Updated: Not 5, not 10, Hi-Way House is Oregon's first 20-STAR dining experience. The oysters Rockefeller are simply the best ever for both their presentation and delectable scrumptious taste. Clam Chowder? OMG, this is the perfect balance that's not too creamy and not too thin. French Sav Blanc and boneyard IPA paired perfectly with this incredible cuisine. THE BIGGEST BONUS....our servers Jayme & Mary Ann. Mary Ann, a cheerful dining & cuisine encyclopedia. And Jayme (reunited after 20 years) the sweetest and ALWAYS smiling, makes the energizer bunny look slow, was voted CHAMPION in WORLD'S BEST SERVER competition (by my wife & I) is icing on the cake. Yes, Hi Way House....20 STARS. That just happened.

I pick places based on food not the looks or how big the company may be. This place was a hidden gem and intimate spot. it was close to where we were staying and it was unexpectedly amazing. Normally I have to sacrifice a good wine for great food when it's a smaller restaurant but NOT this place. Our waiter gave us great recommendations and had our BEST carrot cake I have ever tasted!! From owner to staff, we needed this experience after visiting OR for work and work kept getting delayed and drove 3 days straight... it's a must visit and allow restaurant to give you ideas based on specials or favorite dishes! You won't be disappointed!! My only con is that they don't open for lunch :' (

We had an amazing time!!! Great food, drinks, and customer service!!! We were disgusted to hear a patron insult a waitress! Of course, he appeared intoxicated. It was jaw dropping!!! We had such a great experience, but it was interrupted by the rude customer.

Beat that price for a top end steak house!

This family owned steak house has been in operation since 1940, and is really a hidden gem. I almost passed it by because of the cheesy name, but that would be a mistake. This place is out of the 1970s, with plush red leather plush booths, and historic photos on the wall. It is a small, low volume restaurant- it looks to do 1 dinner per night per table--with excellent service and unexpected perks -- like complimentary homemade huckleberry ice cream at the end of the meal! What 2023 restaurant passes on the profit center of desserts? This one. A good $25 steak with all the fixins? The Top Sirloin was excellent. Great clam chowder. The Coconut shrimp were some of the best we ever had. If I lived here this would be my regular spot.

Chicken Parmesan

I tried something different today. I have not done my solo dates in almost 3 months and today I decided to treat myself. I got here half an hour before they closed, which I didn't know, and they made me feel so WELCOMED about it. I usually do the chicken bianco but today I decided to do the chicken Parmesan. When I say it's worth it, it really is. I'm particular about my Alfredo sauce. And this one did the job! Plus... their customer service is seriously amazing! The bartender really shows that she truly cares.

Breakfast inside a beautiful 123 year old stone church…read more I adore churches, nuns, priests - all of it - and I especially love historic spaces that have been thoughtfully transformed. This one is full of charm and soul, and if you're always searching for something special, it's absolutely worth your time. We came in for breakfast, just as they opened, before heading to nearby wineries. The lox bagel was delicious. My open-face biscuit was out of this world - rich, buttery, and layered with airy, flaky perfection. It came topped with an over-easy egg with perfectly runny yolk, savory bacon, creamy avocado, green onions, and a red pepper aioli that added just a touch of heat. Our coffees were also great, and my sweet hive latte with cinnamon was one of the best iced lattes I've ever had. The interior is spacious and serene, filled with natural light, tall ceilings, and plenty of happy plants. I love what they've done with this historic landmark - it feels peaceful, and inviting. Service was as warm as the sunshine. Open daily for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood. Thank you for a beautiful and delicious morning.

The Riv has incredible potential, but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to the setting…read more The building itself is stunning--a beautifully restored historic church with a warm atmosphere, a great soundtrack, and even some of the original pews repurposed as seating. It's a unique space that's worth seeing. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The restaurant appeared significantly understaffed, and most of the menu items we wanted weren't available. Ordering and paying at the counter isn't necessarily a problem, but for a restaurant of this size it creates an inefficient experience and leaves guests without much support once they've ordered. Once the food arrived it 45-minutes later, it was underwhelming and looked like items from a grocery store deli. I hope they're able to address the staffing and kitchen issues, because the venue deserves a dining experience that matches its character. Until then, hesitate to go.

When I was young, I had the opportunity to live on Oahu with my dad when he was called up for active duty at MCB Kaneohe Bay in 2002 and have had many plate lunches while I was there. I got the Big Kahuna; from the first bite I was instantly transported back in time and across the pacific to Oahu to Hawai'i. Mac Salad was amazing, proteins were perfect, and the rice is better than my own sticky rice. Cole slaw was phenomenal, tangy, zesty, crisp and crunchy and those Hawaiian chips were absolutely delicious. Mahalo.

She said when she takes this drive she always stops here. I love Hawaiian food so we agreed. It is street parking but we were able to find 2 close spots. The place was clean. There was 7 of us so a little hectic especially with 2 young kids. You walk up and place your order. The young man there was very friendly and patient with us. We ordered 3 meals to split. We got the salmon, chicken and combo plate and my daughter said to request extra macaroni salad. Very generous portions. The food was delicious and the teriyaki sauce was real good. I'm not much into the macaroni salad but this was good. I definitely would recommend this place!

The Mr and I opted for the burger special which included a cheeseburger, fries, and a beer for $18.95 (I think) and S had a French dip, while M had a BBQ sandwich. Our burgers were excellent and the fries were salty and crisp - just the way I like them. I was only able to eat half of my burger. The next morning I regretted not bringing the leftovers with me. I'd have eaten them for breakfast. Haha M seemed to enjoy his sandwich, but S was disappointed in hers. It didn't come with any sides. She felt like she should have gotten fries or cole slaw. Service was friendly. The location is a little strange. It was actually tucked into an industrial area. If we didn't know it was there and have a GPS, we'd never have found it. However there was live music outside and it appears to be a favorite with the locals.
