Love Mochica because of its menu and serving size. There are better Peruvian restaurant out there I have to say. I just get half chicken with beans if I am nearby. Some other place they cook the rice with chicken stock so it has more flavor but rice here is kinda plain. Dipping sauce is kinda bland and watery too. That's why I said there are better Peruvian restaurant our there. Ceviche is ok. Noodles and other stir fry is good though, kinda oily but they are well seasoned. Maybe I will get those next time instead of chicken

Mac and cheese!

Food was delicious! I got the pollo saltado and it was great! Definitely recommend this spot if you're in Concord!

Bandeja paisa

Fairly priced and great tasting Peruvian(and now Colombian) food. My partner and I came right when they opened so they were still getting things prepped. I loved their chichamorrado drink. I ordered the 1/4 dark meat chicken with black beans and yuca frita(for additional cost) and my partner got the bandeja paisa. The chicharron was so crispy and the carne was smoky and flavorful on the bandeja paisa. The rotisserie chicken was smoky and moist and the sauces paired well with them. My only complaint is the black beans were too watery, I had to fish them out with a fork in their "soup." The staff was friendly and nice. The food came out in a timely manner. A good, quick, inexpensive place for lunch. I will have to try their ceviche in salsa amarilla and arroz chaufa next time.

The ambiance is lovely, it feels like a home not just a restaurant. You can taste the love in the authentic cuisine. I have gone back twice! since I was introduced to the place & I will continue to go back. The food is sooooo delicious!!! I had the chicken with mushroom sauce & the black beans every time! I like what I like. I will try something else eventually. Pechuga en Crema de Champiñones

The food was good. I had the chicken, edamame, and plantains. The chicken was juicy & flavorful & the sauce provided with it was tasty, the edamame was slightly undercooked but still edible & the plantains were cooked perfectly. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 due to the poor customer service. It took 7 minutes for someone to take my order & I was literally the only customer standing in line. Multiple employees walked by me without even acknowledging me standing at the register. For context there was a total of 6 customers in the entire restaurant (family of 4 dining in & me and my baby) so not busy at all. Let's be kind & courteous to one another, at the very least acknowledge your customers as human beings.

Wow what wonderful Peruvian flavor in chicken ala brasa! Got a whole chicken w 4 sides and a 2 L bottle of Incan drink for $18.69. It was all delivered in2 platters w cutup chicken ready to savour, tostadas, maduro, black beans and rice. Very filling. Use your fingers, nobody minds. This is not a fancy place but it is good authentic food. Come check it out and say muy sabrosa!

My team and I stopped in for a Peruvian (Keto friendly) lunch at Mochia. It was a Sunday and they were very short staffed. Everyone there was doing about three jobs just to keep the business flowing. The wait to order was about 10 minutes and the wait for the food to come to the table was about 20 mins. I must say, the food was very tasty and almost worth the wait. I'll give them another try durning the week when they're moving a little faster.

Mostrito Chaufa, with black beans instead of fries

Nice spot for lunch. They are quick and food portions are good. The staff is also friendly.

Chicken has fantastic flavor , you feel full and satisfied. I love the sauces over the chicken. Fresh ingredients and home cooking Peruvian style

My husband found this little hidden gem in Concord so we decided to try it out. They serve Peruvian fare in a cozy, relaxed setting. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonably priced, tasty items. We had rotisserie chicken, white rice, salad, black beans and sweet plantains. The food was good. My only complaint is that it's served in individual containers and small paper receptacles and not on ordinary platwhich makes it awkward to eat. Other than that I liked the casual atmosphere and the friendly workers. Recommended.

This is like Viva Chicken, but feels rightly priced and more mom and pop, even though there are a few chains.

After one meal here, we understood why. Calle Sol has a cool laid back vibe, great service, strong mojitos, and food that absolutely delivers. The ceviche is the star for a reason. Super fresh with bright flavor, and the crispy plantains alongside it were the perfect seafood fish combo. The skinny spicy margarita with the tajín rim and mojitos were excellent too. Our favorite was the Cuban rice. Rich flavor with this aioli on top that made everyone at the table keep stealing bites from each other. The vaca frita (beef) had great flavor with crispy edges done right, and the banana tres leches dessert was flat out dangerous. Easily enough for three people unless your family has zero self control. We don't really have Cuban food like this back home, so this felt like a treat. Safe to say our daughter picked a winner. We'll definitely be back next trip to Charlotte.

We love their Yuquitas de Queso as an appetizer. The yucca is very crispy, with delicious melted cheese inside. The green sauce they serve it with is exceptional, and we use it with our entrees, too. Sadly, this dish wasn't available on our last visit, so we switched it up and tried their black bean soup and half avocado stuffed with chicken. Both were delicious, so I'm glad we had an opportunity to branch out a bit. For our entrees, we typically get the Vaca Frita and Lechon Asado. Both meats are always tender, flavorful, and NOT overly salty (yay!). The Vaca Frita is particularly good, with crispy beef served on top of caramelized onions. The lime flavor is amazing in this dish. The rice and beans are perfect accompaniments to both dishes. Their portions are generous, and we usually take some of our meals home. We've always had great service at Calle Sol. We never have to wait long for our food, either. I like how the servers work to help each other out when busy! A note about parking--there are only a few spots directly in front of the restaurant, so you'll be lucky to get one of them. There's a public parking lot just down the street on Thomas (across from Dish), and street parking throughout Plaza Midwood. We often park on the street near Harris Teeter and Supperland, a quick walk to Calle Sol. Just give yourself extra time to find a parking spot if you arrive during busier dining hours. Well can't wait to return!

We arrived around 5:30-6:00 PM and were told the next available table wouldn't be until 8:30, so we ended up sitting at the bar instead. Luckily, the barstools were comfortable, so I didn't mind at all. The service was great--fast, attentive, and the bartenders were really friendly. The drinks were also really good. I had a lychee martini that was strong but delicious. We also tried a few of their shots--they had a unique, acquired taste. The only one I didn't enjoy was the Hierba shot because the aftertaste reminded me of licorice, which I'm not a fan of. But if you like licorice, you'd probably enjoy it. As for the food, everything was amazing. The yuca balls were a 10/10. We also had the "Pulpo Anticuchero", which was a Spanish style octopus that came with roasted potatoes that were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the arroz con mariscos (seafood rice), which included calamari, octopus, squid, and more. It was really good, and the portion size was huge--definitely enough to feed 3-4 people, so keep that in mind when ordering. The ambiance was really nice as well. The music was good and not too loud, which made it easy to enjoy the overall vibe. Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10.

If you want more of their traditional ceviches they have that as well. Pair the tiratado with their tostones - *chefs kiss We did venture and try the New York strip - it was fine, I didn't think the steak had enough time to rest so it's lost the sear it probably had when it got to our table. One thing that pleasantly surprised us was how reasonable the prices were, even for dishes like steak. It made it easy for everyone in our group to try a variety of items without feeling like we were overspending. The restaurant itself has a charming Peruvian-inspired decor that adds to the atmosphere and gives it a unique, welcoming vibe. Although we were the only customers during the two and a half hours we were there on a Thursday night, it didn't negatively impact our experience at all. If anything, it made for a relaxed and unhurried evening. That said, it does make me wonder if the shopping plaza location might be limiting their visibility, because the restaurant definitely deserves more attention. The service was great--our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout the evening. As a nice touch, one of our friends received a complimentary birthday dessert complete with a candle, which made the night feel extra special. Overall, I'd recommend Lola to anyone looking for flavorful food and cocktails, and a cozy dining experience.
