My son has many allergies to foods so when we have pizza night at home he get his 'friendly pizza'. Well tonight we got out to the car and he wanted a piece on the way home so I opened the box. Right in the middle is a kernel of corn, which happens to be one of his allergens. I brought the pizza right back in and told the gentleman what had happened and he said ok took the box and whipped up another pizza right away for us. Let me know if I add a note when ordering they can make sure nothing like that happens again. You can still be "super fast" and still take the extra couple seconds to quality check. My pizza was burned on the bottom to the point where the burn taste overwhelmed the pizza and my gf's dough was undercooked. We ordered delivery tonight at 7:22pm. Tbh I would take "takes a little bit" instead of "super fast" to avoid this experience again. 2 stars because the cheesy bread was good and 1 star because the drinks arrived cold. I wonder if this was known and sent out anyway cus they were delivery and who would take the time to come down just for lazy made pizza. While we were here, we waited in line for 30 minutes before ordering our food. The staff was friendly, but not good with hygiene. My friends had raw pizza, and one of them found a hair on them. Mine was perfect, but they said as we were going through toppings, "I wouldn't get the red onions, they're not fresh." While I appreciated the heads up, I found that a little off putting and made me not trust what was actually going on my pizza. Maybe take the onions off the line or get fresh ones. The lady who had long braids was awesome, but the guys and the lady who was baking the pizzas need to learn how to go faster and not touch their face and/or not sneeze and touch food right after. read more

Pizza didn't have much mozz on it and was pretty disappointing on the toppings as well. There just wasn't much of anything on it. Asked for garlic but didn't taste like there was any at all. Only 4 slices of pepperoni on the whole thing! The spicy sauce was good and the crust nice and crispy without being burnt, but the lack of enough toppings and cheese made it pretty meh for the price, hence the 3 stars. At Mod Pizza, a National chain, you can build your own pizza from an array of sauces, cheese and toppings. Like a "subway" but with pizza. You can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. A really good deal when you think about how most pizza joints add $1.50 for each additional topping. The crust is thin, which is my preference, and I like that I can have my pizza exactly as I prefer. I always do red sauce and ask for extra, spread all the way to the edge. Fresh mozzarella, dollops of ricotta, pepperoni and fresh basil is my norm and it always comes out piping hot with a crisp yet chewy crust. They also offer salads and it's the same build your own deal with as many and as much if the toppings you want. Clean location. Friendly and efficient staff. read more

The concept is great; order your pizza and add as many toppings you want for one price. It is similar to a Subway set up, with fresh toppings and lots of options. First of all I would just like to say I generally don't love restaurant chains, particularly fast food chains. The food quality tends to be low, and they tend to be owned by folks who don't even live in the community. I have mixed feelings on MOD. They are hip, fast, and it's quite nice for each person in your group to customize their own pie, exactly how they want it. It's also great that these businesses are beginning to move into The Dalles. We need more choice, as choice is good. Having said that I hate the pressure these out of town businesses put on the local mom and pops. If we don't support locally owned business we won't have any locally owned businesses, and that will be a very sad day. The food quality at MOD really is low. Processed toppings and unappealing crust makes for a very bland pizza, with high fat and sugar content. However, that is what fast food is, so there you have it. It's still about balancing speed, quality, and price, and MOD does that reasonably well. The service so far has been really good. These folks are trying super hard, and it shows. The 3 times I went the experience was about the same. Enthusiastic service but disappointing pizza. My pizza was over cooked the first time, undercooked the second, and just about right the 3rd. If you're looking for a quick meal, under $10, MOD is worth a try, however please consider carefully where you spend your money. Locally owned business need your support. What can I say, I wasn't expecting much. I expected with all the hype I'd be disappointed. WRONG! A few things they could improve on is explaining the mod process a tad better before ordering, they explained the basics but we felt a bit rushed, the plates had flecks of dirt on them that you use for pizza (it wasn't anything major and they weren't dirty) just like things get on stuff when they sit out. Also I really wish their water cups had lids. Or offer people with kiddos if they want the normal cups for water. I know it's to keep people from drinking soda when they don't pay for it, but it was a struggle to get my toddler to drink it without spilling. They however were sorry about it and gave us a normal cup and a ding dong cup cake (to die for) for the confusion. The customer service was fabulous, it was fast. the pizza was phenomenal and the black berry lemonade was out of this world. We will be back again and again! BRAVO read more
