Dining here was a delightful experience = entering a small, obscure restaurant with wonderful staff (thank you Jessica), and *absolutely out of this world delicious food is such a perk! For starters, we had the bruschetta, which was fresh and delicious. From there we moved on to the house salad, with blue cheese dressing. For our mains; (the real) Mr. Wonderful had the chicken parmigiano and I had the lasagna. Generous servings of incredibly superb food. I usually prefer my own lasagna but actually liked this one better. One of us was able to enjoy coffee and a cannoli, (it wasn't me) I brought home leftovers. We would seriously drive back to Goldendale, Washington, just to eat at D'Avanzo's and highly recommended this little gem! read more

Wow! We were recommended this spot by two different friends and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly, prompt, and professional. We sat outside since we had a dog with us. I asked for dog water and the waitress brought chilled waters for us and a purposefully room temp glass of water for the dog which was thoughtful. The chicken fettuccine alfredo and pesto pasta with mushroom were delicious! Wonderfully creamy and rich. The bread was tasty too, especially paired with the herbed butter. The food was great, lots of garlic and a huge meatball. Just the right amount of food and the right price. Val's pasta with cheese was equally delicious and she had just the right sized serving. It was very cold outside and just about as cold in the restaurant, thus 3stars. Pretty plain decor even for Goldendale. I'm not a fan of tables and chairs but that was the only choice, no booths. I might go back if I were up that way as the food was great, but there are plenty of restaurants in Portland. read more

This is a great restaurant and we're lucky to have them here. We had the Chef's Ultimate Baked Trio and it had great flavor with perfect al dente noodles. The baguette was good. The Caesar's salad is among the best. The only other best was at the Glass Onion. Now I don't have to make a trip all the way to the Tri-Cities for their great Caesar's salad because a great Caesar's salad can be found at D'Avanzo's. Although Goldendale isn't quite considered the Gorge, it is among the best restaurants in the Gorge area and worth the drive. read more

I'll try to keep it short and to the point. For the past year or so my mother and I have been wanting to try this place. It's about 50 minute drive from where we live. In April my father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and decided to move back to the gorge to spend his remaining time with his family. A few weeks ago he told my mother that for her birthday(sept 10) he was going to take her here. They both LOVE Italian food. Sadly we lost him August 24th. My mom and I decided we would take each other on a date for him. It definitely didn't disappoint. It's a small quaint hole in the wall, as soon as you step in you are swept away by delicious, authentic Italian cooking. The atmosphere brings you to what I'd say is a small village in Italy, surrounded by laughter, fresh baked bread, and simmering tomato sauce. Our server (Jessica P, name sharing with me) was attentive, bubbly, and funny all while maintaining professionalism. She checked on us in the perfect amount of time, not too much but not too little. The food was amazing and so fresh. While I spent many years in a professional kitchen, I can say with 100% certainty that the portions are Huge. Many restaurants serve pasta by the ounces once cooked. Usually 8oz. My Alfredo was easily atleast 11oz of pasta. My mother got lasagna and it was fresh, and tangy like a good sauce should be. Her lasagna noodles were amazing. Not soggy, and not chewy. Which can happen if you don't know how to truly make pasta. For desert we shared a slice of lemon cheesecake. It was thick and so creamy. Wow. This restaurant is a true hidden gem. We went on a weeknight at the recommendation of our friendly motel clerk. The staff very kindly let us enjoy a full dinner when we arrived somewhat near closing. We began with the Bread Platter with herb butter and olive oil & vinegar which was outstanding. For our main courses we chose the Fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms and Creamy Pesto Pasta with chicken. Both were satisfying and flavorful. This restaurant was highly recommended by the receptionist at the hotel I stayed at. Why not, might as well try it, and who does not like Italian food?? Parking was easy in the small town, very quaint, open and safe! Walked in and the restaurant had that little family vibe. Well decorated and cozy. The lady asked how many in my party, just me, and was seated right away. I looked over the menu, had a few questions!!! I asked the waitress, what she thought of the lasagna, or the special? She said to try the lasagna, the receptionist at the hotel said the same thing. Si I ordered the lasagna and a meatball with my meal! It was amazing!!! The food was so tasty, hot and fresh, it t took me a long time to eat as I didn't want to rush this fantastic meal!! Service was great, waitress was so nice. I had to get to-go box, meal was much bigger than I thought. I brought it back to my hotel room and then about 2 hours later, didn't even think about microwaving it, just ate it cold, still awesome!!!! During my first visit to Goldendale, a relative talked us into going to their local Italian restaurant. D'Avanzo's. The food was perfect. It was like I had gone back to Italy once again. The restaurant is in their downtown area, in a very nice quiet location. The food, wine, and deserts were all amazing. We were honored to have Shannon and Phil, the proprietors served our meals. We went here before heading to the Goldendale Observatory. This place was a pleasant surprise just given the limited options in town. Our server was very attentive and made us feel right at home.
