My first Mod Pizza experience was about 10 years ago down in Irvine. A great concept, unlimited toppings on a thick or thin 11" pizza crust. They have a great selections of meats and veggies as well as finishing sauces and after cooking veggies like arugula! I luv thin crust pizza. My recommendation, don't pile on too much. If you do, ask them to oven bake it for a little longer than usual so that crust can hold up to the weight! Plus, i don't mind a few slightly charred areas. An 11" pizza is awesome for 2, but it's ok to have one all to yourself once in a while! In addition to their pizzas, they also make salads and have a few dessert items as well. Their coolers have beer and wine and good selection of sodas and drinks at the soda fountains. The Palms/Culver City location has plenty of parking and seating both inside and out. This place has excellent pizza. Just hands down delicious. The awesome thing is that you can make your own. The toppings, sauce, and cheese selection are extensive and whatever floats your boat is probably here. I got garlic cloves (among other things on mine) and that really leveled up my pizza experience. They serve wine and beer. Salads are their next biggest thing on the menu with the same sort of build your own thing going. Service was quiet and efficient. Appreciation also goes out to the restaurant for giving back 25% to the local middle school on that particular evening. Why not more stars? Ambiance. It's right on Venice Blvd which is noisy and agro all times of day. Seating inside is not comfy, you certainly don't feel like lounging around and chatting with friends, and the AC is super high so I was too cold and ended up choosing outside. read more

You guys! You have to try the chocolate goodness that is the "No Name Cake." It is a Ding Dong on steroids! It's huge, decadent, deliciousness with every mouth watering bite. 5 stars well earned , the ambiance was perfect upon walking in and the service was outstanding. It didn't feel like a forced service it truly felt genuine this team has the secret sauce of knowing how to treat people. The way I was greeted and assisted while my pizza was built was definitely memorable. When I got home the pizza was amazing perfect crisp and flavor , paired it well with one of the cream sodas that were in the beverage section. Mod pizza is always good! They didn't run out of any of the toppings when we came. I like how they have different toppings compared to other build your own pizza places. My bf and I split the pizza so we chose our own toppings for our side. We signed up for the app so we got the free cake reward. The guy at the register was having a hard time with processing the reward and he wanted to just give up on us which wasn't nice. read more

I got a thick crust and I liked that they let you choose how cooked you want it to be because I like mine a little softer instead of very crispy. When I arrived to pick up my order the staff was great, they gave me an order update and had some friendly conversation. It definitely is more of a grab and go place but somewhere I would visit again. SO much better than a frozen pizza and a frozen CPK pizza costs the same or more! They're very quick here, and you can get exactly what you want. Husband picks up, and I believe he orders the spicy marinara, spicy sausage (it's not greasy), red onion. It's delicious. We also get a salad. We go every third week or so. There's a parking lot right there and for us at least it's not far, and the pizza is still hot when he gets home. Also much better than, say, Dominos, which we quit years ago as it just did not seem like actual food. The Mod is like what you'd make at home. Thumbs up. read more

I placed an order online for pickup - it was easy peasy! Finished orders are placed on a long table against the window in alphabetical order. This is a hard because the Pizza is great though the service fell very very short of great! Snarky employees with little to no customer service. I walked in, stood in line for 10 to 15 min before anyone even acknowledged I was waiting for food. Not a bad place to eat if you're willing to put up with the lack luster service and horrible ambiance provided. Man this place really fell off.... First off, their pizza tastes like cardboard. WTF is with the thin burnt crackers. It literally had the texture of cardboard and tasted like crackers rather than actual dough. And why would they not put labels on the ingredients.... Have to ask every time what ingredients is which.
