Treated my bf to a pedicure here on Valentine's Day. I've been seeing so many positive reviews on TikTok and had to try the place ourselves. Well worth the hype. We received the aroma therapy pedicure. One of the best pedicures we've ever had in our lives. It was a bit pricer than a regular pedicure $65 (+$15 extra for gel) but absolutely worth the price for the hour service. They also have a nice complementary drink menu which definitely added to the experience. It genuinely felt like a luxurious experience and I swear my feet haven't felt softer. I recently went to this nail establishment and I was happy at the number of techs they have on hand. They remind of the nail place that used to be located in the mall. I went on a Saturday after the holiday and the establishment was busy but, my tech Alex was so sweet and she finished my nails in no time. They have lots of nail polishes to choose from. They have plenty of pedicure packages which I plan on getting on my next visit. The same for your nails. You can't miss the location right in the promenade shopping center in Bessemer. read more

Well, this shop is close to home. A plus. It has dozens of employees, so there is usually little to no wait. That is a plus too. What I have found is that the older ladies (who I seem to get stuck with) are not good at either manicures or pedicures. I have had 2 or 3 of these older ladies and they all have cut my skin, trimmed back my nails too far - which hurts. The one that I had yesterday pulled her mask under her chin through the entire manicure. Customers have to wear a mask but not the employees?? I have come to this Salon often for the past 10 years. I've been coming to this place for a few months now and have found that it's easy to get in and out. I haven't seen too many people sitting around waiting. The manicurist seem to manage the client's services appropriately. Like with anything, the prices have increased but the quality is there so it all evens out. The atmosphere is pleasant enough. I'm not sure if Wi-Fi is available for customers but I hope it's offered without a fee. This place appears to treat everyone the same, with respect. This place needs to be shut down, and I will be contacting the Alabama Board of Cosmetology to see what can be done. If you value the use of your hands, DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON. On Saturday, 12/28, my fiance went to this salon for a manicure and pedicure. The woman who did his manicure scrubbed his fingers with the emery board until he bled, cut his nails down past the quick, and cut a huge gash out of his pinkie finger (see photos attached). When he was bleeding, she simply kept going. When a customer expresses pain, YOU STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING. There is no language barrier to body language and the expression of physical pain--this woman simply didn't care. When he went to the manager to express his discontent, she told him to wait for 30 minutes while she finished up another patron. Fine. Other customers must be serviced, and it is understandable to wait your turn to be addressed. An hour and a half passed. When he requested a refund, the manager sharply started to exclaim that sometimes when you're getting your nails done, you'll bleed--basically told him to get over it and that his pain was no big deal. She also exclaimed that no refund would be issued. When he expressed his discontent with that, she began speaking in Vietnamese with a horrible, derogatory attitude rather than addressing his concern as a customer. Her body language was aggressive and aggravated, rather than concerned that one of her techs had physically harmed a patron. She then took him to sit at a booth to have the problem corrected (is it possible for a nail tech to grow someone's skin back??????????????), then she sent the SAME WOMAN WHO RUINED HIS FINGERS TO FIX THE ISSUE. Rather than resolving the issue as the person in-charge, she simply dumped him off to the person who did a terrible job in the first place. To add insult to injury (literally), the cuticles weren't even pushed back, there was no buffing of the nails, and the ends of his nails were ragged and scraped. I have gathered all involved parties' cosmetology license numbers. This will not be the last Model Nail Spa hears from me; however, in the meantime, patronize this dump at your own risk. If they treat patrons this way to their faces, imagine what type of crap they have going on behind closed doors (poor sanitation practices come to mind--this type of negligence doesn't stop at face-value). One minute ago They do acrylics good and shape well but i don't think that they are very clean. Took them off after a fill in and two of my nails are brownish green. I never hit those two nails hard enough for them to bruise so at this point, i think it's fungus. read more

I got a deluxe pedicure from Tony who was amazing!! He took his time on my feet & was magical with the massage! I'd give model nails 0'stars if I could. There are far better options to choose than here. You're better off ordering a kit off of Amazon and doing your mails yourself. The staff is incredibly rude, they will hang up in your face instead of trying to provide a solution. They allow a minor to speak to patrons any kind of way and make comments like "I don't know how to help her if she keeps complaining". Well I don't know how you'll stay in business if you keep operating this way. Every bit of my $92 worth of service was half assed. I tried to extend grace because it is a holiday weekend, but when I returned 4 hours later because my nails had begin to chip... it was a problem. Also, I was thinking the phone call was being dropped. It wasn't. The receptionist was hanging up on me and ignoring my calls. I know this to be true because once I decided to just go back to the salon due to the lack of respect I was receiving by phone... I sat in the salon and didn't see her take a phone call the whole time I'm was there. I just wanted the two nails repaired, although if we're being honest the work was terrible and i should've asked that it was all redone, I didn't because grace. I understood being kind and patient. Do not go to this place!!! The lady who did my toes told me I could get the same color on my toes as my nails. I get dip on my nails and gel on my toes. They did not have the same color. That was not the problem. The lady who was going to do my nails could not find a color to match. She asked me was I getting a full set. I said yes. She said well your just making it even harder on us why don't you just get gel then. I told her well don't worry about it since you don't want to do it. I have been using this salon for about 6 months now. However, my last few experiences have been bad enough to send me elsewhere. I am not sure what fumes they use, but I have never once gotten sick in a nail salon until now. The last three times, I have had to leave because I felt so nauseous. This last time, I was trying to stick it out because I thought surely something is wrong with me. However, I asked the nail tech not to cut my real nail while removing tips. Not only did she cut my nails, but she cut them so deep I bled on two different fingers. I politely asked her to stop cutting my nails and have someone else come over. I went in today to have a fill-in on the acrylic nails I just had put on 2 weeks ago and dip powder polish. I told the male nail tech Tony that what I needed and that I wanted my nails a little shorter. Not realizing what he was doing he placed my hands in baggies full of acetone and destroyed my new acrylic tips. He then asked me if I wanted new tips. When I asked why he took off the ones I had when I did not ask him too, he said "you want shorter". I said all you had to do was file them down. I was so upset that I just had him do the did powder on my natural nails. He charged me 45$. This did not even include a manicure and he was RUDE!!! He had the audacity to ask when I hit No tip when I paid, wasn't going to leave him a tip!! Absolutely not! He destroyed tips that should have lasted me months, and intended to charge me for new ones, did not perform the service I asked for, and way over charged for what he did provide. My fiance is currently working in bessemer and I desperately needed my nails filled. I went it and the service was horrible. They don't speak good English and don't even try talking to you. She seemed to be in such a rush like I was an inconvenience. She was so rough using the files she left open gouges in 3 fingers. The paint was missing in areas and so see through that it really should only be used as a coat overlay. I was charged before they were done the job and asked for a partial refund but was DENIED!
