We spent a wonderful afternoon, drinking at modern method. We loved hillbilly elite, however, it was not available in cans! Dub City was another excellent brew, but they were out of it to go. We left #emptyhanded.

We purchase their beers regularly from local stores but this was only our third visit in person to sit and enjoy trivia night and some great beer. Located in downtown Warren in David Grohl Alley, this brewery sits inside an old, brick building that gives off a great brewery/tasting room vibe. There is seating inside and outside in the alley which is cool in and of itself. 18-tap system so plenty of options of what brewery made beers you'd like to try. I personally prefer stouts and lagers which are great here. I sampled a few IPA's which I'm not crazy about in general but am starting to come around to liking. My wife and Uncle Bill M. (fellow Yelper) are big on good IPA's and both enjoyed the offerings here. I must add, it was our first time playing trivia here and our team, the Booze Hounds, won! We received a $5 gift card for winning round 3 and a $25 gift card for winning the entire thing. Great time was had by all and we will have many more visits to come.

I stopped in Modern Methods on Saturday night for its soft opening. I really dig what they did with the space, it's not huge but has a pretty cool, laid back vibe. They had a young, local band playing some chill garage rock, and the whole scene was just grungy enough to maintain the pertinence of its location on Dave Grohl Alley. Not all of the taps were filled just yet, but they had a good range over the entire beer spectrum to start. As a fan of dark beer, I was relieved that they had a stout available - Roast Beast American Stout, which had a strong hints of coffee with a slightly bitter finish to it. Personally, I would like to see some beers with higher ABVs in the future, so I will definitely keep an eye on what they fill their other kegs with as they continue to brew. It's definitely a place to check out if you're into craft beer and I certainly hope it's a business that is able to grow into something really special. Warren, Ohio has a few hidden gems in all of its economic disparity and this one has the potential to join the list. Here's to the future, Modern Methods!

Quick service. Fair prices. Nice people. Great tasting beers. And the fact that it's on Dave Grohl Alley honestly makes this place a little cooler. They do need more stools though, but I still give them 5s.

I tasted them at Iron Mann in Girard. Shout out to those guys for having this extensive selection, along with great, friendly service I'd say check out 1547 wherever you find them and see how your tastes compare to mine... My impression of the beers (always a subjective matter, of course) went down something like this: 1400 Miles From Home - a Key Lime Sour. Very light sour, to my liking, with all of the flavors in the description working together quite nicely Kolsch - another light version of this style. It is a good summer beer for someone who wants a little more flavor than a Bud/Coors/Miller Ohio Heat Wave - subtle habanero on the back end slowly builds, but that's about the only thing I'm picking up. This is a very light beer Hang 11 - a sweet IPA? The bitterness is as advertised. Would love to know the hops involved. Very drinkable, but don't expect a mouthful of IPA. More like a sweet, session IPA in my opinion Shooktown NE IPA - first taste hit very nice. Like most of them, it tastes very close to the description. No bitterness, but like others on the flight, it's a light version of this style. I'm used to a more potent hit of juice from a NE IPA, it's drinkable for sure

To our surprise the wait staff was very attentive keeping our drinks refilled, they never ran empty, when it came to our appetizer and our food they were always asking how it was, if we needed anything else. the wait staff are amazing and if not for just the food being great we would definitely dine here again. The food was immaculate, we had the deep fried pickles appetizer and I will tell you straight from the heart I've never had fried pickles as delicious as these were, not even Quaker Steak has pickles this delicious. 10/10 We each ordered the Philly cheesesteak, hers with the garlic aoli and mine without, and I have to say we were both surprised at how delicious, savory, and tender the steak was. This is the type of dining experience we have expected but have never gotten to witness. Barrel 33 has really out done themselves. The only problem I had and I'm sure my wife probably had was the Ambiance, the music was great, but the lighting was terrible it was difficult to read the menus and I was almost at the point where I was going to turn on the flashlight on my phone to read what was available but it's nothing to complain about, these old tired eyes just don't see very well anymore and it's not their fault. yes I would have liked a little more light to see, but I get it, the feel they were going for, which makes the overall dining experience enjoyable and pleasant. Thank you Barrel 33 for a great evening out with my babydoll. we will definitely visit again.
