My new rescue dog Fritz is a little nervous and new to everything. The staff was very patient and gentle with him and he left looking fantastic! He was really calm when I picked him up and wasn't nervous at all. I called on Thursday and they were able to get us in early Saturday. I dropped him off at 9 and had him back by noon! I love that they give the pups potty breaks and have an in-house (beautiful poodle) pup that seems to be the ringleader and reassured the others that everything's ok! I also really like that they have big open stalls for the pups and don't keep them in small kennels. All in all the experience was superb and we will definitely be back! Welcome to the neighborhood Mod Mutt Salon, we're so glad to have you guys here! read more

We love Mod Mutt! This is the second time we took our dog there and they have done an amazing job both times. The first time we took her for a full groom and the second time just a fanny/face/feet groom and both times we've been very impressed! I've never had a groomer do such a thorough job on such sensitive areas like her paws and ears - they are pristine! She also seems happy (which is huge for our nervous rescue pup) and it's understandable once you meet the employees because they are so kind! Highly recommend! read more

In 15 minutes or so they managed to tame our wild dog and trim her nails way better than I was ever able to ! Moreover, my dog does not play well with other dogs and they offered me a time slot where I could come in when it would be quiet and that was SO much appreciated !!! Just absolutely excellent service and the kennels to store pups are right where they are working so your pups are never alone. read more

I've been coming here for about two years and I'm always very happy with my dogs grooming! I have a miniature Australia shepherd and I like to change up her cut in the summer and winter and I'm always very happy with the results... looks good and smells good! The staff is friendly and welcoming. They're great at keeping in touch and contacting you for questions about the grooming. Thank you for taking such good care of my pup! read more

Brought my furry baby here for the first time. She is very shy and nervous around new people. I explained all of this to the groomer and they reassured me. My baby was calm and happy to see us when we arrived to pick her up. I was told she did pretty well. I appreciated their understanding and their feedback on how my baby did during the grooming. This place will definitely be our grooming place! read more

Costumer service is on point here and they gave my pup a great cut. My only reservation is my pup was nipped near his booty which made him very uncomfortable for days. I get that this happens and I didn't want to take away from my first impression of their grooming salon. I'll be taking him back, next time I'll just have to warn them of his sensitive areas. read more

This is the only groomer we will take our dog to!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND any of your most picky puppies to get their groom on here!! I've referred this salon to many of my friends and everyone has RAVED about them! read more

We've been using Lorianne for years and we're so excited about her branching off on her own! We dropped Mumbles and Bo off early morning and they were returned to us looking better than ever by early afternoon. Our pups and us love Lorianne and her patience and good attitude, we know the big dog can be a handful and pretty vocal! We highly recommend Mod Mutts Salon to anyone and everyone. read more

Mod Mutt Salon - Mumbles and Bo after their fresh cut Friday - Pet Groomers Near Me - Austin, Texas

We've been taking our three pups here for a couple years now and have no complaints. We have two small dogs and a large furry dog, and the folks at Mod Mutt are excellent at both types of cuts. The location is good, right off Lamar at 183- super accessible for Crestview, Wooten, Allandale, Domain, etc. We especially appreciate their flexibility on pickup times, price, and love for our fur kids ;) read more

I take my toy poodle to get groomed here about once every 8 weeks. The professionals are always able to squeeze him in and complete his visit in a matter of 3-4 hours. They do an awesome job of giving him the perfect teddy bear haircut and always send him home with the cutest bow tie around his neck. My dog is 15 years old so I appreciate their gentleness with him while he is in their care. They do a stellar, spot on job consistently every time. read more

Took Our 3 dogs there & got Beautiful results! They Feel & LOOK SO Much Better. We'll Be Back!

Love this place! I drive a long way to this place because they take such great care of our dog, seem to really like pets and do a great job grooming. Our dog is a very nervous type dog and it's hard to find a good groomer. Kira did a great job and was very patient and loving to out Wheaten Terrier! read more

Friendly staff. Great working with a tricky coated breed (rough collie), who needs to be brushed and undercoat removed without shaving, and them trimmed up a bit here and there, etc. Sent me some hilarious before and after pictures. Genuinely seem to like dogs and enjoy their work. True professionals. read more

The best groomer I have ever found. Everyone makes it easy to make and appointment and the folks here do a fantastic cut on our miniature schnauzer. Even better, our dog is always happy to come into the shop for her grooming. She has been very fearful at all the other groomers she's gone to in Austin so that's high praise from our dog too. Thanks for being the greatest! read more

Took my dog there for a first cut last week. He came back so cute and they followed my instructions for specific areas. They were super quick too! read more

I love this place!! Our little girl is usually super nervous about being groomed since she's had a couple traumatizing experiences at other places (ahem, Petsmart in Round Rock) and for the longest time we only took her to a private groomer who operated out of her home. When she got injured & couldn't take on anymore clients we had to find a new groomer and I was nervous about leaving her all day but they take great care of the dogs while there & each dog has their own little gated off area - no, not a huge space but more than a little kennel they get shacked up in at Petsmart! Our usually-shaky little girl was actually asleep when I went to pick her up the first time!!!! I was also SO impressed with the cut they did - usually when I try to give specifics on how we like the puppy cut to look, we end up with the standard Q-tip looking cut. They legit followed exactly what we wanted, when I said hmm maybe 3/4 of an inch? They ACTUALLY did 3/4 of an inch!! Her nails were done just right instead of still being way too long. This is a stellar grooming facility and really reasonably priced for the quality & environment you get! Oh and the super cute little bow ties every time?! Gah! read more

I've only been here for nail trim, Everyone is so nice and professional. The place is very clean and dogs look relaxed.

After multiple attempts at other groomers, I think Salsa has finally found her dog salon home. I really like how there is a drop off and pick up window time frame. The salon smells good and not like a kennel. I love that the little cubbies are gated and open so the other dogs can watch each other get groomed. Salsa feels soft and clean for several days after her appointment. They cut her exactly as I ask and I believe their prices are very reasonable. I paid more at PetSmart (they did a good job) but she's kept in a kennel until I pick her up and I don't like that. Even if it is just 30 minutes. ModdMutt is really more like a salon for pets. read more

We have two small dogs- Lori has taken excellent care of them for several years [at a prior employer and now in her own shop]. Wonderful service, reasonable fees for grooming, and they can groom to meet my time windows. Can't do better than that. 5 stars, Lori and Mod Mutt! read more

Booking was super easy and pricing was transparent. Since I'm still new to grooming a maltipoo, I had neglected her tummy and there were some mats, and the groomer said they could just shave her underside but still keep the rest of her hair longish. But then they found some mats on her butt (also due to my neglect), and suggested that they just shave her down to the point where she has no mats left. I was afraid she'd be shaved down all the way and looking like a different dog (which has happened before), but she ended up looking super cute! Glad I finally found a grooming service I feel comfortable returning to. read more

So my dog is 65 lbs of high maintenance - that's a nice way to put it. He's an Australian Shepherd / lab mix and we only groom him 3x / year because his undercoat gets soooo thick and he gets burrs/matting that he won't let you get out. In the past, I have to rotate groomers because he's so bad. The last two groomers I've taken him to have only been able to groom half of him (either the front half or the top half, but not his whole body) and no groomer has EVER been able to clip his nails. Lori did it ALL he looks awesome and he came back not as stressed as he normally is after an "attempted" groom. I've sent his photo to all his friends/family/followers and no one can believe what a great job she did. She even gave him a pretty good report and made me feel not too bad about how bad I know he can be.... the true test will be if she allows him to come back for a second time. Either way, I will continue to relish in this first and only awesome grooming experience! read more

Today was our first visit to Mod Mutt and I couldn't be happier! Everyone was so sweet, friendly and personable. The reservation process online is really easy and I quickly received a confirmation email. We have a small shih tzu with VERY fine hair so it gets matted easily despite brushing him daily. Some groomers have been a bit judgmental but Mod Mutt was not at all. They did an amazing job with him and he even came home with a bow tie!! Everyone seems to truly care about the animals there and when I arrived there were lots of dogs happily hanging out in a gated area getting pets and love from the groomers. I immediately felt comfortable leaving our pup there, who excitedly trotted off with one of the groomers to hang out :) The salon itself is well-kept, clean and welcoming. I can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back in a few months! read more

I've got a big, fluffy, long-haired dog and this is the only groomer that works for me. I bring him in for baths and they always send him back to me fully dry! I pay more here than at some of the large chains but it's really worth it. So many times I've picked him up from those places after baths and he's still damp for several hours. The deshedding treatment at Mod Mutt is also much better than those other places -- so helpful as it gets warmer. read more

I have a Maine Coon cat--I asked for a lion cut and got back a shoddy looking animal with not even a pop-pom for his tail and it cost $109. When I went to retrieve him, the groomer who did him yells from her station to me in the reception area that she had a hard time grooming him and gave three excuses why! I've had no such experience from other groomers and I will NEVER go back! read more

My recently adopted dog was sort of a hot mess of fur and I knew the 100 degree days were quickly approaching so when I heard a new dog groomer opened up near my neighborhood, I booked an appointment for a summer shave. They did an amazing job with her and it wasn't a whole day ordeal like at other places. I dropped her off in the morning and she was ready to be picked up during my lunch break. The next time she needs a good grooming, we will definitely use Mod Mutt again. read more

I highly recommend Mod Mutt Salon!!! Lori, the salon's owner, personally took care of my kitty Blondie and I don't think I can say enough about what an amazing job she did for her!!! My kitty is 14 and has been through a sickness and an injury in the past 4 years so she is like a 95 year old woman who has stopped grooming herself. Lori bathed her 3 times to get her clean and carefully brushed the fur matting that had accumulated over the summer out of her backside and tummy area until she was perfectly groomed. My kitty has become a new cat since this grooming, she is eating better and is so happy now! She is even back to purring! Thank you so much Lori!! read more

I give Mod Mutt Salon more than 5 stars! The entire staff was awesome in taking care of boarding my cat. I could tell that the entire staff loves animals and I knew my cat was in good hands. The cage my cat was in was bigger and roomier than anticipated and it was the best rate I could find throughout the entire city. So not only was it affordable but the quality of the service was also outstanding as the staff also bent over backwards in accommodating me. I'm definitely leaving my cat with Mod Mutt Salon when I leave town again! read more
