Mode has some of the best pasta I'd tasted in Sacramento. The vegan options are incredible, there is really something for everyone.

So excited this gem is in my neighborhood! Beautiful and delicious HANDMADE food paired with wonderful beer brewed on site...what more could you want? The food offers something for everyone. From wonderful Apps to paninis to pizzas to even salads. Their homemade soup looked incredible, too. We had the impossibly light and flavorful beer battered artichokes and yummy polenta fries. We also had the short rib parpadelle and it was absolutely heart warming and so fresh. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu! Mode has the most delightful and homey vibe with some community seating. It was raining when we went so we were not able to sit outside in their quaint and lovely patio. You can't tell that Mode is a family affair and they have taken care to make sure the experience here is a great one. You walk into Mode and you're instantly greeted by welcoming and friendly faces from the kitchen (with a good truck facade and vibe) on the right side, the brewery across the room on the left side and the wonderful woman helping to clear the tables. Great food, great beer, great vibes! Well done, Mode! Can't wait to come back to see you soon! Update: we came back and tried the Godfather panini and the Italian Stallion pizzetta. Both were great. I know this is mode brewing and the beer is good but the food is AMAZING! I never tried the original food truck but am kicking myself now. We had the polenta fries and the great white pizza with bacon added. Loving this little spot and that's it's walking distance from me! Patio looks huge can't wait to enjoy it come some warmer weather. read more

The food has been outstanding the two times we have gone but the beer had a bitter taste. During both visits we tried a variety of beers and they all were not smooth or refreshing. In pouring them many glasses of foam were discarded to obtain a full glass of beer and appropriate head. We keep trying the beers but they seem content with their product. We checked out this awesome restaurant Saturday night and we were very impressed with the food, atmosphere and service. The prices are fantastic and the portions are very large. There were three of us and we started with some cider and appetizers. The menu is quite extensive, and they have several gluten free options also. We had beer battered artichoke hearts with a meyer lemon aioli sauce, for $8 you get a very large platter full. I personally had the polenta carnitas, so so good, but way to much for one person. Tracy, one of the owners came to our table to check on us and she was so friendly and told us the story of how they started. It was very interesting. So happy to have such a unique restaurant in our small town. We will be back!!!! read more

We finally tried the food at Mode. It is fabulous. The flavor, texture, presentation, and everything about it is high end, original, and just delicious. We used to have to go to Folsom, or Mid-Town/Downtown Sacramento for food like this. It is high end without a high end price. THANK YOU Randy and Tracy for making Orangevale Mode's home. Today was my husband and I's first time, and we will be back! Let's start with the service. I should've asked her name, but the woman at the food register was one of the most friendly people I've come across in a while! She made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We LOVED the Mac and cheese, the fried artichokes were yummy too!! The beer was great, and I also loved the blueberry cider. The outdoor space was a perfect size. I loved that it wasn't too packed yet still was full of energy. I'm glad we stopped in, we're not too far so I could see this becoming a regular spot to stop! read more

Love this new place in Orangevale!!! The staff was super friendly and the food was fantastic!!!! The prices are very reasonable and the quality is excellent. I had the short rib Ragu pasta which was some of the best I've ever had!!! This is the type of establishment that Orangevale needs more of - casual, good food and beer!!! It was packed on a Thursday night so I hope that's a good sign that they will be around for a long time. Please support our local small businesses!!! Food is great but the beer has some issues. 1st it was warm and had a large head. I had the hazy and couldn't finish it cause it was just bad. I tried the IPA and it wasn't terrible but can't say much more than that. The red was pretty good I want it to be good so I will go back but improvements are required for sure. read more

Delicious! We will absolutely be back! Ordered for pick up, took about 20 minutes so perfect timing for us to drive over. Looked like smaller portions at first but ended up being perfect size for the 4 of us. Got 3 of the pasta fusions, the hog wild pizza (FAVORITE!) and polenta fries. All amazingly good. Rich flavors and overall extremely tasty. One down side however, I am allergic to almonds and had a reaction to the carnitas pasta. We ended up calling to ask and they told us there are slivered almonds in the sauce, YIKES. I think it would definitely be important to note a nuts allergen on the menu moving forward. read more

I got a hazy beer here and it looked funny when it was poured but it tasted fine so I drank it. About 2 hours later, I started feeling sick. I then vomited 3 times that night and had terrible adnominal pain, and nausea that lasted a week. I called to inform them of this that night and was dismissed rudely and told "well, we have never heard this before from anyone before". I wasn't seeking anything from them, but to inform them of the bad batch of beer but she insisted it wasn't from the beer. I really liked the vibe of the place but unfortunately after getting food poisoning, I will not be returning or recommending to anyone else. read more

We have a gem in Orangevale that snuck in unassumingly and literally allowed the food to speak for itself. I really like what it has to say. The taste and quality are high end but the price is just right. The menu is seasonal and I am currently hooked on the Harvest Cal Ital pasta with butternut squash and sauce that is so light and tasty. I also like the Veggie Pesto, carmelized onion dip and house made chips and pizzas. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. read more

The food was good and all homemade right on site all the way down to their sauces and pasta. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I very much got the impression it was a family operation. I tried a couple of the ciders but they also brew their own beer. They have a very casual picnic area outback under a big tree just don't wear your favorite shoes because the picnic area is in the dirt. read more
