We had a pleasure of being served by young lady EVA. Hands down one of the best servers we have had. When we (my husband and I) arrived we placed an order EVA gave us our number and gestured that we can sit anywhere we chose. While we were waiting for our food I was quietly observing her, she wiped down all dining table, positioned them correctly, scooted all the chair in, picked up and discarded an empty cup sitting on counter, checked with the kitchen while keeping an eye on everyone coming in. Tried Buona tonight. My first time so I was unfamiliar with the lingo for beef juicing. The cashier Lina was very nice to explain the differences. She gave us a number and it didn't take long before it all arrived at our table. The beef was tender and slightly spicy. Not too hot, though. I had green peppers and they came in seasoned chunks which made it all very easy to handle and quite delicious. Onion rings and crinkle French fries were crunchy. As a former Chicagoan I was quite pleased. And a shout out for Lina, could be Lena. I was watching her take orders, delivered others outside, fixed the tables and chairs. She was doing it all. A Great New Addition to Gurnee--Beef, Shakes, and Rainbow Ice Cream! I dropped by the brand-new Buona Beef in Gurnee to grab dinner to go! It's located on the west side of town, safely away from the craziest of the mall traffic. Just a quick heads-up on navigation: if you're heading east, finding the entrance can be a little tricky. You have to turn left at N. Hutchins Road and spot the side road tucked behind the tall swamp grass! Inside, the restaurant is beautifully clean. It took about 10 minutes to prep my order, which included two Italian beef sandwiches, a side of potato salad, a Caesar salad (both prepackaged), and an order of their arancini beef bites. You get three to an order, and while they taste good, they completely fall apart the second you take a bite, so be careful! I actually watched a video on their history and learned they use a commissary kitchen to ensure the flavor stays consistent across all locations, which makes sense. It's a solid, reliable local chain and a really nice alternative to the usual burger or chicken franchises. As a massive bonus, there is a Rainbow Cone ice cream parlor right inside the building! Our office actually had their truck visit us before, so we already knew how good it is. I couldn't resist bringing home a gallon of the rainbow ice cream, a slice of cake, and the four sugar cones they pack up for you to scoop at home. I even signed up for their rewards program. With a huge menu that covers everything from beef and burgers to fresh salads, it's a great, handy new spot to have in the area! BTW, service was a little slow. Extremely disappointing experience at Buona Beef. The food was poor and tasted like shit, and the attitude from the staff made the experience even worse. The management was unprofessional and did not seem interested in addressing the problems. For the price, I expected much better food and customer service. This location needs to be shut down immediately or needs to have a new general manager. Everytime I call about my food being incorrect marco asked me 10 questions and always demands new food.. I don't want new food I want my first order to be correct without having to come back in for a simple fucking order, this place is going down slowly read more

Went here the other day around 9pm. Basically empty restraunt. I waited 18 minutes for my order which I placed myself on the I door kiosk. I ordered, onion rings, cheese fries, meatball sandwich and Italian beef. First the good. Its nice this places stays open till at least 11 as most places in oak creek barely make it to 8 unless you're taco bell. The rings were nice sized, crispy and hot. The fries were to crispy for my liking and had no pillowy inside. The cheese sauce serves on the side was the highlight of all the food I tasted here. It was outstanding, much like shake shacks cheese. The meatballs were way to salty and the red sauce was bitter and dense. It was more of a red paste the sauce. It was actually terrible and I threw most out. The "star of the show", Italian beef was just fair. The beef to roll ration is aweful. They slice the roll half way down and lay the beef across the top. Its about a 3 inch deep roll, so the bottom inch and half is not cut and no beef got in there. So every other bite is just bread. Now the bread is pretty good but for the price, the sandwich needs to be better constructed. I would say Portillos food is better in every aspect. I'm glad there's a Buona near me now. I went during their soft opening and grand opening, yes I love this place that much. I like the fact you can order on the kiosk and grab a number and they will bring you your food. The staff I encountered were all very friendly and came around to make sure we were doing okay. I ordered an Italian Beef, fries, and the beef bites. I absolutely enjoy the beef bites every time I get them. The Italian Beef hits every time. You can customize your sandwich with cheese, how you want it dipped, peppers, there's so many ways to get it. I also had a milkshake. The place is new so it is clean and organized. I will be back for sure to try some other things. read more

We were so excited to see Buona and rainbow cone open up near us. Whenever we're in a crunch for dinner having them right there is so convenient. Inside it's as vibrant as any of the locations with super helpful and kind staff. Only note is if you're in a rush to get your food the drive thru does take a bit longer to get your food. I love their avocado southwest sandwich, it has a great kick and full of flavor. But you also can't go wrong with their Italian beef or chopped salad. All in all, great location, delicious food and great service. read more

Horrible restaurant. Horrible workers. Horrible management. I went in the other day and got the simplest order ever. A large number one meal with hot peppers. I did not get a large, no hot peppers i got no fries in the bag and also payed for a cheese cup and didn't receive it. When i went to tell one of the workers about it they asked me to see my bag as if i would lie about it? anyways i showed them and they grabbed me a manager not sure her name but it was older lady. she was absolutely awful she acted so confused and lost even after i showed her proof of my entire order being wrong. She said there was nothing she could do and told me to call the store in the morning for the GM. That is ridiculous and i payed way too much money to get this type of service. This location needs to be shut down immediately, it's very disgusting and disappointed and i will not be returning again. If i could give 0 stars i would , giving them a 1 star is a push. read more

Service was super quick! The food (classical Italian beef was juicy) fries were hot and fresh. The beef bites are to die for. The space d bright with natural light of the sun and the large hanging orange lights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'll be back. Good food read more

I thought the food was delicious and it arrived quickly. The service at the front counter was amazing. His name was Uzil, and he was such a nice guy. However, my only complaint was with the girl, Mayeli. My mom asked for a bowl because she was going to share a salad with my sister. She asked Mayeli to bring a plate, but my mom said, "Oh no, I meant a bowl." Mayeli didn't say anything, went to get it, and then came back with the nastiest face I've ever seen. Their food is cooked with love. The food is moist and good and cooked with perfection and the staff. There are very nice and welcoming.

Buona Beef brings a solid beef into town. Portillo's has been consistently bad lately and they have lost our family's business.

Everything was excellent, cashier was friendly. My Italian beef combo was perfect. I will come again when in the area.
