We ordered MODS pizza online last night 10/10/2016 from the location in Gurnee, IL. It was HORRIBLE.... the pizza was dry, the crust was burnt and the cinnamon strips were burnt and neither the pizza or the cinnamon strips were sliced/stripped. My children hated it and so did I..I am not sure what all the hype is about because the food was not all that. When do children not love pizza. What a great idea! Just love this place. Pizza Made On Demand means you get as much of as many ingredients as your heart desires on a 6" or 11" dough. Warning though too much makes for a soggy pizza. I request it cooked well done to blacken the edges in the fast cooking woodfire oven. Great options for a mouthwatering do it yourself pizza for a have it your way pizza experience. Love it.....as stated in other reviews in a way it is the Subway concept for pizza in that you can choose from all sorts of ingredients and watch them construct it in front of you. Then the pizza is wood fired. I had the Tristan with an extra of chicken sausage. It came out in about 8 minutes, crispy and good. Fresh and tasty toppings, and perfectly cooked crust. Thin crust.... Good for folks of all ages. It was pretty busy but they were very efficient and the place is clean. read more

This is my go-to place to eat! My boyfriend and I come here once or twice a week to grab a quick bite or have a nice casual date. This is a kid friendly place as well. The staff is a great group of people that will do anything to make the customers happy. The manager on call is a great person as well and knows me and my order every time I go there which makes me feel more welcomed. There's a wide selection of toppings, dressings, etc. it's nice to know there's a place that has gluten free crust and dairy free cheese for people with certain allergies. It's nice to have somewhere where everyone can have something they want rather than having one big pizza that not everyone agrees on for basically the same price. If you're a big fan of pizza like me then this is the place to go! read more

I feel this place would be good if staff wore gloves, it's disgusting. It takes around 6-15 minutes to even receive the food which is absolutely ridiculous if there isn't anyone waiting in line, also their food is meh. I'd expect more from a restaurant. read more

I started off by placing an order online, when I got the e-mail confirmation for my lunch I noticed that they charged me for two pizzas. I call the store and they told me they were sorry they were having issues with their online orders and to come in and both pizzas would be free. I get there and the place is busy and she ask for my name and I tell her and she said oh yes you had the online order that was messed up. Then 15 mins go by and I still don't have my lunch. I ask if it will be ready soon and they tell me that they forgot my order. I am on my lunch break for work so I don't have all day stand their waiting for them to finally make my pizza. They then give me a card that's for a free Mod Pizza and to try them again. On top of all this they still charged my debit card for two pizzas!!! I am very disappointed in this location. I had to go over to Wendy's and grab lunch instead. read more

The food here is fine, but the place seems to be run by teenagers. The line was to the door and the kids making the pizzas had absolutely no sense of urgency. I understand that you don't want to rush for quality purposes but they were moving like snails. They even asked customers to step aside so they could look at the big menu on the wall because they didn't know what came on the pizzas, this happened twice. One of the girls also told a customer that the Gorgonzola cheese was bleu cheese so they clearly don't know what ingredients they even have. As we got to the register we stood there for a minute or two before someone came over to ring us up, and then without giving us a receipt the girl just walked away, no thank you or anything. There was not a single adult back there so I'm not sure who was in charge but I'd recommend maybe training the staff better and teaching them some better social skills and work ethic. read more

An interesting pizza place. Kind of like the Subway of pizza. You can order one of their pre-designed signature pies, or make your own with a large variety of sauces and toppings. Takes about 7 minutes to get from oven to table. Still not as good as your traditional pizzeria, but not as filling or expensive either. Definitely a 10 on my list! Every time I come to the area I am sure to stop and get a pizza! I am in love with the food here, the staff are excellent! They are fun and bubbly. And if you don't have a laugh while you're there something is wrong! I love the on tap beer they offer and the personal size build your own pizza along with the garlic breadsticks are a favorite on my list! The wait is never long. They are pretty fast on their feet to make sure that you get your order in a timely manner! I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a more lighter style pizza for nearly half the price! read more

I think this is a wonderful place to come and have a quick pizza or salad. I find the employees very friendly and the food is very tasty. I love the concept of building your own pizza for one low price (or build your own salad for one low price). Please be advised that this restaurant can get busy around lunch time -- line outside the door (be prepared to wait), but I find the staff very professional no matter how many customers are in line. Tried Mod Pizza on the recommendation of my brother-in-law. Must say from the moment we walked in everything was done perfectly! We were greeted by Bailey who was behind the counter. She greeted us and asked us if we had dined at Mod Pizza, we explained it was our first time. She was great explaining the process to us and she was very pleasant the whole time and had a great smile to go with her personality. My husband and I built our own pizzas and tried the garlic strips. Throughly enjoyed our which came out very quickly and the garlic strips were also excellent! MOD pizza is great, but not this location. Ever since it opened up, I've been trying to eat here a few times but the line has been out the door. I finally decide to stay today and what do I find. Super slow service! We waited for over a half hour to order and there was only like 10 people in line. People who came after us even left. It's not for lack of trying though because the food line workers were working hard. It's because they were inexperienced, inefficient, and poorly managed. The manager was there and she clearly was in over her head. To the owners, you better send someone to see for yourselves and fix the problems. If Chipotle can do it, so can you. To my fellow customers, call in your order for pickup or go to the other location near Hawthorne Mall - they're much faster. read more

This place is okay for what it is. Good place to go if everybody wants something different. One price regardless of how many toppings makes things easy. When I was there it was not very busy so the pizzas were ready in minutes. Now if you are looking for great pizza and a nice atmosphere, go somewhere else. The edge of the pizzas are burnt. The middle is soggy and undercooked. It was not just our pizzas. Everybody's looked that way. This included anything from a plain cheese pizza to a fully loaded one. This place is LOUD!!! The restaurant not only looks like a warehouse it sounds like one, too. Finally, the homemade lemonade is so sweet it could be used in place of syrup. The black tea iced tea is so weak it looked like tap water tinged with rust. The fountain drinks are flat. Stick with bottled drinks if you go. Order one size up if you are hungry because the edge and the middle of the pizza is inedible. The part in between is actually okay which is why it got the three star rating. read more

The staff is very friendly though and trying to handle the whole thing.Here's my story... I ordered 2 pizzas online. The process was very easy, even for an old geezer like me. I was 5 minutes late getting to the shop, and as I walked past the line up to the register, a young staff member started to tell me about something that went wrong with my order when I was totally distracted by another staffer grabbing 3 full pizza boxes that were in full-on smoke and flames and dashing into the back room. The staffer talking to me looked back at me woefully and said, "those were yours." All I could do was chuckle -- this was out of a Seinfeld movie and I was George. She said they would redo my pizzas right away, for free of course, and gave me a free beer while I waited, to boot. What the H___. The entertainment alone was worth 4 stars! read more

Beyond terrible experience and I WISH I could say this was the first time. I vowed I would not return due to previous online orders which were not filled and 30 minute wait times. I Finally tried again, and after 30 mins of waiting asked the girl at the counter to check my order- she said she didn't have anything unless it was under "Jason" then she looked a gain and said oh here it is- sorry it's cold, do you want us to remake it?" No - I took my ice cold pizza home and threw it out- no chance in hell was I going to have her remake it and waste another 30 minutes of my life. The staff were goofing around, not paying any attention, and one staff member decided her shift was over and walked by me during my 30 min wait without asking if I was still waiting on that order, to go hang out with her friends at a table. I love the idea of quick and cheap pizza. Beyond that, I like the idea of unlimited toppings. It's a shame the pizza tastes like garbage. Now, to be fair, I only went with a cheese. But if a cheese pizza sucks, the rest is just a mask. Cheese? Okay I guess. Sauce? Blandest pizza sauce I've tasted. Crust? Are you sure this isn't a tortilla? Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. Out Christmas Eve for last minute shopping and everything near the mall started to close for the evening. 2nd time at mod pizza in gurnee and the staff we're friendlier and the line moved quicker than the last time I was there. All, but one employee was in a good mood, but working on the night of Christmas Eve, I might be a bit bummed myself. I've been to the mod pizza in north brook and the line moves so much quicker. Mod in gurnee may just need more time, but I like the concept of build your own pizza and the options they have. read more
