After going to the Jurassic Quest experience we found this restaurant on YELP. Located in a large strip mall it has pictures of some of their more traditional dishes on the front windows. There is ample booth and table seating in a warm environment. There wasn't much artwork or colorful displays like most Latino restaurants. You can order at the counter or at your table. We were seated quickly with no wait. Waitress seemed a little short at the beginning but had a much better attitude towards the end. We started off with a tropical Maracuya drink and a Peruvian stable the Chicha Morada. Both were great the chicha was a different type of taste, not fruity or tart. I liked it, it is made from purple corn, apples, pineapple, cinnamon and star anise. My wife got a typical Colombian dish called "Bandeja Paise". This dish is very filling as it has steak, sausage, pork rind, rice, avocado, sweet plantain, arepa, and a fried egg on top! Everything on it was cooked to perfection! I got the Chicken in mushroom sauce, comes with salad, white rice and sweet plantains. This would have been a perfect dish were it not for the fact that there was hardly any mushrooms in the dish. Love Mochica because of its menu and serving size. There are better Peruvian restaurant out there I have to say. I just get half chicken with beans if I am nearby. Some other place they cook the rice with chicken stock so it has more flavor but rice here is kinda plain. Dipping sauce is kinda bland and watery too. That's why I said there are better Peruvian restaurant our there. Ceviche is ok. Noodles and other stir fry is good though, kinda oily but they are well seasoned. Fairly priced and great tasting Peruvian(and now Colombian) food. My partner and I came right when they opened so they were still getting things prepped. I loved their chichamorrado drink. I ordered the 1/4 dark meat chicken with black beans and yuca frita(for additional cost) and my partner got the bandeja paisa. The chicharron was so crispy and the carne was smoky and flavorful on the bandeja paisa. The rotisserie chicken was smoky and moist and the sauces paired well with them. My only complaint is the black beans were too watery, I had to fish them out with a fork in their "soup." The staff was friendly and nice. The food came out in a timely manner. The WORSE Peruvian food I have EVER eaten. The 2 rotisserie chicken was NOT cooked and presented from the rotisserie oven. It was old cooked, cut up and stored. Nothing juicy and moist about it. The 2 ceviche were made with excessive MGS and salt as to eliminate the fact that they used little lemon. I swear my family and I were in disgust and refused to eat the rest. I was charge almost $100 and was robbed from a good cuisine experience. My husband is Peruvian and I am a very good Peruvian cook. My family love going to restaurants and enjoy the experience of other Latin cultural cuisine. The only reason I leave this scathing review is because I have been left feeling gutted and hated. My team and I stopped in for a Peruvian (Keto friendly) lunch at Mochia. It was a Sunday and they were very short staffed. Everyone there was doing about three jobs just to keep the business flowing. The waitress was hostile and wouldn't wait on me then I went up to the counter to order and eat, but she gave it to me as a to-go meal. The chicken was flavorless. They gave me three fries. The waitress shoved me while I was in line, and it was deliberate because she glared fiercely at me. They treated me like dirt. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IF YOU ARE Caucasian. It is an irrefutable fact. My husband found this little hidden gem in Concord so we decided to try it out. They serve Peruvian fare in a cozy, relaxed setting. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonably priced, tasty items. We had rotisserie chicken, white rice, salad, black beans and sweet plantains. The food was good. I do tip when I eat out but the person pulling my order up to be paid out since I called in was so mad for some reason, 1st I thought it was because I didn't tip but that probably just made her more pissed when the whole reason I didn't tip was because of her. First impression in person was a little confusing, we specifically chose this restaurant over others in the area because it looked the most authentic. The chicken was re-heated, and it surprised us that the sides came in styrofoam cups. The most upsetting part was that there were no traditional Peruvian sauces to go with the meal other than mustard. I am all about supporting small businesses. I was very excited when this restaurant opened. However, the last few experiences have been extremely disappointing. Once I placed a catering order in advance. I was in contact directly with the manager who received the order as well as our pickup time. When we arrived at the agreed upon time, our order had not even been started. In fact, the in-store workers were not even aware of our order. There were no apologies or discounts for our trouble. We have gone other times and the wait time has been excruciatingly long. However today may have been the final nail in the coffin. We went in to place a to-go order and used a coupon. Not only did they not apply the full amount of the coupon, but they also failed to include any sauce that we had requested. While the food is good, the service is unfortunately unreliable. Went in with my partner-in-dine and his mom for lunch on a Sunday. I got the Monstruo Chaufa which is a "monster" plate of Chinese-inspired Peruvian fried rice with 1/4 dark chicken meat and fries. The chicken was juicy, tender and delicious. The fried rice was just ok. The rice was a little bit too dry for me. My partner-in-dine opted for the Lomo Soltado. He said the beef was overly salty. The dish wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. My mother-in-law liked her order of chicken too. This was our first visit and the verdict so far is to go for the rotisserie chicken. We decided to try this place out after reading the reviews. It is in a convenient location to get in and out of and has plenty of parking. I had never officially tried Peruvian food but was excited to see what it was all about. When we arrived a few customers were leaving and we had the place to ourselves. They now have divided plates for their food. They have self-service fountain drinks and plastic cups. It didn't take very long to get our food. By this time three more tables had arrived and ordered. I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of white rice and a side of black beans. My wife ordered the pulled rotisserie chicken wrap(it was huge) with a side of fries. While the fries were just average everything else was VERY good. The place appeared clean and you could see the kitchen from the counter and it appeared clean. This is like Viva Chicken, but feels rightly priced and more mom and pop, even though there are a few chains.

The pollo a la brasa was amazing, sadly I cannot say the same thing of the staff. Our server was glued to her personal phone while taking our order, and kept forgetting to bring us utensils. We asked the chicken to be cut in eights but since she was on her phone, didn't pay attention and brought it in fourths. Not a big deal but it is annoying when you ask for something and aren't being heard. We probably would go back but just for take out pollo a la brasa and not to dine in. read more
