My nails are beautiful, the design was well done, the people were friendly, and it was pretty cheap ($30 for cut down, acrylic fill, gel polish).. But they absolutely butchered my cuticles. The very first nail, she cut me with the dremel so bad that after 10 min of bleeding they finally put the green gel that burns on it and it quit. I was passed on to someone else who apologized profusely and said "no more pain, promise".. Well, he burnt me many times, almost every nail I was yanking my fingers away, I got 3 more knicks, and my cuticles are red and sore today. I've been getting my nails done at various places, for 15 years, and never had this happen so much. I've also never complained, but this was bad. read more

I've never made an appointment but am usually helped right away when I walk in. The staff is friendly and I always walk out with beautiful nails. The store is always clean and tidy. I usually get gel nails and they have an extensive color selection. This is my favorite nail place to go to, and I'll keep coming back. This is my favorite place in town. Andy and the whole staff are perfectionists and I have never been disappointed. I was looking for a new place for pedicures and I've found it! I've been going for about a year now and I'm still as happy each time as the first. I have never once left disappointed. Last time I tried the gelish nail polish too. I gave a 2 star rating because service was ok. I was greeted nicely at the door and served quickly. The salon clean and reasonable prices. Not much of a color selection compared to other places. My nail tech stepped outside for a smoke break in the middle of my service. He came back reeking of that gross cigarette/nicotine smell. He didn't bother to wash his hands or freshen up either. This was only the very least of the issue I had. On 2 separate occasions a man could be heard angrily shouting in the back. Soon after a smacking sound & a crying child could be heard. It was the most uncomfortable and awkward feeling. The 1st time it was quick. The second time was disturbing. What made it worse was that the man walked out into the salon with the child who looked to only be about 2-3 years old. My service went from relaxing to wanting to call DCF. Did an awesome job on my nails and at a good price. They redid what another salon did just a couple days earlier for me which was gel with French tips to keep my own nails from breaking. I'll never go anywhere else. He was very meticulous and proud of his work and it showed. read more

The service I received overall was great. I was a little upset that the pedicurist wasn't paying attention while buffing my toes & caused a cut. I do understand accidents happen. I love this place! Sandy at Modern Nails has been doing my pedicures and gel nails for two years now and I've never had a bad experience! I've moved over to Indian Rocks Beach and am forced to find another salon and it breaks my heart! They always do a great job and the price is very reasonable. This is my 1st Yelp review. I went here disregarding the bad review because gel mani cost $25 and it was convenient location. I got the lady, and she gave a hard time with filing my nails. First they were all crooked as if she didn't even care, I asked her to fix them 3x and she gave me a hard time, excuses and even filed after polishing, which I've never had that done. My nails ended up being square (instead of my rounded square request), with a polish gap proximally and much shorter than I had planned. Definitely not like my normal gel manicures from other salons. So unhappy with my nails. So if you hope to have perfect nails and get your money's worth then be careful at this place. read more

Just relocated to the area and need a go-to place. I came here for a gel nail manicure/polish. Color usually lasts 2 weeks for me, here it was cracking and chipping within a week. The waxing area was also dirty. There is something nasty about laying your head on a towel with other people's hair on it. Went to get a pedicure and ended up getting a ingrown to nail. Also they like 2seconds massaging my feet. Won't go again.

Did not have a good experience. I ended up with crooked, oddly shaped nails. When I showed him where a couple seemed a bit crooked, he told me my finger is crooked. I proceeded to point out you could see the corner of my natural nail sticking out because it was glued crooked. He then started sawing away at my nail, making me bleed quite a bit as he muttered things quietly to another staff member. After that he refused to finish my nails. He had another lady paint them. I asked initially if they could do nail art and he told me yes, anything I show them. I asked if they had nail gems of any sort, no. So instead I asked if he could paint bows on just 2. He said yes. Well the chick that painted them could not. They looked like black boxes on my nails. I don't know why I tipped. I went home and removed the polish, reshaped them as best as I could and repainted them. Not going back. read more

Andy does great pedicures- and all of the people that work there are very nice! Very relaxing and clean environment.

Terrible customer service. Mediocre work. The nail tech that provided my service was the male that sits in front, and he definitely is not the most pleasant. He made me feel as though I was a bother to him. He was very rude, making faces and rolling his eyes throughout the service. The work was ok, but definitely not the best in the area. I like to feel welcome and that my business is appreciated, and I just did not get that. read more

their customer service sucks!! I come in one day asking a simple question and they looked at me like I'm stupid... So right then and there I wasn't feeling the vibe. But I ended up going there the next day because prom was coming up and I needed something done fast. So I go and I show them exactly what I wanted on my nails. In the picture showed the color, design, and exactly how I wanted my nails to be (rounded, matte coated, with glitter tips) . The nail tech guy came out rudely asking me why I wanted it like that so I end up making it a little more simple for him by telling him to forget the glitter tips.. Just to speed up the process. So while he's doing my nails... HE BURPS. literally all he doing is burping. So gross. Impolite with no type of manners. I ignore it. When he began to file I told him I didn't want it squared I wanted rounded. He let out the biggest sigh and started talking crap. Like tell me next time before I start. But I did and showed him a picture exactly how I wanted my nails. He act like I made his job even harder on him. But he's the one doing nails for a living just do what the customer ask right? So he ends up rolling his eyes the whole time being extremely rude and rough on my nails and made them crooked. Just overall terrible service. So bad I end up getting my pedicure done somewhere nicer with better service and cheaper price. I wouldn't recommend this place what so ever. read more
