I came here after finding "Bober Tea & Coffee" on google maps and checking the business' website. Turns out they changed names at the beginning of this year. The one employee was still wearing an apron that said Bober Tea. Their website (the Bober Tea website) showed a pandan drink that I wanted to try, but they no longer carry it. I wound up ordering a drink with taro foam that the self-serve kiosk said would come with fruity pebbles. When I asked the staff if I could get it without fruity pebbles, he replied that they stopped making the drink that way months ago. The interior had lots of empty space and not much seating available. There was a lip-shaped sofa that looked stained and entirely unhygienic, along with some swings that didn't seem very safely installed and were put up to prevent their use anyway. I will say this right up front, the strawberry shortcake was very good. The taro was also good and reminded me of a frosted sugar cookie. Unfortunately the other four were fairly nondescript, not tasting much like anything special except the beignet. This is a low review because these are good but not amazing, and for the price ($2.50 each? for real ....) you could find something much more satisfying. The real negatives for me are the store hours. It took me four visits to actually get a donut to even try. One trip was totally on me though. Two visits came in the evening after dinner hoping for a sweet treat. Donuts sold out. I was told this happens every day. So...make more inventory maybe? Just a thought. The third trip I thought I'd hit the place early on a Saturday to preempt the rush. I didn't check store hours though so this is all on me. They open at 9:00. Mochi Dough has a beautiful and dreamy ambiance with pink rose decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale. The mochi donuts are tasty, though I feel they're a bit overpriced for what you get. They also serve boba drinks, but I wouldn't recommend them. I ordered a matcha boba, and it tasted like powder--definitely not worth it. While I'd come back for the donuts and the vibe, I'll be skipping the tea next time. Or maybe try a different tea. Really cool atmosphere, the Mochi's were packaged so beautifully! I would consider this as a gift to give someone as a Thank you, or thinking of you. The mochi donuts are delicious. My favorites so far are the strawberry shortcake and taro. The boba is also delicious and made fresh, I could actually taste the tea in my drink. I love the fun whimsical decor. There is plenty of seating throughout the small building but it was so busy that we didn't get the opportunity to dine in. The service was friendly and helpful. There were so many options to consider and we never felt rushed by the staff. This will be a great place to grab dessert with friends once business settles down a little. Pretty store front! The floating angel swing and pink flowers definitely catches your attention. 2 kiosks where you place your order is very easy to use. Plenty of boba drinks to choose from and I liked the fact you can customize your drink to your liking. The MOCHI??? (Mochi is a sweet, chewy rice dough) Delish! Crispy on the outside and soft chewy on the inside. So nice to have something "new" here in town. Customer service was fast and helpful. Since they are new I would suggest a handout menu to customers waiting in line...it may help the line go faster. First off, yes - the donuts are awesome. Ok, so in full review, I'm a little torn, the donuts are really good but they feel super expensive. I'm not actually sure if they actually are more expensive than the other donut shops, but being forced into buying set amounts it feels expensive. So yeah, I'm gunna go with they're expensive. I got a three pack to try the place out since you can't buy a single donut (you can't buy a cup of black coffee either, the times they are a changing) so I got a plain one, a s'mores, and a .... I forget the last one a cookies and crème? Maybe? I can't remember. But the s'mores one is just the best damn donut I've had in recent memory- they're soft and the outsides is just the right golden color - they're really really good. Super-cute and quirky decor. Looks like the bedroom of a 14 year old budding-romantic teen girl exploded. Pink flowers on all the walls and ceiling, angel wing swing, loveseat that looks like pink lips, unicorn, wood board swings, white neon tube signs - pretty out there, but it all works. An assault on your visual cortex the moment you walk in. There are only two kiosks for ordering, and no ordering at the counter, so it tends to create a huge bottleneck of people waiting to order at a kiosk that blocks the door pretty quickly, especially as everyone is trying this place out. They really need another 1 or 2 kiosks and need to either move all 4 to the wall away from the door by the unicorn, or leave the 2 where they are and add two more on the opposite wall by the unicorn. In Japanese, mouichido means "once again" or "more," so the name of this Japanese donut and boba tea chain, Mochi Dough, is a clever play on words that sounds like mouichido when you say the words, suggesting you want more of what they sell. Again, cute. If you've had a county fair funnel cake, you've had something like the texture of these donuts. They are shaped like a bunch of small donut holes in a ring and made to pull apart. The flavored ones are better than the frosted ones, IMO. They change the flavors weekly, so you have a reason to come back and try what's up for the new week. They're a little on the expensive side with a 6 pack sampler running $15, but I'd certainly have more of these than the doughy dreck they're slinging over at Crumbl. Service was relatively quick, even though they were buried with customers. About 10 minutes for 6 donuts and a milk tea. The downsides were: the lack of ordering kiosks and its resultant bottleneck, dirty counters and tables with crumbs, napkins, etc on them (all hands on deck were making and serving, no one was cleaning up after customers left), and a VERY overflowing trash can by the door that was MUCH TOO SMALL for the boxes of donuts they were sending out. People ate at the tables and discarded their fairly large empty boxes in the garbage can that was, yes, cute, but WAY TOO SMALL for the job it was given. So, one star off for those three things, but hopefully those are operational issues that will be smoothed out. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. One of the better recent additions to the generally stale Redding food scene. read more

I absolutely love this place! The employees are very friendly and everything is clean. Im just sad because of the fact they got rid of the black sesame flavor. There used to be a black sesame smoothie and black sesame donut. The black sesame donut tastes like a fried sesame ball. It was the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. I long for that donut. I was told it was taken off the menu for good. I found another mochidough in Los Angeles and they still have the black sesame flavor. It's just this location for some reason. So to order, you would go to one of two kiosks and put your order in (it's also where you would order your boba) and select how many donuts you'd like. Then you wait for them to call your name, and you go up and pick the flavors you'd like. I'm not sure what I just experienced, but I guess I now know the rules at mochi, here are some of them. Rule number one you can order drinks at the kiosk placed inconveniently in the same area as the line as to cause confusion however, you cannot order donuts at the kiosk When ordering donuts you may not order one donut individually unless you are ordering a drink to go with that donut if you want to get the pink doughnut with the animal cracker cookie on it, you have to order a minimum of six donuts where you are then allowed to have one of the pink donuts if you order 12 you are allowed to have two of the pink donuts. What if my 3 kids all want the pink donut. So I would have to order 18 donuts to get three pink donuts sounds reasonable...! The experience was awkward at best. read more
