The topping options were nice, but -0.5 star for the mushrooms.. because it seems they just open the package and put it in the container, dirt and all . So I'd avoid that specific topping. Upon walking in, my family and I were ignored and then glanced at after a few minutes. One worker came in with food and completely ignored us as we waited to build our pizza. Both workers had airpods in and seemed annoyed everytime we requested a topping. The pizza, which used to come out within minutes, took 30 minutes, one of them taking over 30 minutes and having to ask the employee to give us the pizza, to which they ignored and turned around. The food is good, cant mess up a simple pizza. I'm not sure what happened, because this place used to be amazing and top tier. The workers were friendly and attentive, now theyre passive and rude. I really hate to write this about what used to be one of our weekly favorites, but last night's experience forced this overdue review. We've noticed this restaurant going downhill for quite some time now. Last night while standing next to a tall table waiting for our order, a roach crawled from underneath to the top of the table. It walked across the table and then flew to the next table, doing this multiple times before I was able to get someone's attention to take care of it. The sweet tea used to be my favorite, but it was so sour and must've been sitting out for some time. The lemonade jugs didn't look like they had been washed in quite some time and the food prep area was disheveled and gross looking. It's sad to say, but we will not be back and it probably won't be long before they close like so many other restaurants have... Wow!! This was our very first visit to Mod Pizza, & we were extremely impressed! The inside of this restaurant was/is designed so cute & cozy. We love the atmosphere totally; not to mention how delicious the pizza is! Let's hear it for the new kids on Mobile's pizza block! Yes, 5 stars-- hear me out, I'm going somewhere with this! Hubs and I stopped in after a game for a quick bite. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Greetings are hurled at the door, from every direction, as soon as you enter. The place is really well decorated and has a relaxed vibe. Hubs noticed almost immediately (of course) and while I'm sure it's not the most popular opinion, I like them without TVs. Carla, the manager, came over and engaged with us and even brought a "No Name Cakes" for us to try. I wish there was a higher cream filling to chocolate cake ratio, but I still loved it! (Bet it would also be good after a quick zap in the microwave, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.) The ingredients are fresh, the crust is good, the customization options are on par, and the sauces are great. Those things, while great, aren't the kicker here. For me, the food quality at MOD Pizza is nestled into the Blaze Pizza, Pie Five, Uncle Madios, (insert any others I missed here) cast, but the level of personable service and attentiveness has tipped the scales in their favor for me. If I could give zero stars for the atmosphere I would. My friend and I visited today at about 11:30 am and there was a good amount of people in line. To possibly the manager or maybe this good have been the owner. You need anger management and learn coping skills to deal with stress. The person was a guy with the darker colored beard that was taking the pizzas out of the oven. He totally lost it and just went off on the employee/worker that was in the blue shirt. We went to this place pretty late on New Year's Day so there weren't many people there, but even if it had been a busier day, it has plenty of seating to accommodate. You can choose your toppings or get one of their custom creations. The crust is super thin and you have the option to double up on the crust (for an additional charge, but can't remember how much). My daughter asked for hers extra crispy, and it came out a little charred in some places but definitely still edible. She ate around the "black" spots - there really weren't many, so it wasn't bad. My husband and I shared a "mod size" pizza, which is an 11 inch, I believe. He wanted just pepperoni and Canadian bacon, so I asked for jalapeños on just half. Honestly he could have eaten the whole pizza by himself with the crust being so thin, so next time we will just get two separate pizzas. The cheese bread was delicious! I'd go back if just for that alone. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip or long drive to go here, but it's definitely an option if in the area. I still have yet to get the refund through my bank from two weeks ago though, but this will hold me over. They apologized for the hassle again and I decided to pick up the pizza instead of doing delivery. I learned my lesson from last time. They were very nice in the lobby. first visit. the customer service is amazing. greeted when walked in. precautions taken for my gluten allergy-notifying the line, fresh gloves, grabbing toppings separate from the line. everyone i interacted with was friendly the person who built my pizza, the person who pulled it out the oven, the person who gave me a box. unfortunately i didn't really enjoy my pizza. the gluten friendly crust (they don't call it gluten free as they don't recommend it for those with allergies, my allergy isn't severe) leaves an aftertaste, the dairy free cheese wasn't great and neither was the pesto. i got spinach, onion, mushrooms, olives and pineapple. the sweet pineapple was the most enjoyable part. yes the ingredient that people wonder if it should be on a pizza. i really wanna like this place due to the service so i may try a different pizza build. read more
