The menu is always rotating with interesting and flavorful combinations: bechamel sauce and onion jam, figs and apples, wild mushrooms and spicy diablo sauce are all just a small sample of what I have experienced. And it is exactly those experiences that keep me coming back. If you're looking for a tasty slice to satisfy a craving or a whole pizza to feed a party Pie Sci is what i recommend!

They have a big dining area and each person is able to set up their own tab to manage their food and drink purchases. When you arrive, you get a wristband. This allows you to scan into the wall taps and fill up how ever much or little you want. They had a great selection of brews and I was especially impressed by a few local beers that were absolutely delicious! The pizzas are huge, so my only regret is not ordering one to share with a friend. I was able to only finish about a quarter of the small before having to call it quits. Detroit pizza is thick, so come hungry. While the pizzas were a hit, I have to say, the fries were a treat! They were so great! All in all- an excellent spot centrally located in Detroit!

And of course, when in Detroit, I knew I had to get myself some authentic Detroit-style pizza. I'm happy to say this place delivered. I sat at the bar, and I loved the beautiful display of bottles lining the shelves behind it. They even had one of those classic rolling ladders to reach the higher shelves! There was something so nostalgic and charming about the setup, and I loved the overall atmosphere. To start, I ordered their famous Cashew Caesar Salad, which was a flavorful take on a classic Caesar. The cashew caesar dressing was rich and savory, and the fried shallots added a nice crunch. I can definitely see why this salad is so popular! For my main, I ordered two pizzas: the Sausage + Pistachio and the Mushroom. Both came out piping hot and fresh. The crust practically screamed, "THIS is Detroit-style pizza!" The undercarriage was beautifully crisp, with just the right amount of crunch on the outside and soft, airy, and pillowy in the center. The texture of the pizzas was absolutely perfect! Of the two pizzas, the Sausage + Pistachio was hands down my favorite. What a clever and unique combination of ingredients! The Italian sausage, pistachios, ricotta, and rosemary complemented each other so nicely. It was such a memorable flavor combination that I actually found myself encouraging other patrons sitting next to me at the bar to order it too. That's how much I enjoyed this pizza! The Mushroom pizza had all the ingredients I would normally gravitate toward: a roasted garlic base, goat cheese, shiitake and cremini mushrooms, spinach, lemon, and basil. On paper, it sounded like my dream pizza! But for some reason, the flavors didn't quite hit home for me the way I had hoped. It was still enjoyable, especially with that perfect crust. Service was great! Even though the restaurant was busy, especially with so many people seated at the bar, staff was attentive and friendly. They made sure I was enjoying my food, checked in regularly, and kept my beverage filled. Another thing I really loved was the atmosphere and the mix of people dining here. It was so fun seeing visitors like myself coming in to try authentic Detroit-style pizza, and regulars who clearly knew and loved the place. If I ever find myself back in Detroit, I'll definitely be returning for another round of that Sausage + Pistachio pizza and salad!

We ordered the Last Sunrise in Tuscany and the 59 Barrera and Son. Both were absolutely delicious. We watched the bartender make the Last Sunrise in Tuscany and we had to ask about it. They make this with a house made syrup which isn't too far fetched for this restaurant. They try to make everything from scratch and it really shows in their offering. We were so hungry we had to order a couple things to share. But before we ordered we asked the bartenders (absolutely amazing) about what to order. Now when I say they gave the most elaborate explanation I could almost taste these dishes she was explaining them so well. She knows food and she knows good food. So we went with her recommendations based on what we were going for. We ordered the Duck, the Ravioli and the Rigatoni. When I'm telling you everything was perfect, it was PEFECT! The cook on everything, the favors that danced in my mouth. The filling of it all. I cannot wait to come back to try the rest of this menu. As dinner was winding down, I asked Kennedy to choose my last cocktail. She presented me with the most delightful white sangria and I was wowed by the flavor and lightness of it all. We then ordered a few lattes to go and we were talking about that dinner and restaurant for the rest of the week. Shea and Kennedy were absolutely amazing!

The bacon scone was absolutely outstanding, however you have to ask for butter for this, which is a must, but that was the only thing for a $325 brunch bill for 4 people. The entrees were cold when we received them, and one took so long to get that it was actually comped by the restaurant. The steak and egg benny was okay. The egg was overcooked and only jammy and not runny, and the croissant which had the steak on it was super oily and gross. There is a reason why a biscuit or english muffin is used in this dish, so whoever decided a croissant was a good idea is not smart, or eating the current weekend chef's food. The potato frites super greasy and oily as well as cold. Draining them on a paper towel would have been clutch. We had other entrees that no one finished because of the quality and taste of the food. It would have been helpful if the kitchen staff put the food under a salamander or heat light. If they have one of these, it certainly wasn't working that day in proper order. This is not a place I would ever go to brunch again. Maybe I would try dinner have one of their cheaper dinners as the $34 benny was overpriced and underperforming. I am giving this place three stars rather than one because the service was great unlike the food.

The brewery splits their offerings between Jolly Pumpkin sours and North Peak Brewing Company's variety of styles. My husband ordered a Jolly Pumpkin pint right away. I liked one of the samples. Jason, the manager, helped me make my final selection. I don't typically drink sours, but these weren't the kind that make you pucker. They were subtle. Definitely my kind of sours. Jason shared stories about the brewery's history and owner. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the place really came through. Lenice stopped by a few times to check if we needed anything. Both Lenice and Jason made this visit memorable. Lenice kept the energy light and friendly. We had some other issues with the dishes and the timing was so bad we were going to be late for our show if we waited again to re-do the dishes. She clearly wasn't listening to us. I get that they are busy. We weren't asking for a large amounts of accommodations or changes. Just a bit of separation and a recommendation for a red that was dry. I still love this place but it's this type of service that turn customers into 'difficult' because they need to be to ensure we get what we ask and are PAYING for. Unfortunately, this is two visits in a row now. Food is great, service is clueless, food timing is bad and service isn't listening.
