    Their truck

If you are not in a hurry, stop here for fresh made tacos, burritos and other Mexican eats. visited their colorful food truck at MuralFest in The Dalles, needing some protein to tide me over for dinner. Whenever I buy three street tacos elsewhere, I'm full after two so this time I ordered two carnitas tacos. Even though there was just one order ahead of me, it took a super long time. So long that I almost went to the window to ask if they forgot about me. When the tacos arrived, they were hot having been freshly cooked. The carnitas were flavorful, but nothing spectacular, just ok. They were served in two small corn tortillas, each taco three bites. Needless to say, I was still hungry and easily could have eaten three more. But no way was I going to wait that long again. While I may give them another try if I'm running errands by Home Depot, I'll probably order a burrito knowing the tacos are really small. But Tacos Tumbras will never be my go-to taco place since there are other Mexican Trucks and taquerias in The Dalles that serve fabulous tacos piled high with meat and take five bites to eat.

Really authentic. Taste just like the food I had in Guadalajara. Taste like abuelita made it with love. I had 2 grande tacos campechanas really good. I devoured them before taking a picture. The Sope was massive it was delicious. The spicy salsa is sooo hot and flavorful

This is a solid choice for taco trucks. The burritos are good and the tacos are decent. Service is friendly and the food is served reasonably soon. You'll be happiest with the meal if you have the right expectations. I eat here every now and then and haven't been disappointed yet.

I was actually looking for a different taqueria in a different food cart mall, which I ended up finding a few weeks later. (But, for the record, Loncheria Jalisco is actually better than the other place, anyway.) Loncheria Jalisco is at 6th Street Station, which is an extremely small food cart mall with only about six pods. Most of the pods are closed most of the time, so most of the people eating here are coming for one specific cart. There is a very small central brick and mortar building with indoor seating which sells drinks and alcohol. I haven't personally been inside the building, but it looks a lot well better insulated than some of the others I've seen. It actually looks like a converted Wendy's. The first time I came here, I just ordered one sope. The second time, I ordered two. The sopes are a bit on the small side, but so is the price, at only $4. On top of the shell, they come with beans, meat, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado sauce (more like blended avocado/lime/cilantro than guacamole), cheese, and more salsa (on the side). Even though the guacamole was not quite guacamole, the flavor was fire. It was actually the perfect consistency for the sope. Once I added the tomatillo salsa, the flavors exploded. I had salsa dripping all over my hands, and didn't even care. It was so good. The cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream were all super fresh. The beans and meat were done right. While this wasn't the most impressive carne asada I've ever had, it was pretty decent for a fast food truck. These sopes were as good as I would expect to find from a food truck in Sacramento. Based on reputation, I didn't expect there to be much great Mexican food in Oregon, but I've been proven wrong. Prices are very reasonable-- maybe too reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if they go up a little bit. I love this place and would definitely come back again. I'm hoping to try their fajita burrito one of these days, if I can get there before they sell out. (Last time, they had sold out by 3!)

We were most interested in a couple of the dishes, most notably the pettole and arancini. We walked up on a Sunday for lunch and none of the items we wanted were on the menu! The owner mentioned how she rotates all the menu items every month on the 15th, migrating between specialty dishes between regions of Italy for 11 months of the year, then bringing the customer favorites back for the last month. What a unique concept! Unfortunately most of the menu items available didn't interest us that much, so we ended up only ordering the tiramisu. Chef did offer us samples if we were interested which I appreciated. Tiramisu ($8) - The owner warned us when we ordered that she had just made the tiramisu around 30 minutes prior, so the espresso still needed time to soak into the ladyfingers. Electing to get lunch at a different spot, we ended up waiting about 2 hours before digging in. Unfortunately due to being kept cold in our cooler, the bottom layer of ladyfingers still hadn't reached the point of being soaked enough to be tender. Another hour or two outside of the cooler solved the issue. An $8 order contains a pretty large tiramisu square, hand cut and fit snugly into a takeout container. It's such a rich dessert that eating only about a third of it completely filled me up. It's creamy, it's tender, it's sweet, it's thick. It's night and day vs. store bought tiramisu, being probably two or three times the richness of mascarpone and cream, although not cloyingly so. The espresso soaks in well after a couple of hours, giving tenderness to the ladyfingers and an espresso taste that isn't bitter or acrid at all. Yum! (5/5) I don't eat tiramisu all that much, but I loved the one served at Pesco. Given that they have different menu items every month, it seems like this food cart is a great place to visit for plenty of variety. I'll have to keep an eye out the next time I'm in town!
