While they weren't talking about us, they were talking about another family with a kiddo and I can only imagine how I'd feel if I could hear them talking about us. Several times it came that way (extremely salty) and so we moved on to the many other pizza joints that had popped up with the great Round Lake population boom of the late 1990s. Fast forward to last week, after a 15 year hiatus we thought of giving it another shot and ordered from The Pizza Place. We were pleasantly surprised to find the pizza was exactly as we remembered it so long ago. Supper that night was like we were back in 1995. Just superb! The price was very reasonable for what we got. Our family all raved about it. The delivery was quick with our order being plenty hot, and to top it off we recognized a familiar face delivering it, the owner her self, Jean McCue! It doesn't get any better than that. We are definitely are going to now make this our go to pizza joint. It is great to see a very local business still around, surviving through the devastation of a tornado hit years ago and the COVID years.

I ordered delivery and everything was good until I opened up the bags ready to eat. I had ordered a cheese ravioli and meat ravioli were given. I also ordered an antipasto salad and there was no dressing delivered. That was okay, I called back the restaurant and told them what had happened, the gentleman on the phone quickly gave the phone to the manager and so I then again repeated the scenario. The manager told me I ordered meat and he knew this because he took my order and that is what I said. Well, I as the customer placed the initial order and I did not order meat and for a manager to respond like that is very unprofessional and not customer friendly at all. He then told me to give the ravioli back to the driver and he would bring the cheese ravioli and the dressing. Not even an apology or I'm sorry about the miscommunication. The food was good don't get me wrong but I would never order from this location again because the lack of customer service and really badly trained manager. read more
