Meantime, I will not be going back to Culver's. Postscript: Instead of handling the problem, Culvers posted a form letter stating I should call its headquarters to discuss this. That is plain English for "we don't take comments seriously.

Nothing else looked appetizing in the stretch of Illinois 132 just west of G.A., so we figured the last time at Mission was SO awful, it had to be a fluke, and this store should CERTAINLY be better. It wasn't. We both had "2 meat" plates- I with Ribs, Sausage and Wife had Ribs and pulled pork. We both had slaw and fries. The pulled pork was the least offensive of the proteins. This time, it was the opposite of last time--not so fatty, and not so flavorful either. Dry and insipid. The Sausage was mushy and strangely lacking in real flavor. And the goddamned Ribs were the same ineptly butchered mess we ran into in Naperville. Shards of Bones at the top of the cut. Slightly over-smoked/over-cooked as well. WTF? That much of the same criticism of Naperville was in play here made us think this is the way things are served at Mission BBQ and not an anomaly. A mention to the manager wouldn't help things. Now in the "Every theory has a corollary" dept: As in Naperville the slaw, fries and cornbread were pretty good; as was the Iced Tea and fountain drink "throw". The sauces were all pretty good too. Wished there was some decent "Q" to put them on. Maybe it's just our taste, or we are spoiled by "Q" in our visits to the South, but there's no excuse for the lazy butchering of the ribs, or the mushiness of the sausage. I know "corporate" chains tamp down spices in the "come bet" common palates will desire a less bold cuisine, but DAMN! this is BARBEQUE. American Q is NOT a "safe" proposition. This isn't the cuisine to play it safe. Then again, it's not meant as an insult, but Suburban denizens (unless you're a suburb of, say...Austin Texas) prolly aren't in for foods meant to challenge. I see enough 5star Yelps indicating a lot of folks like this place; so I'll assume Wife and I are the outliers. We haven't found a whole lot of Suburban Northern Q supremely edible. The whole mishegoss is a dilemma, as Mission BBQ is deep into honoring our service Men & Women. We are, too. That a portion of the (considerable) cash we left there goes to Service folks soothes at least part of the sting of a lousy feed...

As a former Chicagoan I was quite pleased. And a shout out for Lina, could be Lena. I was watching her take orders, delivered others outside, fixed the tables and chairs. She was doing it all. A terrific person to have on staff.

I come here at least once a week for lunch. Get a build your own to-go. I like the assembly line aspect of picking your own toppings... You can pick anything you want on the pizza... same price. I get mine loaded and then ask for it to be cooked well done crispy. The will even put a dressing or sauce on top right before cutting if you ask. Since I come in consistently on a weekly basis, the staff has gotten to remember me, and my topping combo. Staff is always cheery and you will get a greeting as soon as you enter. Service is always prompt although it can get crowded at times. I have never waited more than a few minutes for the pizza's to go through the "assembly line". I do not think I ever got a bad pizza ... the quality is very consistent. I got to other MOD pizza shops occasionally, but mostly go to this location. I have had similar experiences at the other locations. They seem to be a pretty good franchise. Apparently growing very fast. read more

I love MOD! The people that work there are so nice, welcoming, and full of energy. From the second you walk in, you get a warm greeting. It can be intimidating going into a new restaurant that has a unique style and way of doings things but the employees are very helpful in explaining the MOD way. They have so many topping, basically anything that one would ever want to put on a pizza...for no upcharge as well which is nice! I got a MOD size pizza with chicken, red onion, roasted tomatoes, and gorgonzola. I was tempted to put on a lot more but I'll have many chances in the future to try more and I wanted to get a good balance of toppings for my first time. It only took about five minutes and was cooked to perfection. I can't believe the speed for a full size pizza that didn't sacrifice quality at all! I had a great experience at MODs pizza! They offer lots of customization options, which is awesome if you're in the mood to create your perfect pizza. For those who prefer not to customize, they also have a solid menu of pre-designed options. The service was fast. A nice bonus was their kid special -- when you order one adult meal, kids get a free one-topping pizza! Perfect for families. I dined in, and there were no wait times. Plus, they had high chairs available, which made it a smooth experience for my little one. The pizza itself was delicious! I had the pesto with chicken, and while everything tasted amazing, I did wish the chicken was a bit more spread out. It would've been nice to get a bite of chicken in every piece. But overall, the flavors were spot on, and the experience was great. I'll definitely be back! read more

As a 'za lover, I can honestly say I've put this staff through the ringer. Yeah, they had their issues when they first opened. BUT their customer service and desire to get it right makes up for the issues. If you think it's too boring or bland - switch it up! Or ask the staff for recommendations! I can say one day I waited 40 min for my pie, but that was when they first opened. I've been back too many times to count and they have finally hit their stride. My only complaint now is that those brussel sprouts are a seasonal item and are gone. read more

I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is super friendly! I am definitely a topping kind of person so the whole concept i think is wonderful. A lot of other people think so too because there is almost always a line but the staff is sure to get through everyone as quick as possible. So wrong!! A REAL Chicago pizza is basically a full-blown cheese & toppings filled pie with a thick bottom crust, generous amount of cheese and the sauce piled on top like the grand finale. We stopped at Giordano's in Gurnee and ordered a 14-inch build-your-own w beef, mushrooms, and onions. "Large" apparently means "feeds a small village" because this thing was massive, easily enough for a family of 5!!! Every slice came with that dramatic, slow-motion cheese pulls that make everyone at the table stop talking and start taking pictures!!! The ingredients tasted fresh, the cheese was gloriously gooey, and each slice was hearty enough to qualify as a meal and a half. We also grabbed the mozzarella triangles and buffalo wings bc apparently self-control wasn't invited to dinner. The mozzarella triangles were crispy, cheesy little pockets of happiness, and the wings brought just the right amount of buffalo kick. Both were absolutely delicious and disappeared way faster than they should have. The service was fantastic too!! Drinks never stayed empty for long, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. We walked out stuffed, happy, and officially educated on what REAL Chi-town pizza is supposed to be!! If you're visiting Chicago, Giordano's is absolutely a must!!!

No alcohol here so if you're looking for that you'll have to go elsewhere. Location is rarely small and can get busy quick . Our food was delicious. I can officially say I've had authentic deep dish from Chicago and loved it.
