I have gone to MOD a lot here in Oro Valley over the years and finally had to write a review. Whoever manages this place knows how to run a business. The employees are always friendly and over the top customer service oriented. And the food is always good. I switch from a make my own "pizza salad" to a MOD pizza. Perfect every time. Went there today 07/27/25 at around 12:30pm and the service was the worst i've ever had. from being rudely greeted to my pizza toppings being thrown around. there was no customer service curtesy and the service was slow. if im asking for and extra something after being offered and the staff rolls their eyes at me for doing something they're getting paid to do that's a place i refuse to eat at. MOD or, as I call it, MOD, sans caps, so mod. I've never been in their stores, but have done a few doordash and uber eats. This last one, has assured me, never to eat here again. I went with create your own pizza. Normally I go with vegan cheese, but the taste is a bit odd and each time I think, nah it's just Daiya whose pizza cheese is whacked. I think it's Daiya cheese and anyway, yuck. So no cheese, just red sauce. I added impossible sausage, a winner, then a few veggies. I wish they had eggplant but nope. Who wants pickled red onion on a pizza? Give me names or anyone who thinks this is a must, beyond MOD. The spouse had a salad and shared the pseudo glorious pie. Wow. My wife and I are visiting Oro Valley (we live in the Denver area). We are VRBO'ing just down the street, and we got in a little late the other evening, and decided to grab a pizza for dinner. I have to say the negatives first and foremost to be known. This location needs help. The toppings for the pizza/salads are not fresh as they could be. This is number one reason why I eat at Mod Pizza because the toppings are fresh and you pick them. I know what needs to be done and let me make suggestion. Number one check fridge temperature it is open to the room and never closed or covered and it is HOT in Arizona reason to be more cognizant of keeping quality fresh ingredients. In the containers use half to less the amount as you use it then change to fresh container and put fresh product out. Nobody wants the mushrooms to be black, the pineapple starting to ferment.. YES..ferment bubbles on side cloudy juice. Or tomatos the sliced ones and diced ones translucent and mushy as if the been cooked, same with diced peppers. It is alot of heat coming from oven plus they have too much product it goes bad. When cooking pizza please do not burn them if so I get it and understand mistakes happen at least check them so the customer doesn't have to go home to realize the pizza is burnt on bottom..charred BLACK! The positives, the staff is nice and friendly. Brandon fixed my 2 burnt pizzas by comping me 2 new ones when I called to tell him. The MOD locations I have been to before and usually patronize never ever have questionable ingredient freshness like this Oro Valley location. I had a Caesar salad. The lettuce wasn't the right type, worse it was wet. The dressing was barely tastable. The big positives, lot of anchovies and, at my request, artichoke hearts. The two youngsters with me had pizzas; it was one of the boys who had asked that we go to this chain pizza joint. I think they, like many people, love the sense that they can order what they want even though their actual add-ons were minimal. Also, I gather the chain is very dependable across stores. MOD is a good quick pizza option based on the concept of a fully customizable light meal. They have a great selection of toppings and sauces that are all available at one fixed priced. There are a few pizza sizes but we tend to go with the Mod regardless of age. The service is fast and the atmosphere is very modern. When we went to pay they had a little sign that said $2 local craft beers on Tuesday. This is a helluva bargain, and though I don't like having a beer at lunch and sleeping all afternoon I could not resist. Mmmm, Dragoon IPA. The pizzas were ready in just a couple of minutes. I was REALLY impressed with the crust: thin, crispy on the outside yet pliable and bendable so you can fold your piece over to stuff it in your piehole. First time having Mod pizza. I like it. We picked our own toppings instead of having one of their classics. We got pepperoni, salami, ground beef, mild sausage and topped it off with jalapeños and a bit of asiago cheese. I love the idea of choosing your toppings and having them make it right in front of you. The oven is running at over 600 degrees so it only takes a few minutes to cook. The crust is thin and had a great crunch to it. All the toppings were fresh and had good flavor. About the only thing I might ding them on is not enough sauce. Because they are running the oven so hot some of it gets cooked off. Not their fault, this is the way they make them, but in the future I'll have them put extra sauce on it. Will we be back? I like my pizza with thicker pizza crusts because I like it chewy. MOD Pizza only has thin crust, but it's chewy too; that's the perfect combination for me. I kept my toppings simple with just cheese, pepperoni, and mushrooms, easy on the red sauce. The service was fast and pleasant. read more

Really decent thin crust pizza and self designed salads. We get gluten free and it's one of the best gluten free crusts I've ever had. Just make sure you ask them to cook it a few minutes longer than the other pizzas...and get one of the "Finishing sauces" if you're brave. They are really tasty. Ingredients are fresh and you can have as many or as much as you want. It is really cheap for the quality. They have great shakes and lemonades. There's some beer and cider if that's your thing. My friend and I arrived here 15 minutes to close and I just knew in my mind we would get crap service or be rushed as they were already cleaning and no one was inside when we got there. Two young people were working and were super friendly; we had never been here before and the young man at the counter explained the process and was super nice. My friend and I sat down and the young lady who was cleaning the dining room assured us she wasn't rushing us and even refilled our drinks (this is a self serve type place). We had pizza and garlic sticks and they were both really good and very reasonably priced. High quality ingredients and amazing service.
