I went to MOD today for my first time ever with my Family. I have to be honest and say I was extremely disappointed. The person placing my meat/veggie topping rolled their eyes at me when I asked for extra pepperoni which they were extremely busy and I understand asking for extra can be a little frustrating. My biggest disappointment was when I received my pizzas they were ALL burnt on the edges (and I mean black) and pieces of the bottoms were burnt as well. We had to pick around it to make it edible and even then it was still tasting burnt. I would have asked for them to fix it but since it was the second opening day and a line out the door I decided to take my loss because requesting six new pizzas probably would have made their day horrible. The customer service other then that was great and the restaurant was clean and well stocked. They had employees busing tables to ensure room for people to sit. read more

It was my first time trying MOD pizza & I actually liked it a lot. I gave up pizza a while ago due to health reasons, but I'm glad i can finally have pizza again. You can customize your pizza however you want, Its perfect if you're watching your calories, it can definitely be "healthy". Choose your own crust, they also have dairy free options, which is great since i cant have dairy. The crust is thin & crispy too! Definitely recommend! read more

Nice idea when everybody is going to order something different but oh my god this place is SO slow. Any more than five people ahead of you in line, and you can plan on waiting 20+ minutes just to order. Their sign on the front of the building has the tagline of "Superfast." I think that they mean that ironically. read more

This is Castro valleys new hot spot. The pizza is so much better than any of our other pizza options. I love that you have unlimited options with all of the topping choices. Every time I've been there it has been crazy busy but the employees do a great job with getting our food to us quickly. Last night, Sarah made my pizza and it was delicious. She was quick and listened carefully to what I wanted and had great customer service. I didn't feel rushed or annoying for my picky toppings. The pizza was perfectly cooked with a little crunch of the crust, which I love. My only complaint would be that they don't have Dr. Pepper. All in all, the pizza is great, the customer service is amazing (especially the adorable, sweet Sarah) and the vibe is comfortable. It's much cheaper than most other pizza places but the quality is still so much better. Definitely my new go to pizza place is CV. read more

I was So excited to try this new pizza place. On Sunday Morning After Church service. I wasn't disappointed with the food and most importantly the customer service was great. Destiny was very helpful from beginning to end. I must say I think this place can be a replacement for my favorite place Blaze. read more

This place is very skimpy with their toppings. And, when I ask for more, the guy (with glasses) sprinkles a few little morsels more. It's a joke. What is this... Subways? If I'm going to spend close to $10 on a pizza, and purchase multiple pizzas, don't be a cheap company. It's not a good look. I feel cheated read more

Normally this place is pretty great, but last night my order was nearly 30 minutes late from the time it said it would be ready. I don't mind a five or ten minute delay, but 30 is beyond what I will tolerate. Furthermore, the people manning the store the last time I was there, didn't seem to care about the horrible customer service. It's good pizza, but not that good. read more

Disappointed. Gave me the wrong pizza and served the people after me their pizzas. They only gave me my pizza when I asked for it and it was the wrong one! Will not be coming here again read more

This is the new hype place in Castro Valley. I really cannot understand the excitement.. Everything from start to end went wrong! I ordered online. When I came to pick up my order, they didn't even start preparing it.. There is no clear indication where should you even pick up your order, so I stood in line for a while till I gave up, as it was super busy. Once I finally got to a cashier, they started preparing my order. That was already a few minutes after it should have been ready. Eventually, I got a burnt pizza, which wasn't that tasty, and a salad, with noon of my requested changes. They didn't even bother reading my request! My advice, save your time, go elsewhere! read more

I have enjoyed every trip to this Mod Pizza location. The staff are very friendly and conversational while taking orders. One Saturday morning around 11 we had a family lunch with 12 people. They were great about making sure everyone had what they needed. We were there with a few elderly family members and children. They staff were very accommodating to our larger party with varying degree of understanding of the menu options. I really like the cauliflower crust too. It was a nice addition to the menu. read more

I've been here a few times now with my wife and they have all been amazing sit downs! Like I have to stay down for awhile because they they don't hold back! Generous portions! Super friendly! They even told us about an old school mega pizza Erika and Rachel are just super pleasant and just all customer service! If you haven't been here and you live in Castro Valley then you are slippin! Oh and if you're worried about the taste... worry no more! Great flavor for amazing price! read more

Been here four times now and the pizza is awesome. Love the fresh ingredients and friendly service but on a side note. Ok I came in yesterday and the place was a mess. Came back today because it's quick and easy. The place looks as if no one even cleaned behind the counter in a week. Plus I just witnessed some major health code violations. Might be my last time here. Pizza doughs left out near floor uncovered. Cashier takes my money and doesn't even wash hands before putting used glove back on. The bar is filthy and no one seems to care to wipe of the spills. It's not busy in here. Dining room is filthy. No manager in sight read more

Great pizza and friendly service. Their pizza customization is much like Subway where the ingredients are all in front of you. Their response during covid is also very effective read more

This was my first time ever going to a place like this. Jesse was extremely helpful and even followed up afterwards to make sure I was satisfied with my food. read more

Z Pies taste great. But no Supervision, no discipline, floor & counters dirty, no proper food handling operation. Employees on cellphone(means disgusting) at all time while handling ready to eat food. No hair nets or caps, always touching or hand styling hair, then handle ready to eat food again. We'll make your judgement. We trust you for proper, safe and sanitary food. '' WE ARE ALL ABOUT SECOND CHANCES", But I'LL give a third chance. You are ready. I'll be back again. Since I love your thin pies pizza. read more

Ordered two pizzas Saturday for curbside pickup and I have got to say the service was great and the pizza was awesome. Great job!

As others mentioned , this place does need work . This is my second time coming here . My deal is the amount of toppings & how cheap they are . While I was ordering , (the girl is new -very nice I might add) more people came in , so Bryan took over . (I know his name because another employee shouted it out like 100 times) he was listening to me but also helping her , no problem there . But when she started making the pizza .. she started adding the sauce , and he told her half of that , she had to put the rest of the sauce back . There was almost no sauce on mine or theirs . He also makes them measure the cheese . I asked him , after I added all my toppings would he please add more cheese on top . He said no problem , but as soon as he was done adding my last topping , an employee not on the clock walked in and he grabbed my pizza , and walked away , talking to her . I didn't get my extra cheese . Bummer . read more

You have to try this pizza place. It's very popular in the area. You can select as many toppings you want for the same price. They have a standard size for pizza and is only $8.47. Make sure you stop by because you won't be sorry. Delicious pizza and fresh taste every time. read more

Great pizza! Love coming here a few times a month. I always come at night and there is usually a bit of a wait, so be ready for that. Service is usually good, even if a bit slow. I don't mind, but I have definitely seen people get a bit frustrated. The staff here is usually really nice. read more

Fantastic pizza! Mod pizza is probably the best pizza place in Castro Valley. The prices are really great and all the mod pizzas are priced the same (no matter how many toppings). If you're looking for pizza, this place is the place to go! read more

Just wanted to leave a review based on a recent experience there. Two of the employees were having a rather loud argument with each other about some trivial nonsense. Just a really unprofessional look. You can't be arguing like that, even if you're playing, in front of the entire house. If I were the manager, I'd have fired them on the spot. When you have customers looking up from their meals to see what's going on, you probably need to take it down a peg or two. read more

pretty good, great selection of toppings. ample seating inside and out! Out with an old friend for some conversation and food! She suggested here! was easy on the budget and tasty! read more

Mod pizza seems to be doing everything right--great prices, large portion, fresh customizable toppings, friendly service--but the result was somehow lackluster. I was particularly unimpressed with how bland the dough was. I got the white sauce, and it seemed like a lot went on but the pizza was still pretty dry. I guess it was "too healthy" for me: it was filling but not satisfying. read more

Imagine Chipotle with pizza. That's Mod Pizza for you. It's not a bad thing because the food is good. Creating a pizza for first-time customers is easy because the toppings are labeled. I didn't have to wait very long for my pizza to be done in the oven. Maybe 2 minutes tops. I was met with very nice staff and very nice food. Plus, there's free stickers. Worst customer service ever, I don understand, when u are not busy. You work slow and take your with the customer but it doesn't take three people to communicate with one person while in the meantime I'm standing there waiting for my pizza to get made over 10 minutes so yes I did get frustrated. Very tempted of walking out but I did not want to waste any food. The object is super fast I shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes when there's three other people in there to make a pizza when it says the object of it is super fast. Then I said excuse me to get the attention of one of the persons that was making the pizza and she just ignored me I said it loud enough at least five times never looked up to me at all and just ignored me which was the rudest thing ever. I had to go to the only guy that was standing there not doing anything but ringing up people to ask if he can make my pizza if somebody can make my pizza because it's been sitting there with sauce for over 10 minutes and I need it to go the whole object of it again it's super fast. Worst customer service ever!!!! read more
