I'm not normally a fast-food type of person, but I must admit that Raising Cane's chicken tenders…read morewere the juiciest, most tender chicken I've ever eaten. We were on the way to and afternoon adventure at a local theme park, and decided the kids needed to eat first. Raising Cane's won the "where" vote. And now I'm so glad. We ordered the Caniac for two adults and two kids. There was so much food on that platter, we had leftovers! Six juicy tenders, coleslaw, Texas Toast, and a large iced tea. The Texas Toast made my mouth happy! I could chow down on that awesome garlicky flavor all day. Obviously fresh bread, toasted to perfection. The coleslaw had just the right amount of sauce, not dry and not soupy. The fries were mostly meh, nothing spectacular, but then I bit into the chicken tenders. Wow, what a wonderful surprise, as I said earlier. The restaurant was clean and the staff were fast, efficient and friendly. If you like chicken tenders done right, I recommend a trip to Raising Cane's!

I decided to stick with the basics and just ordered one burger with cheese and NO pickles. I was in the drive through having just completed a visit to Costco (that is an entirely different story). The burger was huge but slapped together and fell apart as I tried to eat it. That was somewhat helpful as it assisted in the removal of five pickle slices. The meat looked more gray than cooked and flavor was uninspiring. The onions were fresh and crisp. With all the other options for fast food on errand day I suspect I won't be back.

This McDonalds is conveniently located nearby the Arrowhead Mall. The inside at first glance looks…read moreclean, but I could see trash and miscellaneous boxes being stored to the side of the kids play area. Ordering was a bit glitchy as several kiosks were out of order or took awhile to load screens. The food was normal McDonalds, tasted good but wasn't very pretty. For example my double cheeseburger was pretty squished when I unwrapped it. (I did eat there, so there was no bag squishing possible.) You can tell based on all the signage around the restaurant that they have issues with loitering. There were signs saying you can only be there 30 minutes, even if you eat something. And they keep the bathrooms locked (you have to be buzzed in by the counter). While the food was normal McDonalds, I would probably not come back to this spot as it just didn't feel right. Maybe the drive thru is the option so you don't need to see all the inside turmoil.

The staff was very friendly. There is a $0.30 upcharge for fried rice, but it didn't seem like traditional Chinese fried rice. It was more like white rice with soy sauce. My suggestion would be to make sure the rice is fried on the grill and seasoned a bit more. That said, the portion sizes are generous. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with steamed vegetables, upgraded to fried rice, and added a spring roll on the side for $1.80. My total was under $13, which is a great price. The spring roll was very good, and everything was freshly made. Overall, the food was good, but it could benefit from a little more seasoning, a more traditional fried rice for the upcharge, and additional teriyaki sauce on the chicken.
