I'm downgrading my review because this is not the first time this has happened. I order through the app and my husband picked it up. I order Cauliflower crust as a Calexico with no Gorgonzola, extra chicken and extra jalepenos. Protein is my thing. If I am eating pizza I need it loaded with protein. I asked for it and I paid $16 dollars for a Mod size pizza only to get the normal amount of chicken. Only one woman in that place knows how to do it right and I haven't seen her there lately. The employee turnover there is very high so it makes me wonder what they are like to work for. I love the place itself, but I wish they'd get it right when I ask for extra I want extra. Not an extra single piece. I only got half of the photo because I was so hungry last night I didn't take a photo of the entire thing. This is the other half. Hardly any chicken. Discovered MOD pizza this year and I am a huge fan of their salads! What I love most is their portion sizes are generous and you build your own salad with tons of topping choices. Best of all there is no cap on the amount of toppings so if you want lots of blue cheese and ham with two pieces of lettuce, go for it. It's also very QUICK! If you dont have a lot of time the ordering process is fast and your salad is made to order in front of you in just a few minutes. While you can definitely carry out your order their dining room is spacious and clean with plenty of seating. During covid they have taken extra safety precautions like distancing dining tables, consistent cleaning and enforcing a mask policy. I love this location. There is plenty of space, plenty of staff to keep things moving and it's pretty clean - even the bathrooms (thankfully). I love that they now offer cauliflower crust as an option. I always get the mod size (medium/normal) and it's enough for lunch and leftovers. You can add as many toppings as you want at no extra cost. They options are endless- different sauces, greens, cheeses, meats, veggies and topping sauces. It is made in the brick oven, so sometimes it can take a little bit but it's totally worth it. If you're into salads.... Get one. They are huge (enough to share or have two meals for yourself). I had a pretty good idea how many stars I was going to give MOD with my first bite of the pizza. I got the cauliflower crust, just because I generally like the texture of it more. On a flavor stand point it was good, flavors were good, and as you can see from the photos they were not shy with the toppings. I really wish I could give them a better review. The pizza was slightly burnt. It smelled a lot more burnt than it was, and I couldn't really taste it, though I didn't eat the crust where it was blackened. The reason why I can't give them a higher score is because while eating my pizza a discovered a hair. I am the type that when I find a hair, I don't just pick it off and eat around it, it really grosses me out and I can't finish the meal. Which makes me concerned about the cleanliness. Yes accidents happen and hopefully my pizza was the only one with a hair in it. But at least for a while, I will not be returning. And just for those who are curious, it was not my hair, it was blonde and mine is black. All other points were good, I was greeted at the door, I was helped quickly, and they made sure my reason for cauliflower crust was preference rather than dietary. My husband is on a low-carb diet, so we've been frequenting MOD lately. You can choose from a pizza or salad, with several sizes available, and we always go for the MOD sized salad. MOD provides a menu if you need ideas, but you can get as many toppings as you'd like. I like that you're not nickle-and-dimed for each individual topping, because both of us love lots of ingredients in our salads. The toppings are fresh and abundant- and they have almost everything. You can get all the pizza meats on your salad if you're into that, but the vegetables are the star of the show. There's roasted red peppers, corn, carrots, several kinds of olives, and any cheese you can think of. If you want carbs with your salad, there's an option to get it on a pizza crust too. I can't imagine some of the toppings (like asparagus) on a pizza, but if that's your thing, let your imagination go wild and go for it. The portions are large, and I usually can't finish the MOD sized salad. Thankfully, you can get a to-go container. Both my husband and I can eat for around $20 and often have leftovers, so you can't beat the price. I'm not usually one for beer or wine with my salad or pizza, but on my last visit, I realized they do have a few beers on tap as well as some cans of wine. Nothing ruins a kids mood more than the pizza missing the cheese... my dad lovingly brought my child home a pizza after bragging about how amazing it was and my child was very disappointed when he opened the box to find zero cheese on his pizza. The employees working today were extremely unorganized and unprepared for customers, even though it was 2:00 pm. Me and my friend went in and were the only ones in line. Even with being the only two people in the place (the only other few people in there were already sitting down at a table and eating), it took 15 minutes to just take our order and waited another 10 minutes for our food to be cooked. The lady making my pizza used under the normal/acceptable amount of sauce and then proceeded to use the scraps of cheese that were left in the mozzarella bin on the right. I had never been made a pizza with so little cheese on it, it almost wasn't a pizza. She didn't even bother to get more cheese from the left mozzarella bin that still had plenty of cheese in it. There were three workers and one of the three we noticed was doing absolutely nothing but walking around sipping her drink. My pizza sat on the tier shelf to be put in the oven for 4-5 minutes. (Reminder we are their only customers) I'm writing this review to bring awareness to poor customer service at this location because it felt as if the employees could not provide even the bare minimum. The pizza wasn't topped very well at all, it was mostly missing everything on several pieces, it's like the cheese was thrown on and then fell off. Quick made to order pizza. The real perk of this place is that it costs nothing to add toppings, so it would be a great place to bring kids and let them get creative. Been to this location several times and never been disappointed. I love the "one price, all toppings are free" concept. Let's me try different topping combos each time I go. The 11" MOD pizza is a good deal at $8.27, especially if you like lots of stuff on your pizza, and will fill you up (or maybe have take-home leftovers). I highly recommend the sweet red peppers and roasted garlic. They also have salads if that's your thing. Service is always fast and the employees friendly. We had their "thicker" crust, which to me is still thin crust. We shared what we considered to be a medium. Just the right size for two adults. Cold beer, cider and other adult bevy's are available, besides non-alcoholic choices. Parking is a challenge, since this location shares the car park with many other vendors in a strip mall off of busy Sam Rittenberg. Staff are somewhat friendly. Eating area was clean. I went in for the promotion they were running to highlight the new Mega Dough pizza, which I think might be replacing the double decker Mega that we've all come to love. I'm a fan! MOD Pizza has a great business model: you can choose from one of their pizzas with their suggested topping combinations, or you can create your own... without being charged per topping! They also offer gluten-friendly crust, cauliflower crust (great for keto!), a small 6" pizza, and a "Mega Dough" thick crust. The standard pizza size is 11" and is plenty to fill me up with leftovers! They also offer salads (you can create your own, as well!), and a few sides (cheesy garlic bread, garlic strips, and cinnamon strips), fountain drinks, milkshakes, and beer/wine. The topping options are plentiful! At the time of this review, they offer 6 different choices for the sauce, 7 different cheeses (including dairy-free cheese), 9 different meats, 27 different "Veggies and Good Stuff", and 8 different finishing sauces. And, of course, the 4 different crust choices. That's 61 choices for you! The mind boggles. I let my boys choose their own toppings, they were super excited. My youngest son giggled at the "mama lil's sweet hot peppas" and the "Mike's Hot Honey" because he thought the names were hilarious. Silly boy! The quality of the food seemed very good, and the salad option was very exciting to me. I hate build-your-own salads that limit your toppings to 3 or 4 ingredients so the fact that I could put everything I wanted on the salad at no additional charge was amazing. The special pizza recipes were creative. If you have a hard time making a decision, I recommended trying one. I got the Ella and it had white sauce, sausage, onions and and siracha on top. It sounded like a crazy combination but it was absolute delicious. I would go back for this pizza alone. I would have liked to have seen the pizza crust a little crisper, and less dressing on my salad, but I will definitely go back for another meal.
