This was my 1st time here. I originally walked in here thinking they were the same one I visited in Fair Oaks Mall. Oops. I was thinking they had a selection of hot drinks....I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a slightly larger drink selection than the $2.00 coffee, especially to go with the donuts! I was super excited to get a hot dog!! I chose the original with half cheddar/half mozzarella. It was very good. Isabella was very friendly and inviting as soon as we walked in. However, they are either backed up with the cooking or understaffed.. The cooking time took a while, and Isabella had to ring up customers as well as make the drinks, serve the food, etc. There were a few tables available inside, as well as outdoor seating a few stores down. They are on the same block/building as Altitude, so there is a parking garage around the corner, as well as some parking in the front of the storefronts. Would I return? Absolutely for sure read more

Many things about this place are great. The Mochi Donuts are amazing with many varieties of flavors that seem to change very often. There are flavors for those who like sweet and those who don't. The staff are nice and the overall environment of the shop is very comfortable. read more

I went here with my mom and brother and WOW this place blew me away. The food is absolutely amazing and so is the boba tea. I highly recommend the classic boba milk tea and the churro doughnut (both were perfection). The doughnuts were genuinely the softest I've ever had, and the hotdog was super good too. I got the ramen one with mozzarella inside, and it was delicious. The staff was honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. They explained the menu clearly, made great recommendations, and told us our order would take 7-10 minutes, but it was ready in about 5. The inside is also really cute, which just adds to the experience. Everything about this place is 10/10. Amazing food, fast service, super kind staff. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Mochinut Donuts Mochinut is a fusion of traditional Japanese mochi and classic doughnuts. It looks like small wreath-shaped desserts with frosting on it. The dough is slightly dense with a mild taste. This is perfect for someone who doesn't like something too sweet. The Korean Hot Dog is delicious, I always get the ramen one. However, plan on a 10-15 minutes wait time while you order to make it. I've had bubble tea before, since it is pre-made there is no customization, it is too sweet for me. The Leesburg location is beautifully decorated. I love the flower wall as well as the sitting area with a lighted up sign. The staff is always kind and helpful. Parking is easy to find. read more

Mochinut has a fun concept and their mochi donuts are definitely enjoyable -- chewy, fresh, and with that signature texture you expect. That said, the flavor variety could really use a boost. Many of the options start to feel a bit repetitive, and after just a few bites, the overall taste can get a little tiring. One of the biggest things missing is the frosting-to-dough balance. There just isn't quite enough frosting or topping to complement the dense mochi base, which makes some of the donuts feel a little flat flavor-wise. A more generous coating or bolder flavors could go a long way. It would also be great to see more variety in food options overall -- maybe some savory snacks or a wider range of mochi donut types to keep things interesting. All in all, it's a fun treat spot with potential, but right now it feels more like a "once in a while" visit than a regular go-to. read more

The staff is nice, facility is clean, but why don't they ever seem to have mozzarella sticks? It is obviously a hot item then stock up on it. I won't be popping in any more. read more

Stopped by today during noon time to pick up some goodies. Store is very small so the line goes out the door. We ordered churros, blueberry, yuzu, strawberry, chocolate, original flavored mochi donuts. First of all let me just say that these are not your type of donuts that you get at Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. These are made out of MOCHI so the texture is going to come out chewy. These are different in their own unique texture. Best one for me is the churros. We also ordered the Cheeto mozzarella corndog, ramen corn dog and potatoes corn dog. These do not carry well so it's best that you eat it right there. The Cheeto mozzarella would have tasted better if it was hot and gooey. Ramen was the next best flavor, very sweet and salty. The ramen gives it a crunch factor. The potato corndog would have tasted great if it was eaten there as well. The bit of fries were soggy by the time we got home. These are a must get!! We also got their bubble tea, Thai tea and matcha tea. The fact that their website states that you can't adjust sugar level should be a red flag. The drinks were overly sweet, as my girlfriend puts it, they milked the whole damn cow, it literally was milky. The tapioca balls were on point, nice and chewy but damn son... I think the drink was what did me in for the throne that night. Overall great stuff, except for the drinks, stay away from that. read more

Fairly nice staff. Location is safe with plenty of parking. Pretty tasty mochi donuts with a variety of flavors! My favorites are the mango and the chocolate. the shop is really cute and clean. Limited options for bubble tea, but they might complement the donuts. Haven't tried them though. Definitely recommend. read more

Heard the buzz, checked it out on a Sunday afternoon. Bit of a line but they move it professionally and fairly quickly, no complaints. All the donuts are displayed and they all looked delicious! Bought a half dozen to try, so far, so incredible! What makes them different to me from "American donuts", is that they are almost light and fluffy, so a great texture. I'll be back soon to check out the whole Hot Dog thing they have going on. read more

I love them. If they opened before noon, I would go much more often for breakfast. It's probably great for my waistline that they're not. My favorite are the churro and now the Ube. $42 for a dozen of donuts?? You have got to be kidding me. In this economy?? are they good? Yes. Are they $42 good? Not even close.

I have to rank this place in the middle! I liked the donuts a good bit - despite not enjoying overly sweet treats, I found them delightful. I love the chewy & fluffy texture. It reminds me slightly of a french cruller. The flavors are great, I will be going back to try more. I did not enjoy the korean hotdogs. I found them to just be "meh"; the grease taste was strong, perhaps older grease. I really only got reminiscent flavors of the hotdog and the components were lacking salt. The cheddar wasn't present in taste. The sugar coating is subtle and an enjoyable relief to cut the grease taste for the first bite. Texture wise - they are great. The business doesn't allow you to call and place an order but for $2 you can order ahead of time online. The hotdogs take about 18 minutes to fry; which was surprising - since I was the only person there for the entirety of my visit. + Atmosphere is cute; fun flower wall and green sitting wall for the "selfie" generation. Donuts - 8 - expensive side $3.25 per - - - - - - - - - Ube - 6 Taro - 10 Churro - 10 Korean Hotdogs - 3 - $6.25 starting, add $1.25 if you get a combo cheese/dog. - - - - - - -- - - Texture - 10 Taste - 0 Greasy, only really identifiable taste unless you get the hot cheetoh's one. Canned Boba 0 - expensive side $6 + - -- -- - -- -- - -- A smaller than average serving & you can't adjust flavoring/sugars. read more

Mochinut - Looks so yummy - Desserts Near Me - Leesburg, Virginia

My husband and I discovered Mochinut in early May and have been coming here almost every weekend . We always look for the black sesame mochi donut flavor since we had that flavor only twice in the beginning and we don't see it on the weekends anymore. Perhaps it's not a popular flavor. Hoping more people get black sesame and becomes Mochinut's weekend flavor! Anyhow, Mochinut's mochi donuts are so chewy, soft (as how mochi should be), and the texture has been consistent as well as fresh every time we came here. We've tried different mochi places in the DMV area and Mochinut is by far the best mochi donut place out there! We love it so much that we got half a dozen today (I know it's not the weekend) for my husband's birthday~ We are lucky to be living pretty close from here to be able to come every weekend with our fur baby. I highly recommend you trying them out if you're in Leesburg! read more

This place is BETTER than the original Mochi Donut franchise!!! The icing flavor on top is full of flavor in each bite, with the right amount of sweetness, and there's much more mochi than the OG! This place is soooooo good!!! Give it a try, you won't go back to Mochi Donut!!! They also have a variety of the corn dogs as you see in Korean drama, and it's worth the drive to Leesburg! Icing to the cake is the very friendly staff they have there! Will definitely be returning soon! read more

I love donuts. I love mochi. Was very intrigued when read about this new shop having a soft opening. I also love trying new things and this definitely qualifies as something I've never tried. Took the whole family and split 3 mochinuts between us. Nice clean shop sort of near Chefscape in Leesburg Village. No outside signs but lots of people inside trying it out on a Wednesday evening. First choices chocolate and strawberry were out but that probably happens just like a donut and bagel shop. Tried plain (which is frosted), blueberry, and churro. Huge hit with wife who used to live in Japan. Favorite for most were the churro but I liked the plain. My favorite mochi is like a fire grilled version and it has a hint of that crusty flavor. Ok value for pack of 3. read more

Stopped in for just donuts to see what kind of place they were. It's very similar to crumble cookie where there are only a few flavors available each week. The donut is in fact fluffy and chewy as they explain on their website but it's not worth it. The corn dogs and motz sticks are appetizing but I wasn't going to spend $5 for one. The interior is very nice and modern with limited seating. Easy access in Village at Leesburg. read more

This place is so cute and the food is good too! Got 6 donuts, strawberry, churro, and glazed. All were really good but the strawberry and glazed were our favorites. I loved the corn dog! Haven't had one of these in a while. Just know though that this style of corn dog is different than your traditional one. It's a little sweeter and the crust is flakier, but I like it a lot. The brown sugar boba was awesome too! read more

From one recommendation from a very good friend, I've been going to Mochinut with my family and friends. I have a huge sweet tooth so when I first saw the Mochi donuts I've always wanted to try them and I must say they are delicious not because its just a donut, but also how the taste and their unique look differentiate from a regular donut you would see in grocery stores or other donut shops. I would get very excited when the flavors change weekly and I bring them to my family. They love it. A huge 10/10. Something I would check off on my bucket list because we've never seen these before but I'm glad it's in Leesburg :) I also enjoyed trying out the Korean corn dogs and my personal favorite would have to be the potato half Hot Dog and half mozzarella. Excellent service as well as with a beautiful environment for everyone whether it's their first time or not. Well done read more

I cant stop eating the hotdogs there. so good. you have to wait a short bit while they make it, as its fresh and hot! and the original is just this delicous crunchy, chewy, coating with sugar and sweet over hotdog meat. you have to try it to believe it. and dont put ketchup on this, you dont want to drown out the real flavor. it comes on a stick so you can walk and eat it. this is not an ordinary corn dog. a corn dog can do ketchup. this is gourmet. while you're in there, get some of the donuts. the look is not the only thing different and unique about them... one bite and your sold. light. sink your teeth in. chew. savor. yum. worth the calories. read more

After a mediocre first visit, I was happy to give Mochinut Leesburg a second shot. Somehow, this was even worse. $36 overall, and was informed they were "out" of pearls completely as well as the proper beverage cup, and the tea we had planned on purchasing. My son had looked forward to this all day. We ended up with overpriced flavorless room temp milk, and the price didn't reflect the lack of product, as we were informed they didn't have the ability to adjust cost. Poorly trained customer service made the experience even less acceptable. Highly disappointing location. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

I live in the area so thought I would go in and try! Clean and cute place!!! I got 3 for around $10 (not great value) They were not fresh which is maybe why they were not the best tasting but they were very doughy and soft. Would rather go down the street and get a donut from dunkin. read more

Came during soft opening. They had original, Yuzu, churro, choco pebble, strawberry, and they were out of blueberry. First time trying a mochinut and was expecting chewy and dense but to my surprise, fluffy and slightly chewy! Delicious and addicting! Choco pebble was my favorite, then original. Yuzu is like a citrus-like flavor but I thought it was too sweet. My friend and I being Asian agreed choco pebble was our favorite likely because it was the least sweet. They seem pretty busy and after ordering two donuts, it took maybe 10 mins to get my order. I assume the donuts were already cooked and all they'd have to do is put it in a bag/sleeve so not sure why it took so long. My donuts were room temp so it's not like they had to cook it to order. Perhaps because it was soft opening or I just expect it to be like other donut shops. read more

I've never heard of an establishment like this, we walked by after dinner and decided to check it out. Let me tell y'all, this place is a GAME CHANGER. The donut like creations far surpass the flavor of any donut I've ever had. They can be torn into ball pieces and eaten piece by piece, enjoying every heavenly bite. We ordered a half dozen, it didn't make it home from the car ride. I highly recommend Mochinut for all of you sweet lovers. Hopefully they see this review and give me a years supply or something like that, I'd be honored. 5/5, 100%, A+, Perfect. read more

The Donuts are great! They are super doughy and sweet. I would highly recommend the strawberry donut. However, the bubble tea is awful and should be skipped. Don't let the looks fool you into paying that much for it. It looks good, but it is way too sweet it ends up being an unpleasant taste. I'm not sure about the other flavors for the tea, but I surely won't be back to give them a try. I don't want to hate too much on them because they have some good qualities, I just think the menu could be expanded a bit, and the opportunity to customize my drink a little more could create a more enjoyable experience than just an overly sweet drink and nice picture. read more

The owner should really know the lack of effort put into this place by the employees. I hopped over real quick at 7:50 this evening to try and pick up a few donuts before closing and they had already turned out the lights and were waking out the front door. I asked if they closed at 8 and they said "uh we ran out of donuts". This is not the first time I've tried to come before closing to find them closed early. At times, we've waited there to place an order for 5 minutes before being acknowledged. Tonight was such a bummer because they clearly still had donuts and they clearly were just closing the store early. I doubt the owner appreciates the loss of business (and on numerous occasions). When they're open and actually serving their donuts, they're good. But the employees are so young and just don't care. Very poor business practice and I'm sure the owner would like to know this is happening at their store. read more
