Make my MOD the P-funk, I wants to get funked up! Custom MOD that is, only $9.13 with tax and a bewildering array of toppings. Similar to Pieology and Blazed Fire, MOD is the newcomer to the area with another location in Redlands. I decided to finally give them a try after having a crisis of decision making about what to eat. Sound familiar? Let's see, Middle Eastern, nyet. Burgers? Uh uh. Pasta? Negatory. Pizza? Guess it's been a while, sure... but where? Another decision crisis followed until I figured out MOD was easy to access from where I was coming from. Parking is available but tricky since it shares the same lot as Starbucks. I walked into a rush. "Shit"! I thought, but once you park you're committed sometimes. The wait seemed interminable and I realized that only one girl was firing pizzas and there were about 12 pizzas on the prep table waiting to be cooked. Yikes! I didn't know how but somehow they snapped into gear and quickly dissipated the rush. Every employee was friendly and professional, no panicking at the rush, and I quickly designed my first pizza. Long story short, the girl made good topping suggestions and noted my desire for a slightly crisper crust. I paid and sat down expecting a long wait but it came up quite quickly and exactly how I wanted. I love the crust's texture and taste, different from Blazed. I love pizza especially if it's thin crust and cooked just right. Mod pizza does just that, they make some tasty pizzas.. I ordered the lunch special with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. Also added some garlic and olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper. BOMB. My daughter likes the bacon pizza also. I have never done that at a restaurant and I made a really good salad. You can put anything you want on either item. The service was good and the people were friendly. Five stars for customer service! We stopped in here around lunchtime on a Monday during a long road trip with our toddler who was having a tough time. One of the staff in particular- medium build guy with dark hair, possibly the manager- went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating. (Wish I'd gotten his name!) This is a frequent spot as a special treat when I'm craving pizza. Their gluten free dough is my favorite out of all the build your own pizza spots, especially for the price (which I think is just right). One star is docked because on a number of occasions they don't notify you when your order is ready for pickup. You gotta play the guessing game and sometimes they're good at having it ready on time, other times they take much longer than the anticipated "15-20 mins" you get in the app. Overall I still frequent this place and appreciate the service and food quality as a gf option. read more

Chris & Amanda are Very rude and unprofessional. I felt offended! I was picking up an order and I went to the pick up table to check if the order was ready. A guy, his name is Chris asked me not to look at the pick up table and asked me about the order name. I told him about the name and he said it's not ready and he is working on it. I waited long time seeing him handing other orders out to customers so I thought about taking a peek at the pick up table and found that my order was already out since the time I arrived. He saw me while taking a look at the table and in a rude way told me "Don't look at the table, I will let you know when it's ready" I told him that my order is already on the pick up table. Then I saw a worker, her name is Amanda and asked her to talk to a manager, she said Chris is the manager, I asked if I can talk to his manager, she said what's going on?! I told her about my experience and she was laughing while listening to me. When I asked her about the reason for laughing, she said she doesn't doesn't understand me! In this area so wanted to try this location. Parking is kinda tight as it shared it's lot with a few other businesss. Two handicap parking. A rating on the door. A few (8) outdoor seating. Greeted with a smile, hello and welcome. Great smell of pizza being cooked as you walk in is great. They have a big pizza oven which is impressive. Seating inside for about 45 or so. Clean tables, chairs and floor. The menu is wall mounted with plenty to choose from. You buy the foundation then the toppings are free and as many as you want. Great idea. Prices are very reasonable. Take out of stay for a while. Placed order and waited seems like only less then 5 minutes for our order. Our order was very fast and very hot. Tasting this pizza was very good and clean. This pizza franchise location is spacious and clean on the inside with a retro feel. They have a nice Bose sound system. The pizza was good. I came here for their gluten free option which I enjoy even though it was like dominoes gluten exposure. The staff is five star in their customer service. They all say "hi welcome" when you come in. By the way, they are all attractive women probably between 18 and 25 dressed tastefully in company t-shirts. If you are in the area of this MOD pizzeria I recommend giving it a try. Note: they have no power outletand for phones or computers. No monitorso. They do have outdoor seating. Also they have discounts for military. MOD Pizza is a create your own pizza place similar to Pieology & Blaze pizza with settle differences. For pizza I had the Mad Dog pizza with green peppers along with bread sticks. The Mad Dog pizza was alright, but nothing special. I would be curious to see if the BBQ pizza or some of the other pizza's are better. One thing I do like is that they have a pizza loyalty card which is something that their competitors don't have. The bread sticks are really thin, I would say my highlight sri ranch sauce, I dipped it on my pizza and breadsticks which tasted good. I'll give MOD Pizza another try anyhow. read more

I tried Mod Pizza in Oregon and was craving pizza since I saw the sign opening soon on my way to work everyday. I think one of the best build your own pizza chains. This new location is really good. Right next to Starbucks in Arlington ave. Since the shopping center is mainly for these two, easy to find parking unlike the other pizza places in Riverside Plaza or Tyler mail Staff is very friendly and like the loud welcome when you come in. Taking a deep breath before I get into how horrible this shop is. For clarification, this is the 3rd and FINAL time I will give this hell hole my money. Last time, the snippy man at the counter said, "no, we're out of that, and that, and also that (while the other girl went to the kitchen and restocked THAT.) The staff is lazy. This time, today, 5/23, we walked in, the ONLY people there, and we were ignored. Completely ignored. The girl behind the counter was busy making mini salads and could NOT even be bothered to say, "Hi, we'll be right with you." The rest of the staff was sitting at the bar tops, not giving one shit that we were there. So, we waited. And waited. And then we just walked out. A party of 3 pizzas that MOD will never get back. Just okay service this trip. It's a new place and the employees seemed to be tripping over each other. I'm sure that once the dust settles, routines will be set and service will be on point. The place is spacious with tons of seating, as well as a patio section overlooking Arlington--this will be great in the summer. They have Left Coast's Del Mar St. (lager) on tap, as well as a red and white wine. Their beverage station also has two different types of lemonades and teas, along with the usual soft drinks. They also have a good selection of bottled drinks to go. I ordered the #9, Caspian (their BBQ chicken pizza), without gorgonzola and added cilantro, bacon and pineapple--the pineapple was forgotten. The BBQ sauce had just the right amount of tang and sweetness--definitely a fan. One thing stood out was that their crust isn't greasy like Pieology or Blaze, and has a nice crunch. Located off the 91, next to a Starbucks and across the street from an LA Fitness (go figure). Place is clean, staff is extremely friendly. If you've never been to a build-your-own pizza spot, it's designed in a similar way to Subway. They'll make your pizza in front on you, and you can ask them to make your pizza any way you want. Or you can choose something from off the menu if you're not feeling creative. They all have a fixed price ($8.27 for a regular, $11.27 for a mega) so you can go all out with whatever you want on your pizza. Mileage may vary here though, I've been here three times and there have been people who were generous with toppings and some who were stingy. Pizza is good though, comes out quick. Crust is thin, crispy, and soft. Almost like a grilled pita bread. Toppings are all of good quality, it's very easy to get creative with how big their options are. All the meats are tasty and vegetables were always fresh. They also offer vegan/gluten-free/dairy free options if you're about that life. If you don't like thin pizza, they also offer a Mega Mod which is their normal pizza with a double crust. It's an interesting option, you're basically getting a second cheese pizza under a regular one. It's a bit misleading, since "double crust" sounds like a thicker crust. It's an interesting take on pizza in an area that's mainly either franchise stuff or your typical mom&pop place. Might not be for you if you prefer those types, or prefer pizza with a thicker crust. I've been here a few times already, and I'm sure I'll be coming back again in the future. It's worth a try if you're in the area. read more

Update: I have to edit my 5 star review after today's visit. Today was not so great! the girl behind he counter was extremely rude with a very abrasive attitude. When we got our pizza it was so thin and burnt it just crumbled into crumbs like an old cracker (and dry because the rude girl put the tiniest amount of toppings possible). I felt like I just spent $40 bucks on some burnt crackers and cheese. I have to retract my 5 star review. I don't think I can go back to this location for a while. (5 stars) Went here yesterday for the first time and was really impressed. Definitely my favorite of all the make your own pizza places around. The staff was so polite and helpful. The pizza was amazing and they have an awesome variety of toppings. As a bonus They don't burn your pizza to an inedible black charred mess like most of the other places. Pretty miserly with the ordered toppings and the pizza wasn't even sliced. Side salad was ok. Pizza 1 star, salad 3. Of the 3 with a similar concept, Blaze & Pizza Rev, a close 1 and 2. The flavors are great, and it tastes so much better with the care the staff put into making your food. My mom says that it tastes homemade, and it doesn't feel too heavy and I agree. This was going to be a 2-3 Star but it was saved and raised to a 4 because of what happened towards the end of my visit. Did a quick Drive-by to pick up two MODS Mega Dough pizzas. None of the Employees knew me, as I didn't recognize any of them. I understand the reason and attempts to make the Pizza fast, BUT, if you are rushing the pizza through to the next step in the preparation process, You are going at Blaze-ing speeds and should be working THERE instead. Fast should NEVER take it to that level. I noticed my Pizza had a lot more crust than usual with the ingredients concentrated towards the middle as if aiming for the Bulls-Eye. I usually go in the Evenings and this was around 1:30 and the Lunch rush was at it's tail end. After almost recieving my Pizza I did finally recognize one of the evening employees I usually see. Great conversation as always and genuine and sincere. It's NOT all about the Pizza, although it helps. The atmosphere and friendlines at the Arlington Restaurant has always got me going back when I am in the neighborhood. Have driven past this place several times but have never tried. My daughters school was doing fun raiser here and she insisted dinner be from there. The place was clean. The first person i got was real nice & patient explaining how i to order. A girl took over for him, she was a bit rude and in a hurry for me to finish my order (there was no one in line behind me). Probably the best BYO Pizza place that I've been to so far... It might not be saying much, but I've tried most of the main players like Blaze, Pieology and Pizza Press. To me, the main thing that sets these places apart is the crust and that's what makes MOD the big winner for me. The crust is thin and crispy, but still kinda doughy like a real Italian neapolitan pizza! One of the things I worry about with these places is that the pizza will get cooked enough and all the toppings heated through. MOD delivers on this front too, I've been three times now and all three times they've been cooked well! I like that they have signature pizzas, for when you are feeling lazy and/or worried about your pizza building ability! My favorite so far is the Caspian! The decor and vibe of this place is super hip and the workers all seem to be happy to be there and serve you pizza. LOVE that they have draft beer and wine too, you can even get a pitcher or a carafe. How did I almost forget, they have "nug" ice... if you don't know, then you need to learn! ;) It's the best! This location is super convenient and the parking and traffic is way better than Blaze at the plaza and PIzza:90 at Tyler Mall. My first time here today and I have to say the pizza was OK. The toppings were good but it felt kinda bland to me like it was missing something. It's more expensive than Blaze which is unfortunate as well. 3 stars for the lady who prepared my pizza, she was very sweet and helpful.
