I love this place!! Our little girl is usually super nervous about being groomed since she's had a couple traumatizing experiences at other places (ahem, Petsmart in Round Rock) and for the longest time we only took her to a private groomer who operated out of her home. When she got injured & couldn't take on anymore clients we had to find a new groomer and I was nervous about leaving her all day but they take great care of the dogs while there & each dog has their own little gated off area - no, not a huge space but more than a little kennel they get shacked up in at Petsmart! Our usually-shaky little girl was actually asleep when I went to pick her up the first time!!!! I was also SO impressed with the cut they did - usually when I try to give specifics on how we like the puppy cut to look, we end up with the standard Q-tip looking cut. They legit followed exactly what we wanted, when I said hmm maybe 3/4 of an inch? They ACTUALLY did 3/4 of an inch!! Her nails were done just right instead of still being way too long. I've only been here for nail trim, Everyone is so nice and professional. The place is very clean and dogs look relaxed.

After multiple attempts at other groomers, I think Salsa has finally found her dog salon home. I really like how there is a drop off and pick up window time frame. The salon smells good and not like a kennel. I love that the little cubbies are gated and open so the other dogs can watch each other get groomed. Salsa feels soft and clean for several days after her appointment. They cut her exactly as I ask and I believe their prices are very reasonable. I paid more at PetSmart (they did a good job) but she's kept in a kennel until I pick her up and I don't like that. Even if it is just 30 minutes. ModdMutt is really more like a salon for pets. read more

Booking was super easy and pricing was transparent. Since I'm still new to grooming a maltipoo, I had neglected her tummy and there were some mats, and the groomer said they could just shave her underside but still keep the rest of her hair longish. But then they found some mats on her butt (also due to my neglect), and suggested that they just shave her down to the point where she has no mats left. I was afraid she'd be shaved down all the way and looking like a different dog (which has happened before), but she ended up looking super cute! So my dog is 65 lbs of high maintenance - that's a nice way to put it. He's an Australian Shepherd / lab mix and we only groom him 3x / year because his undercoat gets soooo thick and he gets burrs/matting that he won't let you get out. In the past, I have to rotate groomers because he's so bad. The last two groomers I've taken him to have only been able to groom half of him (either the front half or the top half, but not his whole body) and no groomer has EVER been able to clip his nails. Lori did it ALL he looks awesome and he came back not as stressed as he normally is after an "attempted" groom. I've sent his photo to all his friends/family/followers and no one can believe what a great job she did. She even gave him a pretty good report and made me feel not too bad about how bad I know he can be.... the true test will be if she allows him to come back for a second time. Either way, I will continue to relish in this first and only awesome grooming experience! read more

Today was our first visit to Mod Mutt and I couldn't be happier! Everyone was so sweet, friendly and personable. The reservation process online is really easy and I quickly received a confirmation email. We have a small shih tzu with VERY fine hair so it gets matted easily despite brushing him daily. Some groomers have been a bit judgmental but Mod Mutt was not at all. They did an amazing job with him and he even came home with a bow tie!! Everyone seems to truly care about the animals there and when I arrived there were lots of dogs happily hanging out in a gated area getting pets and love from the groomers. I immediately felt comfortable leaving our pup there, who excitedly trotted off with one of the groomers to hang out :) The salon itself is well-kept, clean and welcoming. I've got a big, fluffy, long-haired dog and this is the only groomer that works for me. I bring him in for baths and they always send him back to me fully dry! I pay more here than at some of the large chains but it's really worth it. So many times I've picked him up from those places after baths and he's still damp for several hours. The deshedding treatment at Mod Mutt is also much better than those other places -- so helpful as it gets warmer. read more

My kitty is 14 and has been through a sickness and an injury in the past 4 years so she is like a 95 year old woman who has stopped grooming herself. Lori bathed her 3 times to get her clean and carefully brushed the fur matting that had accumulated over the summer out of her backside and tummy area until she was perfectly groomed.
