Just what Waverly needed! MOD Pizza is a great addition to this shopping center and the area. I'm not a fan of the "fast food" chains in the area because they tend to be too salty for me, so having MOD open a location near us is great! There are a variety of pizza creations to choose from or you can create your own -- and it's basically as many toppings as you want for the same price: fabulous! We tried both a regular crust and one of the thicker crusts. They end up cooking the main pizza part with the same thickness and we only noticed a difference in the crust: the thick crust was a lot more puffed up, and the regular was a thin crust. The toppings were fresh and there are lots of meat, veggie, and cheese options. I went to a Brixx location earlier in the week for the first time and that allowed me to make a comparison between the two with fresh tastebuds ;) I prefer the pizza at MOD to Brixx, they are definitely similar though. The price seemed slightly lower at MOD too. And, my sweet tooth really liked the "no name cake" at MOD Pizza. If I lived closer to a Brixx, that may be a spot we would frequent more often, but overall I do prefer MOD. The staff is also very friendly at MOD Pizza. They greet everyone who walks in with a hearty hello. When we were there it was somewhat of an off time, but the employees really made an effort to make my kiddo happy and even let her choose a free gift just for being there (why she chose yet another frisbee instead of something she could use though...haha!). $8.99 for an 11 inch pizza, anything you want on it. There us no extra charge for toppings which is nice but taste is just. . So so .. nothing to write home and brag about but a cheap priced lunch for the area, so happy about that. read more

I ordered pizza online for my son's birthday on Jan 3rd (I placed the order on Jan 2nd). I got messages along the way that order received, getting prepared and got 3-4 different delivery messages and finally got cancelled after more than 1 hour. I kept calling without any luck. By the time order was cancelled it was too late and kids were very hungry and I rushed to the pizza store. To my surprise the pizza store was closed. Went in for a late lunch. They custom make your pizza while you watch. Very thin crust which was excellent. Nice tangy red sauce. Great variety of toppings. Pizza is done pretty quick because they are 11" personal size with the thin crust - nice flavor to the crust with right blend of crispy and chewy. Place has a nice casual and comfortable vibe and the people are very nice. This is probably as good a pizza as I've had in Cary. A little like California pizza kitchen but better. I don't get it. Overpriced 11" pizzas, that's the only size. Our first time there this past Saturday. Had to wait in line with 3 people in front of us for 15 minutes. When we ordered it was for two pizzas and a salad. I asked three times how long it would take and never got an answer. 6 minutes later the salad was ready. 9 minutes after the order was placed the first pizza was ready. So I'm standing there where the first pizza is, waiting, and someone asked me, did you have anything else? And I said 'yes, a 2nd pizza'. Dumbfounded, the oven guy looks on the rack of pizzas waiting to go in and guess what? Our 2nd pizza. Ooops. So the 2nd pizza goes in. I wait another ten minutes more and we have our second pizza. Count all as 20 minutes to get our food. The greek salad was good. The others pizzas were 'good', but nothing outstanding, at least not to warrant the price for the size and the haphazard service. In this part of Cary there are a lot of expensive SUVs in the parking lot so I have to figure that Mod pizza is for people who have more than enough money to know what to do with and who like feeling they are getting something special. My husband and I were part of the training day. I felt the staff behind the counter and in front were very enthusiastic. The concept is that you order at the counter and you can choose from pizzas that on the menu board or build your own. They are 10" pizzas and you can see all the toppings and as you go down the line. You can choose what you want if you do "build your own" which I chose to do. I ordered the regular red sauce with ham, spicy sausage (which was a little spicy but I didn't think overwhelming), artichokes, mushrooms and black olives. I thought mine was good along with the Cesar salad. I asked for them to add black olives and they did. The salads are pretty big. I could have shared with hubby. My husband ordered one of the menu pizzas which had spicy sausage and he added jalapenos which he said made it pretty spicy. He got the simple salad and said it was good. I thought it is a good concept and really appreciated how the staff were really friendly and tried to make our experience a pleasant one. We will be back. read more

Very unprofessional. When we walked in, no one greeted us and when they finally did take care of us, she said "What do you want?". Unfriendly service, and the employees were having an argument with each other. The what appeared to be manager was on the phone arguing about her position, which we could overhear. I've liked this format of pizza places around the triangle that sprouted in the past few years. They've all done well and very reasonably priced. I was eager to try MOD and see how it compares to others. It didn't disappointed. Service was friendly and effective. Choices are plenty and quite standard actually. Atmosphere is trendy and clean. If I could give them a 10 star review I would, because 5 isn't enough!!! The food was fantastic, but what set this place above any dining experience I've ever had was the employees!!! Q, Eli, and Cory went above and beyond their jobs for me and my son tonight. I lost my mother today and Q could see it on my face. They're cauliflower crust has flour in it and has more carbs than their regular crust. It's really good but you can see by the nutritional information there's a lot more flour than cauliflower. Pizza is really good and have always had good service but really disappointed with a 10" pizza having 87 grams of carbs - crust only!!! read more

First visit! I wasn't expecting much But. I was definitely surprised! Everything seemed very fresh and the pizza crust was great! I mistakenly ordered the doubled crust which is a bit thicker than their thin Mod crust. Loved it! Love the set price and ability to choose as many toppings as you wish! Same for the salad! This place is similar to Pieology. You basically customized your own pizza. The staff is always friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask for help if it's your first time. My food was ok but I feel like the employees greatly missed the mark when it comes to customer service towards me. I noticed when I sat down to eat my salad that I was treated differently than the other customers who came in after me. The staff was generally nicer to them. The only employee who was remarkably very nice was the lady who initially took my order. Otherwise I didn't receive any type of energetic greeting or thank you but all of the other customers who came in after me did. There is no type of diversity among the employees which prob played a part in me not receiving good service. Went tonight for dinner for there training. I've had better pizza. Red sauce real spicy. Started eating small pizza with red sauce and pineapple. It was to spicy to eat. Great customer service and food. Went there for the second time tonight and it was better than the first one. Pizza crust was good and I love being able to LOAD IT UP with unlimited toppings. This is my second visit here. Strangely, got the same 11" pizza both times. Service was rather speedy, both times the person taking my order did not give me a fountain drink cup or thanked me, or instructed me that they would call my name when the pizza was ready. Had to ask fore a drink cup, the person missed spelled my name and walked around the store looking for Mitchell, I am Michael.... While waiting for my pizza, the guy manning the oven took his hat off twice, fixed his unruly hair directly above pizzas he was cutting, wiped his face and continued with his tasks----disgusting! My pizza was tasty, but at $7.99 for the pizza, a whopping $2.27 for a fountain drink ( I think Reys Steakhouse charges about the same!) plus tax, about $11.00, not a good value no matter how many toppings you load on the thinnest of crust pizza----for ONE person. I am so disappointed and will not be returning. I came in to get a pizza to- go for my son who has food allergies....and was treated like it was a total inconvenience for the staff. They seemed confused and annoyed by my request for them to NOT use the same ladle as they use on the other pizzas containing wheat. I will continue to feed my family at Blaze be because they are always willing to accommodate my family's food allergies. I love the concept! It was my first visit and I'm definitely going back. The employees were friendly and helpful. The store was spotless. The prices are great. For me the only downside was the super thin crust but my daughter loved it. I would order the thicker crust next time and skip the whole roasted garlic cloves because it's just too much for me personally. The mistakes we made were caused by ordering online for our first visit. This is the one place I'd recommend NOT ordering online because they truly customize your pie while you're standing there-what's not to like about that?!?! read more
