Ordered take out Extra Meat Gyro Plate. Picked it up and only the Gyro was in the bag. Explained I ordered the Extra Gyro plate. He made the fries that come with the meal and threw them in a separate bag with coleslaw. Took it home and there no extra gyro meat on the gyro and it was ordered for 2. I previously walked into this location requesting a Gyro plate and he explained they do not have such an item on the menu. This guy just refused to provide gyro plates when they are clearly on the menu. Besides all that, the food was tasteless and Cleary old. The tzatziki sauce was tasteless. Almost $19.00 in the garbage. I should have went to Sammies in Grayslake. They are always spot on. Will never go again read more

Great place to grab a quick, tasty meal! We have eaten everything at Leo's from the hot dogs to the tacos to the chicken tenders. Everything is always fresh and amazing. Love the gyro, love the Chicago hot dogs and my kids are obsessed with cheese fries. In nice weather we can walk here and get milkshakes! This is our neighborhood gem! read more

Friendly staff, great prices, delicious food. Very much a typical mom and pop shop with a variety of options on the menu. Since it was Wednesday, I decided to go for the tacos special. They were fresh and delicious! They came with a verde salsa that had the right amount of heat. Even without the sauce, the steak was still delicious. My husband decided on the Italian beef sandwich, which was why us out of towners stopped here in the first place. The meat itself was a little bland. However, mixed together with the cheese and giardiniera, it was perfection. The bun served its purpose to make the fillings a sandwich. The fries were standard fries but fresh and salty. My daughter wanted a hot dog, so we did the combo. No judgement was made when my toddler wanted hers with just ketchup. No pics because we devoured the hot dogs. Everything was clearly made to order, which is a huge plus in my book. We may just be back tomorrow for the gyro; it was that good! read more

I've been looking forward to this location opening as it's very close to my house and exactly my type of menu. I decided to try a bit of two different items- the Hamburger and Gyro. The hamburger was excellent, although I ordered mine with no cheese but got cheese anyway. This isn't a big deal for me, I just prefer without but I also realized I'm in the minority and lots of places mess that up. The taste was classic Chicago red hots in that it had a smoky flavor which made it tough to put down even though I had a gyro to try. The Gyro was also excellent, and the portion for the regular size was massive in my opinion. I'm not sure if they were overly generous being opening weekend but I don't think I could ever eat the larger size. The staff were friendly, and the order took about 5 minutes to complete. Worse wings ever. They are all breading and if you can find any meat under all of it you are lucky . We ordered wings and ended up tossing out the entire order! Highly recommend not ordering these unless you love thick breading with no meat! read more

First time we stumbled upon this gem but we'll be back! Leo, the owner was friendly and happy to make recommendations. We both went with the gyros which was delicious and certainly plentiful! Only downside was could have used a larger pita bread to accommodate all the deliciousness. Seating is minimal but comfortable. They do a huge carryout business. Prices seemed very reasonably and we can't wait to go back and try more! We definitely will become regulars here I think. read more

I work very close to Leo's but had never tried. Recently had a small group order and by looking at their food photos I was determined to get a polish but ended up ordering the pastor tacos with cilantro, onions and red and green salsa. And now I can't stop ordering the tacos. I've ordered 5 times they are so good. Pretty solid Chicago style quick lunch place that also has some Mexican food, as well. I generally get the fajita, and it's about as good as can be. The peppers and onions are obviously fresh, and the chicken and bread are well seasoned. Staff seems to be taking COVID seriously. All are wearing gloves and masks, and indoor seating is closed. They have convenient online ordering. Not sure what people are expecting here, but it is on par if not better than other similar places in the area. read more

Save your money. Service was good. All food was precooked and 'warmed' to order. Gyro was served cold and subpar, they have gyro spicket but all the meat is pre-cut and refrigerated, they dumped it from a plastic container tub onto the flattop and 'warmed' it. Sauce was bland as was meat. Fries were frozen and dumped in a fryer, which I assume they couldn't get hot enough b/c the lady kept moving the fries from one side to the other and then served them cold! So disappointed, worst $26 we have ever spent.... drive to Vernon Hills and go to Nikos! ...Oh yea, and the $4 LARGE fried mushrooms we ordered came with only 7 (seven) mushrooms (small/average size) and, shocker, served COLD (previously frozen)! read more

I am very disappointed with this place. I order food for my family on a Friday night and it was disgusting. We got gyros, tacos, and a shrimp dinner. The gyro meat tasted like rubber. It wasn't cooked all the way through. We also ordered steak tacos but got pork instead. The fries were not cooked properly. The shrimp tasted really fishy. Family owned sandwich shop with tables to sit at. Very diverse menu & shakes & malts! On Sundays, they sell $1 Chicago Style hot dogs! First time visit. We ordered Italian Beef, Italian Sausage with sweet peppers, fries, onion rings& chocolate malt. All very good. Quality Vienna Beef joint that serves up solid Chicago style food at a very reasonable price. Everything I've had here has been good- burgers, Italian beef, gyro, Chicago style dogs. Newer location and a sister to the one in Round Lake. Definitely worth checking out. The Gyro was good, however the extra Pita I ordered and paid for was missing. The Italian beef was good, however the requested onions on the sandwich were missing. Went in for lunch with my son and ordered Jumbo grilled dog and regular hot dog.... both with fries and a drink. The hot dogs were ok.... almost a bit undercooked for the grilled jumbo. The fries were tasty but they are frozen fries and not fresh cut. Atmosphere was pretty awful as they had a childrens movie blaring from the tv. Service is the real weak point. The cook seemed on top of it but the two ladies behind the counter were more interested in their lap top and their iphone then they were to helping customers. They forgot to give us our drink cups and a side we ordered and could barely look up from their gadgets. When we left they didn't even look up. I've decided to write this review after ordering 2 times from this restaurant through Grub Hub. My first experience was good. I ordered the grill chicken pita. Chicken was a bit dry but flavor was good and I just added a little more sauce. However, after receiving today's meal, I had to write this review. Sooooo I order the fish basket that came with 3 pieces of fried cod. When I opened the box I had to laugh . I thought I had the wrong order. The 3 pieces of fish were so small that I thought I had 3 Buffalo wings! WTH! The fish was over cooked (as you can see in the picture) and had a strange tangy taste, which I believe was bad fish. Needless to say I threw it away and enjoy my onion rings and shared my hubby's gyro salad which were good. In summary.... DO NOT order the fish basket unless you can pick up in person to check the quality and size of the fish nuggets. LOL! Not sure I will try this place again. Food was decent but got order wrong. Ordered two chicken gyros and two small cheese fries got home to find they only gave me one gyro and two fries for which they charged me $20 then had to go back to get another gyro for $10! Could not for the life of me figure out the cost. read more

I don't believe the bad reviews concerning the gyros or the counter help. As a matter of fact, the friendly, prompt service, executed with a great attitude and a smile ( all 3 visits) is what will make this place a success.
