Lack of a cheese pull and cheese not being hot for my half mozz/half dog corn dog made this underwhelming. Donuts are good though!

I stopped by on a chilly day for some tea. I was feeling under the weather and I saw they had a ginger tea. I ordered a hot one and decided to go for a sesame mochi donut as well. The tea was wonderful and soothing. The donut was not bad, but you could tell it had been sitting there for a while since it didn't have much bounce. Don't understand the rave reviews about the freshness of the mochinuts. Came at 4:30 pm on a Sunday. Got two mochinuts: Matcha and Ube and both were room temp and did not taste fresh at all. As if they were made in the morning and left out all day. Maybe our timing wasn't right but I assumed they were made fresh and served warm. They looked pretty but that's about it. read more

Great quality, but you have to eat it the same day otherwise it gets hard, my favorite one out of the ones I selected was chocolate surprisingly! I love the dried strawberry on the strawberry donut but the icing was little too sweet compared to the others, but if you like the sweetness, try the strawberry. Yummy little mochi! The happiest atmosphere and even better food. You can't go wrong.

This is the second mochi donut store in Philadelpha that I visit. I like the fact that they open at ten to enjoy the donuts as breakfast. I suggest that they display their hours by the door. I came in early because they posted on Instagram that there was a long line the day before. Fortunately, there was no one in line. However, the disadvantage of coming in early is the only some varieties were ready. I was told that more would come out in 10 minutes. The girl who helped me wasn't friendly, no welcoming smile at all. I said I would wait but the server packed up the donuts with the kinds that were on the display. What I don't like about the setup of the store is that the donuts are displayed on the side with no labels. So you order on the counter first and you have to ask the selections that are available. There's no list of flavors. What I suggest is to check out the display before ordering. After you place your order, they will give you a number and then call you when it's ready. The eating area is clean and nicely decorated. Besides the donuts, they serve corn dogs, teas, other deserts such as French macarons, tiramisu, cheesecake. My favorite donuts are: chocolate, mango strawberry. The glazed donut has frosting that taste like canned vanilla frosting. Too sweet for me. The others are decent. Mochi donuts are better than regular donuts. There! I said it! Although I've never had mochi donuts before going to Mochinut, I've always wanted to try them, so I'm glad this option exists. And it's a good option! I've got no complaints about any of the flavors I got, but my favorite was definitely the plain one. read more

The daily selection of mochi donut flavors changes, but there are plenty and easy to find some for everyone. It's freshly made and you can certainly taste it. We especially like the sesame one. I split the hot cheetos half-cheese & half-sausage corn dog and the potato half-cheese & half sausage corn dog with my partner. I would definitely recommend the potato corn dog--it's crispy, hot, and has a really good cheese pull. I would skip the hot cheetos dog because the hot cheetos crust didn't really add anything to the flavor of the sausage or the cheese. The food came out in like 10min. The outside of the establishment is very modest looking. Borderline boring. But the interior is an Instagram influencers dream! Second only to the delicious food and beverages themselves. I have been wanting a mochi doughnut for months now and Mochinut did not disappoint. I got the three piece special and got the original, the matcha and the guava. The batter and consistency of the doughnuts was exactly what I imagined it would be; fluffy and a little chewy like mochi. They were decorated beautifully and I have to say the guava was my favorite. It was a fun surprise that they also made Korean hot dogs! Something else I wanted to try. They offer half and half dogs so I got the half mozarella which turned out to be a block of mozarella in the top half and a juicy beef hot dog in the bottom half. I also got the potato half and half which meant the outside coating had pieces of French fries in it. I think they might use the doughnut batter to coat the dogs but that was a good choice because the dog itself was light and fluffy and not greasy. The only thing I would have wished is instead of half and half that they wrapped the cheese around the dog but that's purely for selfish cheese loving reasons. Overall, if you have read this far, this will be a regular spot for me now. read more

I've been here twice and the first time I decided to give the establishment the benefit of the doubt. But I did not feel welcomed here at all. The staff was not warm, welcoming or courteous. Both times the cashier was rolling their eyes or gave me sass. Not only that they don't even seem to want to be there. The teas taste too artificial, the Korean hot dogs are not properly breaded so it's just a mess to eat. Honestly most of the experience was soured by the staff there. If they don't even want to be there don't spend your money here. Take your business to an establishment that wants to service and welcome you. (And to top it off the food is overpriced for the quality) read more

I found this place online, and was very curious to try! I've always wanted to try Korean donuts, so I was excited to get some to try. When I walked in, the vibes were immediately off. The entire place was empty and silent, there was no music playing. When I asked the cashier questions, she stared at me like I had a third head and only answered yes or no. The interior was kinda cute, but one section of the wall was clearly meant to be photographed for Instagram. I had perused their menu online prior to stopping by, but they didn't have the drink I wanted to try, even though it was heavily advertised on their site's front page. I tried the Nutella, Chocolate, and Cookies N Cream doughnuts. They were okay. They're visually cute, but the taste is meh. They weren't cooked that well, the texture of each donut was weirdly different than the other. The chocolate glaze on the Nutella donut was weirdly wrinkly like it was separating and the texture was off. Whole Foods has better-tasting donuts that are half the price. Maybe if these were cheaper it would be worth it, but as it stands, they're not worth $5 per donut. read more

Got the Nutella and brown sugar boba flavors. The nutella one was better in my opinion because the brown sugar boba tasted a little too sweet (but still tasted like boba), but both had a nice mochi texture. Great to see another mochi donut location open in Philly! Every place I've tried, including locations in Japan, make their mochi donuts differently. Mochinut in particular is chewy and light. There's various flavors to choose from. My favorite was the black sesame. The other flavors were ok also including the matcha and banana. The milk tea flavor was disappointing. For the corn dog, I tried the potato with half mozzarella and half hotdog. It was a little strange since the top half had mozzarella and the bottom half was all hotdog. I would've preferred hotdog + mozzarella evenly dispersed together. However the crunchy potato exterior definitely made it delicious and filling! The to go boxes for the corn dogs are great since it has a hole for the stick. read more

I went yesterday with family and we ordered three Korean corn dogs, three drinks and two donuts . The corn dog was ok I didn't finish it. The donuts definitely stole the show, they were amazing and fresh. I personally recommend the strawberry flavor. My one problem was that I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and they definitely gave me one with regular cows milk. I don't drink dairy because I'm allergic to it. So it was annoying to deal with the pain of trying to digest it. Needless to say I had a horrible time later that night when I realized their error. Maybe don't order milk type drinks if you have a sensitivity to dairy. I regret trying to get one. TL;DR They used regular milk in my latte when I asked for almond milk and I had a hard time digesting it. Don't order the corn dog but get the donuts they're delicious. read more

I went there before going to another business nearby with a group of friends. Ordered two jasmine milk teas and waited 25 minutes to get just one drink. Had to leave without the other drinks since our reservation to the other place was pretty strict. Quality wasn't bad, but service was lackluster to say the least. read more

Stopped in an hour before closing, I understand that certain flavors for mochinuts would be limited. Walked into the store at 6:02, placed my order and paid for a half dozen box at 6:08 pm. Orders didn't seem to be fulfilled in sequential order. A customer mentioned that he had waited 35 min for his one Korean corn dog order. A large party arrived about 15 min into my wait, they ordered 12 donuts of what was remaining in the inventory. 2 additional orders that occurred after mine were also served, yet my order was never called nor did the staff acknowledge me. At 6:30, when the store had slowed down, I asked about my order and was told that the flavors I ordered were not available and that another customer must have taken my order, when in fact all orders were given by hand by the cashier upfront and my ticket had not been called.
