Not so great service. I normally go to the Champions/1960 location, but I was in the area, so I decided to try this Louetta location. I ordered 2 kids/mini pizzas and a MOD salad. My biggest issue was that the MOD sided salad was filled like the MINI sized salad and when I asked why it was so skimpy the associate said that's how they are made. I visited this MOD Pizza location in the Heights with my brother recently, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we got in line to order, the place was pretty empty, so we expected a quick and easy interaction. My brother asked for one pizza, but the worker kept mishearing or misunderstanding -- repeating back things like "one pizza and a salad?" then "one salad and no pizza?" and even after we clarified multiple times, he finished with "one pizza and a salad? Got it." At that point, I had to firmly say, "No salad." He looked at me and repeated "One salad?" before saying he was just joking. It didn't come off as funny -- it came off as rude or sarcastic, especially when we were clearly trying to just place a simple order. Later, when we were about to leave, my brother went to get a drink refill, and the same worker looked at me and asked, "Y'all both ate the pizza?" Again, I wasn't sure if it was a joke, but it felt unnecessary and a little passive-aggressive. The food itself was fine, but the service really affected the overall experience. We weren't being difficult customers -- just trying to place a straightforward order. I really enjoy this place; great pizza, consistently tasty, and usually worth the trip. But this is now the second time I've had to wait over 90 minutes for my order at this location. The employees are clearly doing their best, but they're severely understaffed, and it shows. The frustrating part is that nothing seems to have changed in the past two months. Sundays, in particular, are a mess when it comes to wait times. The staff can't be blamed for this, this is a management issue, plain and simple. The manager needs to step up instead of cutting corners and hoping the staff can carry the load alone. I want to give this chain the glowing review it usually deserves--but not this time. My order was unfortunately lost so I'm writing this review on behalf of a buddy who graciously shared his pie with me. Pros- you choose all the ingredients and meats or veggies to your heart's content. Sauces and drizzles can be customized as well. Many exotic things to choose from including vegan sausage to anchovies if that's your thing. Cons - don't come on a busy day. If you give your name, give your full name and ask for the pizza number order in case it gets jumbled up. Overall experience of pizza: Crust - overly thin. Could use more dough or even include options like hand tossed or pan. Pizza will end up soggy if you aren't careful with toppings. Cheese - lots of options ranging from mozzarella to Asiago . Can ask maker to add more. Meats and veggies - excellent variety and you decide the portions Drizzles - lots of variety including honey, sriracha, pesto, etc I felt like there was a lot more potential and the workers put in a lot of effort to accommodate the customers, hence the 4 stars. Let's starts off with saying that pizza is always good and it's one of America's go to foods , but, sadly this time, mod wasn't the one to hit that good spot, I've gotten many pizzas from here and it's always hit or miss, sometimes they forget an item or sometimes they put way too much, but the drinks and dingdongs are just probably little debbies, and i think they should lower the price of them for something so small and something that's already common in the stores. Celebrated with a day-date with the hubs! Been two weeks since we tied the knot :) and we were greeted with beautiful sunshine and cauliflower dough pizza with the yummiest toppings. I've only tried MOD once before in my life, and it was this same location, but when they first opened...and I recall a not so great food experience. But, more recently my hubs tried their cauliflower pizza and said it was tasty, so I decided to give them a second chance! To my delight, the cauliflower pizza was really light, crunchy and tasty. Perfectly baked in their oven with the outer layer slightly burnt and crispy, and evenly distributed toppings...I appreciated that they had chorizo as a topping. It made the overall meal a bit on the heavier side, but nonetheless delicious. Today was perfect patio weather day, so we took full advantage. I was semi disappointed with customer service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I saw staff behind the pizza counter making line just standing around. They look relaxed and disorganized. Not at their proper stations, dirty patio tables outside, but restrooms were squeaky clean. It was after the lunch rush, so I don't know why tables weren't cleaned. Also, I ordered a bottled coke that required the cap to be taken off, but I had to get up and go back to the register area to ask for them to pop the cap off...then I also had to get up and ask a staff member to go clean the table for us. IMO, these little things shouldn't have to be asked by the patron. It should just be taken care of...hence the three stars. I will def come back to enjoy the cauliflower pizza again. Had an early dinner at Mod. The place was DIRTY!!! There were literally 5 employees standing around doing NOTHING while I had to wipe my own dirty table down. I love PIZZA! I live for it but there's something about MOD Pizza that make it better. You can build your own for $8 and put whatever you like. They have so many options that it can get a little overwhelming but if you stick to what you know, it'll be amazing! I been coming to the louetta location since it open and been satisfied every time. The people that work there seem to love their jobs and are fun and interactive. They recently got an app too! Update: I tried a salad this evening and it exceeded my expectation. Worst location in NW Houston. I get to go orders from three other locations with no issues. This is the ONLY location who insists on putting tomato sauce on my PESTO pizza Every. Single. Time. There are no limit to the amount of toppings you can add to your pizza...but keep that in mind as you note that the crust is a standard thin crust option...STILL TASTY.
