needed to be done for the next day and the man helping me out was able to get it back to me in a half hour. I'm super pleased with their service. read more

Went here for the first time because my sweater ripped, and based on reviews, this seemed like a reliable place. I went in, and the guy working (owner?) looked at the rip and randomly named a price. Since I was a complete newbie, I didn't know if it was cheap or expensive, but I said okay and paid! It looked like an easy fix and he charged $6. He gave me a piece of paper so I could write down my phone number and then asked me a date for pick up. It was a quick exchange and as I was driving back home, I realized I never got like a receipt or ticket to bring back (maybe because I paid cash?). He said he just needed my phone number but still. I had no record of me being there. He could lose my sweater, and I'd have nothing to show. When I went back, my sweater was fixed and all was good. I will probably be back, but definitely will ask for a receipt or ticket. read more

Modern Tailoring has been my go to seamstress/Alterations since we moved to Temecula 9 years ago. I have nothing but positive thoughts about them. In fact, I had a renewal vow wedding and my dress came in literally 9 days prior to the event 12/13/19. They said they were able to get the alterations done within days and it was PERFECT! Had a pair of designer jeans that were too baggy and had a "boot cut" leg opening and wanted them to fit more like my slim fit/tapered leg jeans. I brought in the baggy pair of jeans along with pair of my slim fit / tapered leg jeans so they could know what kind of fit I wanted and so they could match the fit/measurements. They told me the price would be $14 and the jeans would be ready within 3 days. Not going to lie, I was a bit scared that they would trim too much and make the pants way too tight. I came back 3 days later, paid the $14 and could not wait to get home to try on my new pair of jeans. They fit perfectly and now I have 2 pairs of jeans that fit like a glove! Great place! I always have unusual requests from a tailor- such as cut this off this item and sew it here on this item, or cut open the seams and add this drawstring through it, etc, etc, so I'm just not your standard "take this in" or hem kind of person....Gus is fantastic and can handle everything I bring in to do--and with precision! ...if you want it done right and within a reasonable time frame- this is the place for you...it is slightly more costly then some-- but worth it because it's perfection! read more

Today I picked up 2 dresses that I dropped off a week ago! I am impressed on how well they altered the hems!! Amazing job!! It was two formal dresses. In my opinion, one was very tricky to hem because of the ruffles. They did such a professional job!! The color of the thread is the same as the dress, the stitching is like the original, just incredible!!! I highly recommend this place!! I walked in on Friday after I had an emergency mishap with my dress for engagement pictures on Saturday 2/27. I took the dress in as it needed a new zipper and I needed it the very next day. The lady was super sweet and friendly and and reassured me that it would be fixed no problem. My fiancé picked up the dress the next day and she had replaced the zipper and it looked as if nothing had happened to the dress. She literally saved our engagement photos. When I went to the shop I was very discouraged because I had been told that my wedding dress could not be altered and this was by my trusted seamstress from another tailoring shop. I went here to get my wedding dress altered and bustled. Mary was amazing! She gave me good advice that ended up saving me about $200 in work on the dress. She was prompt, and did fantastic work. She also did my mother and future mother-in-law's dress and did great work on them as well. Overall reasonable priced and she does wonderful work. I drove many times from Escondido to Temecula just because I wanted her to do the work on my dress. I will definitely come back for all my tailoring needs. read more

I brought in two pairs of jeans and one dress for alterations and spent about $75 total…read more Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the results. For the jeans, instead of being taken in through the back seam (as is standard for jean alterations), fabric was taken in on both sides. The stitching is very obvious, and there is a thick, bulky clump of folded fabric left inside each pair, which looks and feels uncomfortable and unprofessional. This is not how jeans are typically altered, especially at $25 per pair. I ended up having to spend more money and take them to another place that was willing to fix the mistake and alter them correctly. The dress was partially fixed, but an important detail was missed. I specifically asked for the back clasp/snaps at the top of the dress to be sewn back on, and that was completely forgotten. Overall, the workmanship did not match the price, and I felt like I wasted my money. I wouldn't return or recommend this service based on my experience.

After one of the most discouraging experiences dress shopping, I truly thought my dream of wearing something made from my mom's wedding dress was over. Another seamstress looked at me, looked at the dress, and bluntly told me there was "no touching this dress" and that I was "too big for it." I left devastated. On the drive home, my mom said, "Let's just try this place," and we walked into Modern Tailoring completely by chance. That moment felt like fate because that's when we met Mary. From the second I explained the story behind the dress, Mary didn't see problems -- she saw possibility. She completely fell in love with the project, with the meaning behind it, and honestly made me feel beautiful and worthy the entire process. She treated my mom's wedding dress with so much care and respect while somehow transforming it into the most stunning bridal shower dress I could have ever imagined. When TWG handles your event, you can sit back and relax. The attention Cheryl and Sharon give to EVERY detail is unbelievable. The food was absolutely great. The mashed potato martini bar was a hit, BBQ wings, macaroni & cheese, outstanding. Everyone wanted to take home jugs of her Peach Tea. Oh and don't let me forget the delectable Peach Cobbler with a heart pastry on each one. People raved about the food and the terrific service. The way her team treats your guest is second to none. I have experienced the exquisite services of TWG on several occasions and I will continue to have you cater any event I have to plan. We could not have done this without you and your team Cheryl. Thank you so much for making our West Coast reception the best ever. We wish you the best always and look forward to having our next event with you...my birthday. I am incredibly disappointed with the rude treatment I received. I called in with a positive attitude, ready to kindly explain what I needed help with, but I was abruptly hung up on while trying to communicate. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially when a customer comes to you with the intent of doing business. Hanging up on customers not only shows a lack of respect but also ruins the experience and mood of those who genuinely want to work with you. I expected much better and hope you take this feedback seriously to improve your customer service standards. read more

I have taken multiple suits and pants here to get tailored over the past year. I am always blown away by their low prices and great handiwork. I have never been let down by their service. The moment I walk in the door Gus is there to greet me with a smile and expert tailoring. He's even fixed a ripped seam (I'm skinny and get a very slim fit) months after I got the suit. In just a matter of minutes after bringing it back I was walking out with fixed pants at no cost. I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed! read more

My daughter bought a prom dress that had to be shortened, have a corset back added, have sleeves added, and have the slit moved, as well as the lace covering it. Lina basically restructured this dress and she did an AMAZING job. My daughter is so excited to wear her, now one of a kind, dress for her senior prom and it's all thanks to Modern Tailoring and the wonderful Lina. The service was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a place to get my prom dress altered in my prom dress is very layered but they were able to accommodate that and they charge a very reasonable price and I think it's very valuable to go here and I really would recommend it and if you're scared about layers, don't be they're very accommodating. read more
