The only other place I've seen with this much of a selection is that wine bar on south ave. in Boardman by Alladins (sorry, I forgot the name). The entire back wall is a refrigerated with at least 100+ different types of of cold beer. The prices are decent, average for the area. They also have a good amount of wines, but I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't really comment. Liquor is also available, and they have a decent stock of that as well, all the major brands, but probably not all the sizes. I really like this place and it's my first stop when looking for something different in terms of beer.

You can tell they put a lot of care into both the quality of the food and the presentation. If you're looking for great BBQ with generous portions and amazing taste, this place is definitely worth a visit. The young lady working mentioned that it was their first day at Mastropietro Winery with her husband. They were both incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the food and the experience. We hope they'll be back again soon!

A Long Overdue Return to Mastropietro Winery…read more We finally made it back to Mastropietro Winery after seven years--and what a perfect day for it. It was a quiet winter afternoon, but with a surprising twist: a hot and sunny 77-degree day that felt more like early summer than mid-winter. Naturally, we took advantage of the weather and enjoyed our wine outside, soaking in the sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. I realized I'd never taken a photo in front of the iconic Mastropietro sign--so this visit felt long overdue in more ways than one. We sampled several wines during our visit, and I was really impressed. The Vidal Blanc stood out right away--off-dry, estate-grown, with just a touch of oak that gave it a subtle, elegant complexity. The Riesling was bright and delicious, and the Cabernet was smooth and easy to enjoy. But the real star for me was the Chambourcin--absolutely fantastic! If I heard correctly, it's 100% Chambourcin and estate-grown as well, which made it all the more special. Mastropietro continues to impress, and this visit reminded me why it's such a gem. Cheers to great wine, unexpected weather, and coming back to places that feel like home.

This place absolutely blew away their competition, and most wineries in the area for that matter. All the wines we tried Lemon, Black Cherry, Niagara, Concord, and a few others I can't remember were absolutely top notch wines, the Concord, Niagara and Black Cherry were all must -get wines. The owner was behind the bar, very knowledgeable and accomodating, the setting is a very laid back, relaxed country atmosphere, not far from Waterloo HS, there is no Atwater HS as I found out, lol, we'll definitely visit here again.

I really dropped the ball as I never took any pictures so I deserve a Yelp demerit. They offer red and white wines, beer, ciders and mead. On the food side they offer burgers, handhelds, flatbreads and a decent variety of appetizers. Now, I enjoy sweet wines as does my wife so we both had a few glasses of the Moscato which we really enjoyed. They do have a Cab, a Pinot and a blended dry that I did not sample. Now, the mead. I really liked it here and they boast having a 700 year old recipe that they use to make it. I really cant speak to the food as we only ordered a small cheese plate having eaten before meeting our friends here. I must say though that the burgers and things our friends ordered looked pretty damn tasty and they all said enjoyed there choices. A great time was had by all and looking forward to returning in the near future.

First Visit to Lake Milton Brewery - Now Also a Winery…read more This was our first time visiting Lake Milton Brewery, which has recently added wine to its offerings. When we arrived, we took a look at their wine selection, which included a few reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with some fruit wines. The blackberry wine was quite enjoyable, and while the Cab wasn't our favorite, it wasn't bad either. Since the brewery was the original focus here, I was excited to try some of the beers--especially Cole's Kölsch--but unfortunately, they were out. I then asked for the Irish Red, but that was also unavailable. I sampled the IPA, but it didn't have the flavor profile of a traditional IPA, and the only beer they had on tap was the Loveless Lager. While lagers are typically a safe choice, this one tasted a bit flat, lacking carbonation. I was also really looking forward to trying the Ale Bunny Blonde Ale, which is a tribute to Ed O'Neil--best known as an actor but also a former football player from Youngstown, OH. He even played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969 under the legendary Hall of Fame coach Chuck Noll, arguably one of the best NFL coaches of all time. Unfortunately, that beer wasn't available during our visit either. It's possible we caught them on an off day, but despite that, the woman we spoke with was incredibly kind and welcoming. She shared that they've been open for four years, and I can definitely see this being a popular spot in the warmer months with the right atmosphere and offerings. We'll likely give it another try in the summer to see how the experience compares.

I'd give this place 4 stars for the wine and 2 stars for the atmosphere…read more I was excited when I saw this place from the outside. It looks like an old barn, and you could see the vines as soon as you drove in. There was also a nice seating area to the side. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside, so we made our way in. The tasting room is small and unassuming, though the staff was friendly and personable. After our tastings, we went into the seating area. There was really nothing to it-some old couches and tables that looked second hand, concrete floors, and a bathroom that had a portapotty inside (yuck). Overall, it felt like an old, cold basement where you didn't really want to hang out. On the plus side, the wine was really good. I rarely go to wineries in Ohio and enjoy each wine in the tasting, but I did here. My mom and I even want to go back before the holidays to buy some bottles as gifts-that's how much we liked it. Overall, I'd say the wine makes this place worthwhile, but come when it's warm and sit outside or take your wine to go.
