After trying on my own to hang a medicine cabinet in my bathroom and drilling a huge hole in my wall; Modern Masters Painting came to the rescue! All it took was a text on Monday and Clancy was at the house by Wednesday with the tools and the know-how to fix the hole and hang the cabinet. It looks wonderful (see picture below)! I highly recommend! This isn't the first time Clancy at Modern Masters Painting has helped me out. In the past he helped with gutter issues at the house, moved a China cabinet up a flight of stairs after the flood in my basement, and assessed the damage and gave me a quote on replacing the floor after the flood. Modern Masters Painting isn't only about painting. Clancy and crew did an outstanding job in staining my deck. I recommend them and will use them again

I recently fixed the foundation of my 100-year old house, which had caused severe cracks in the living room ceiling and walls. After allowing time for the foundation repair to "settle", I contacted Modern Masters Painting for an estimate to repair the living room plaster and paint. Clancy quoted a solution for the ceiling problem: remove sagging sections and patch in new drywall, secure the rest of the ceiling with plaster washers and screws, and then skim coat to create a flat ceiling. The quote also included prepping/painting the walls, windows and trim in the living room, and installing/painting oak baseboard in the living and dining rooms. The job took 9 days to complete and they knocked it out of the park. They renovated both the living and dining rooms and it turned out beautiful. In addition to the repairs and paint, Clancy took care to ensure every detail was addressed and installed heat registers and outlet / switch plate covers, patched in missing pieces of oak flooring, and installed oak door casing / door jamb where none existed. He even fixed the deadbolt on the front door to make sure it locked correctly. I'm very happy with their high quality work and attention to detail, plus Clancy and John were easy to work with - on time every day, etc. Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend Modern Masters Painting for anyone looking for painters. Clancy and his crew really came through for us. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with our interactions with MMP. He is very responsive, honest, and reasonably priced. We had a deal fall through with another contractor and thankfully for us, Clancy happened to get a cancellation so he was able to fit us in. We had time constraints for the work on our house and were in a hurry to paint the common areas of the house, do random touch up paint, picture mounting and bathroom and kitchen caulking. We found a number areas that were not to our expectations and we pointed them out and they were corrected immediately. Excellent value for their services. We're so happy with MMP, we will be using them again in a month to do more work for us. read more

My ceiling definitely needed to be repaired and painted because of water overflow from my jacuzzi upstairs. Lesson learned: don't let friends use jacuzzi at your party! Modern Masters came in and repaired it on schedule. They did some projects from me in the past and was referred by a good friend so this review was due. The first job they did was repairing the ceiling seams of my top-floor unit that didn't last 2 years when it was newly constructed. Clancy got his team here to repair and it's still holding up after 10 years. He's always given me a competitive price and runs a reputable and honest company. I will surely use him again. read more

Hard working Crew & absolute perfect results! This is our first time using Modern Master Painting, and we did not really know what to expect. Clancy came recommended from another high quality Park Ridge area painter, as themselves he was unable to complete ours in quick turnaround. We needed our full apartment painted, Ceiling to baseboard, including painting 7 pairs of doors from dark wood finish to white. All trim, baseboards and of course walls. We threw a mixture of paint tasks (pun intended) at Clancy & Modern Masters, our walls were a mess after long time renters. I was worried. but fear not a week later, the apartment was ready and literally the transformation was amazing. Guy knows his stuff! Uses the right product for the right task, and Clancy and John worked very hard, to get absolute splendid results. We shopped around for painters and Clancy came in in came in with a very competitive price. Coming from a perfectionist and amateur painter, I know that if i attempted to paint the apartment myself it would have taken me 3 weeks. These guys worked very hard, on time, punctual and worked very hard to finish it in 5 days. When i patch, I can always find the hole after the new color is put on , after MMP finished, i could have not found the holes or protrusions in our walls, this is what I was worried about, but fear not these guys know their trade, and again the owner is not afraid to get dirty and work along with his crew. Calm, professional and super quality results. You cannot go wrong with Modern Masters. He even clearly labeled all paint used and left me with extras in case of some minor touch up is needed. Will try to provide pictures after the whole apartment is done! Thanks again for a job well done! read more

I was looking to update my kitchen cabinets for the sale of my condo. Clancy and his team gave my cabinets a great look as well as helping with new hardware installation. I had my place on the market for 5 months before this work was done. After the work was done I had an offer in 2 weeks. I really believe the fresh modern look Clancy gave my kitchen helped with the quick sale of my condo. read more

If I could put flashing lights and balloons on a review I would do. My experience with Modern Masters was Excellent. The work is gorgeous. The crew was professional, friendly and respectful of our space and our things. I will definitely have them back to paint my upstairs this spring. Thank-you Clancey and team! You guys did a fantastic job! read more

I worked with Clancy on a huge remodel project in my family room. I bid the project out to 3 top Yelpers, and Clancy's came in the most competitive with added value of coordinating a plumber, carpenter, and electrician. I could not be more pleased with the end result! An old bar was torn out with the drywall patched, a column built, all windows/trim/walls painted, and even our stone fireplace was beautifully painted as well. Our old square lights were replaced with circular recessed lights (and 8 more cans put in place). The job took two weeks, which included two days for carpet guys. Clancy was easy to work with, fast in responding, and really cares about a good detailed job done right. I will definitely continue to work with him on future projects and recommend anyone to do the same. read more

I've been meaning to post this review for a while because of the great work this company did on my condo. I bought the top floor of a new-construction 6-unit building. I noticed the seams started to peal off the ceiling due to settling after 1 year. At the time I didn't really know any painters so I irrationally hired a guy soliciting for work outside of Home Depot. What a mistake!! He did the necessary repairs to my entire ceiling but a year after the seams came off again. After I got what I paid for from that guy I wanted to find someone reputable and a friend referred me to Modern Masters painting. Clancy and his team came by, gave me a fair estimate and guaranteed it to last 5 years. I requested if minimal dust was doable during their project because of my allergies and he used a special type of compound which limited the amount of dust. They also cleaned up their work after each day which is a good indication of a competent contractor. The seams still look like the day he worked on them and this is a roof ceiling, which gets abused from the inclement weather so I could not be happier. I referred this company to my neighbor who was ecstatic with their work as well. Keep up the good work MMP! read more

This was our second time using Modern Masters Painting to paint rooms in our condo and I recommend them 100000%. Clancy is extremely professional and responsive. The painting was done quickly and looks absolutely perfect. Communication was incredibly easy. The price was very reasonable. Clancy made everything so easy for us and had our condo looking brand new in a matter of days. I highly recommend! read more

Stood up -- bummer! I was asked if someone could stop by to take a look at my project in person (resulting in a more accurate quote). First meeting was rescheduled (totally fine!), second meeting was a no show/ no call/ no text. read more

Clancy was great at my parents house. Anytime we need a great painter again he will be the first to call.!!!!

Is it this hard to find good painters? Well apparently . After getting pushed back and forth on start dates from 2 other painting contractors for almost a month I searched on yelp and found MMP . Clancy responded to my request for a quote to repaint my house and I received a estimate and projected start time that fit my needs within a day. This was last week. House is 1700sq ft and has a lot of trim and doors. They are on day 2 of prep and prime already and I can tell I made the right decision. I will keep you posted with the finished product and pics read more

We used MMP for a number of projects at our house. Clancy was responsive, transparent, honest, and pleasant to work with. Quality of work is great. read more

When I first met Clancy, I was impressed by his concern for details in estimating a proposal. Our house required more than just painting. Several sections of cedar siding on the second floor had to be replaced. These were not small sections, but 4 foot by 10 feet long. The front doors had been stained, sealed, and resealed several times. They looked it. Clancy's crew stripped the doors down to bear wood and refinished them. The whole crew was concerned about doing a great job and worked meticulously preparing and painting the second floor siding, trim and other parts of the house. Modern Masters Painting did a fantastic job restoring our house to the way it looked 30 years ago. If we ever need painting either outside or inside, we will definitely call them. Again, thank you Modern Masters Painting for a great paint job. read more

Working with Clancy and Modern Masters was the best experience I could ask for. They were fast and responsive getting a quote for a pretty large project. He stuck with the timeline and quote. They even were able to work around my schedule when there was a simultaneous floor project that required them to stop working for a few days. Lastly, we had an issue related to extreme temperatures that caused them to have to return a month after completion and he did so for no charge because he cares so much about his work being pristine, which it very much is! Thank you Clancy!! read more

Clancy was immediately responsive, professional and the pricing was spot on. His team of painters were friendly, trustworthy, operated with a lack of clutter, were communicative throughout the entire process and worked at the perfect pace. The job itself was impeccable. We were very happy with the 2-day project and look forward to using Modern Masters Painting for our next painting project. read more

I recently purchased a home that needed an extensive amount of work...the walls in a couple of the rooms had a tremendous amount of water damage...they were bubbling, and pealing to the point that I thought I would have to replace everything... So I had a couple companies come out for estimates.. $$$$$$ is all I can say...outrageous quotes..!.. Then I was referred to Modern Masters from a neighbor of mine that had nothing but good things to say...I was still a bit skeptical, but I ended up getting a hold of Clancy...he came by for the estimate and explained to me what needed to be done....nothing like the shananagins that were there prior...he quoted me a great price for the entire house...long story short... 2 days later, Clancy and his crew came in and went to work...these guys were prompt, clean, detail orientated and basically made the place shine..you would have never known there was water damage and my wife and I would recommend these guys to anyone...!! read more
