I've been here twice now & had carne asada sopes both times, and they were soooo good…read more I found this place by accident. I was actually looking for a different taqueria in a different food cart mall, which I ended up finding a few weeks later. (But, for the record, Loncheria Jalisco is actually better than the other place, anyway.) Loncheria Jalisco is at 6th Street Station, which is an extremely small food cart mall with only about six pods. Most of the pods are closed most of the time, so most of the people eating here are coming for one specific cart. There is a very small central brick and mortar building with indoor seating which sells drinks and alcohol. I haven't personally been inside the building, but it looks a lot well better insulated than some of the others I've seen. It actually looks like a converted Wendy's. The first time I came here, I just ordered one sope. The second time, I ordered two. The sopes are a bit on the small side, but so is the price, at only $4. On top of the shell, they come with beans, meat, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado sauce (more like blended avocado/lime/cilantro than guacamole), cheese, and more salsa (on the side). Even though the guacamole was not quite guacamole, the flavor was fire. It was actually the perfect consistency for the sope. Once I added the tomatillo salsa, the flavors exploded. I had salsa dripping all over my hands, and didn't even care. It was so good. The cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream were all super fresh. The beans and meat were done right. While this wasn't the most impressive carne asada I've ever had, it was pretty decent for a fast food truck. These sopes were as good as I would expect to find from a food truck in Sacramento. Based on reputation, I didn't expect there to be much great Mexican food in Oregon, but I've been proven wrong. Prices are very reasonable-- maybe too reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if they go up a little bit. I love this place and would definitely come back again. I'm hoping to try their fajita burrito one of these days, if I can get there before they sell out. (Last time, they had sold out by 3!)

Located right on First, next to Randonne coffee, they have picnic tables behind the truck with stellar views of the Columbia. I've seen families bring wine and beer and enjoy tacos and burritos in this casual setting. There is another Mexican food truck in the parking lot next to Totem Pole Plaza. Chapalita's iopposite and you can park right in front of the truck or on 1st. I've had the carnitas burrito and the pork had a nice kick to it. Combined with beans, rice, guacamole, lettuce and sour cream, it was very satisfying. I've also had the carnitas tacos, made street style with your choice I'd meat, chopped onion, cilantro and lime, just the way I like them! They also serve birria tacos which are tacos with stewed meat and cheese, fried and served with a rich broth for dipping. They are all the rage these days. Both the red and green salsas they give you are wonderful. Ask for extra as the plastic containers are tiny. Service is fast and friendly. They take credit cards and sauce. I'm thrilled to have great Mexican food right in the center of Mosier, a tiny "Mayberry RFD" of a town with just a handful of food options. There is MoCo, a restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner Thursday-Sunday and serves pizza, burgers, salads and is excellent. Brenna's Market open everyday where in addition to groceries, beer and wine, you can get wraps and sandwiches. Randonne Coffee for rich and delicious coffee, breakfast sandwiches and the most buttery scones. And the two Mexican food trucks for burritos, enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, tortes, birria tacos and more. Whenever I'm in Mosier I stop at one or all of them! It's all about supporting local while enjoying the gorgeous scenery, hiking the trails and taking in the spectacular river views of this magical area.

Usually hesitant about food in small towns, but these were honestly the best tacos we've had in Oregon! We had our order within ten minutes even though there were so many people ahead of us, then sat at one of their many outdoor tables. My partner ordered the quesabirria for $12 -- this is a must order! It comes with salad and a heaping bowl of sauce. I ordered three tacos: carnitas, al pastor, and the veggie. I loved that the veggie option wasn't just beans like it usually is! They load it with potatoes, guac, and veggies. The meat was all juicy and flavourful. There wasn't too much fat in the al pastor, too! Overall, this was a lovely little spot to sit down and have a great meal after one of my favourite hikes!

Whenever I mention Mosier, people ask me if I've ever been to La Vaquita taco truck. Yes, frequently! Their street tacos are fabulous, the carnitas are my favorite. The meat is super flavorful and tender, topped with chopped onion, cilantro and a squeeze of lime, it's the perfect bite. Equally delicious are the burritos and tamales. Actually, everything is tasty and legit. Plenty of parking right in the lot. There are picnic tables for those that want to eat their food hot -that would be me. in the cooler weather, there is a heater. in the summer, there are covered areas. Went to a rehearsal dinner / block party in July and they hired La Vaquita to provide tacos, rice and beans for all the guests. Everyone raved! Perfect for after a hike or bike ride up a Rowena, the Twin Tunnels or the Mosier trail. Once they sell out, they close, so do get there before 3:00 on busy summer days.
