First time at MD's in a long time. Here are some of my thoughts:…read more -I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I looked at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised. -I ordered the pick two. I chose the "spuds" (twice baked potatoes), and southwest chicken & avocado salad. -The salad was not great--avocado was a bit mushy, the chile lime vinaigrette wasn't the best either. -The spuds were not what I normally think of as twice baked potatoes. The inside was more like mashed potatoes with gravy. I would not order this again. -It's a shame because the service was really good and friendly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend.

The turnaround from order to table was pretty quick...and we found out why. The one positive thing about their Rueben is that it was LOADED with corned beef...albeit room temperature and even pockets that were cold. The bread was only toasted; the sandwich is typically grilled. There was hardly any sauerkraut and the 1000 Island dressing was weird (tasted like there was some horseradish in it?), This is near Gurnee Mills so there is a dearth of other, better fast food options. Would maybe go again and try a different menu item...but with so many other options, it would be a last option (aka- everyplace else is closed so not likely). Very disappointing.

My girlfriend wanted Chicago deep dish though... Antioch was the place on our list to try next whose menu claimed to be able to meet our desires. They sure did! Sauce wasn't too tangy or sweet, the sausage was not pre-cooked frozen crap, and both doughs were great! Another big thing to me, is how good pizza is cold the next day, and BOTH excelled in that category! It's a small place with limited indoor seating (6 - 8 booths) and uncovered outdoor seating that's shared with the rest of the businesses in that little nook of a strip mall. The employees were helpful, and in a great mood which is sobering I always feel is transferred into the final product of any restaurant! We didn't know, going in, that they had been honored at The Best Pizza Awards during a prestigious 2025 pizza industry conference in Milan, Italy! We both understand why now. I DEFINITELY recommend trying this place. With as many places I still have yet to try, I will make time to go back here!

Not that Ron and Pat was horrible or anything but Antioch pizza shop was super awesome. It even felt so old-school being able to order directly with the restaurant instead of going on Uber Eats or something like that. Anyway, got a 18 inch pizza that comes with a free 12 inch pie... Got so many toppings. It's kinda hard to name them all or remember since he was a pretty hazy night but everything was correct, crispy, and extra delicious. Antioch pizza definitely my favorite pizza joint in the area and I'm not exactly sure which location I went to, but I think it's the original location so thank you. I think I'm gonna order it again today.

When they put the sign up I was so intrigued as to what B&B would be. Much to my delight it was Greek American style! I grew up eating along this specific fault line of American favorites and Greek classics, so I was psyched to see something like that around here. As soon as I saw they were open I had to stop in. They nailed it here. The clean diner concept was friendly and comfortable. The family run business was putting out, for my money, the best gyros anywhere around! Spinach Pie, another classic and another must have. I got one almost every visit. They did a great job with American stuff, and even a few Mexican style dishes too! I'd get the taco meal a lot actually, it was a great hearty meal. The Greek chicken plates and the lemon chicken soup were some of the best here, these guys knew their way around a chicken! There's plenty more I could say, it's been about 3 years after all... this is a big loss on the community. Nothing hits quite like this spot, it had become a go-to for me. Can't decided what to eat today? Go to B&B. Multiple people in the group want different types of food? Go to B&B. Craving something light? Go to B&B. Need a hearty dinner? Go to B&B. Well, now I can't go to B&B anymore. The area is less inviting without them, it's left a massive hole here that likely won't be filled. Trying to buck up... I'm wishing the family all the best moving forward! They are still running their Facebook page for the business, with a post saying they will have more information soon. Whatever they plan, I hope to be eating their food somewhere not to far from here in the near future. Goodbye for now, hopefully not sayonara. And thanks for the good times!
