Hole in the Wall Sushi Food We ordered the crab salad and box 3 and 4. All solid. Nothing we had was the best we have ever had but it was all enjoyable. Service Was a little slow to bring the drinks but other than that very friendly and helpful. They gave my 4 year old a small bowl of soup which was appreciated. Ambiance Nice place to sit down. Decor is nothing special. Overall We found it walking by. Doesn't look like much from the street. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I was here we would consider coming back. If you go I'm sure you will enjoy it.

This has been our go to sushi place for years. It's a little pricey but DoorDash will deliver to us up in Olney so it's worth it! We usually get miso soup, a mix of rolls and Nigiri. We always enjoy it. We have tried many other sushi places but always come back to this one. Our orders don't normally include soy sauce or chopsticks so make sure you have some at home!

Amazing sushi! My wife and I first ordered from here for New Years Eve to ring in 2021 as it was the only year we had no friends due to the severity of the pandemic and lack of vaccines. We decided to order from here again on Wednesday night to celebrate my wife's two year work anniversary and me graduating from physical therapy on the same day. We ordered a Vegetable Tempura Udon as well as the following rolls: Dynamite, Futomaki, Tarter, Fantasy, Mobydick, Crispy Spicy Tuna, Sweet Potato, Green, and Philadelphia. The rolls were very wide and filling to the point we had leftovers. I think the sushi chef may have been different and made it Korean style rather than the traditional Japanese we remember before, but the food was still delicious and portions were much larger. The prices are also reasonable, especially for the portions. We look forward to ordering from here again and dining here eventually in person.

This place is hidden away in the alley behind dunkin right across from the Wheaton metro. But it's a hidden gem. My friend had ordered delivery from here before but this was the first time I've been in. Well it definitely won't be the last. I got a sushi combo and a specialty roll and a bottled water (they don't have a fountain) for under 40. The quality and portion size of the nigiri and rolls is generous and everything tasted great. I'll definitely be back when I want sushi now that hinode closed this is probably my new go to.

I wish I had discovered this sushi spot earlier!!! The salmon hand rolls and spicy tuna rolls were freaking amazing and so is their salmon roe!!! Honestly all you need is the salmon hand roll!!! It's that great!!!

It's one of the few sushi places in Wheaton so naturally it is one of the better places for this area but this is one of the cases where I would be willing drive out to Rockville instead. The ratio of fish to rice is low. I got the cali roll, eel, and spicy tuna combo with miso soup which was $15 lunch special. The quality is average, and generally speaking if you have a craving and want to stay local, this place will hit 5/5 for that. But in comparison to the rest of the county?, it's average and quite pricy for the quality and ratio. Customer service was solid 5/5 tho.

The sushi here is amazing! My favorite is the Philly rolls. This is my 3rd time here and it has not disappointed me yet. Ive try a combination of different rolls and all have been good. Its amazing how full you can get off of sushi. The take a lot of love and care into each hand crafted roll. This is not your grocery store, gas station, or all you can eat buffet sushi. The first time i was scared to be adventurous so i got the typical California rolls. But then i tasted my friends and it was amazing. So now i try different ones when i come in. The only draw back is parking...

In terms of quality, this place is literally the next best thing to a Japanese steakhouse/sushi spot. Fresh sushi, always, and very reasonable prices.

We were greeted by their friendly staff and ordered a bunch of food, because we wanted it all! You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. We started with chicken egg rolls. One order included 2 egg rolls. I loved that they were not greasy and that they were lightly fried. Inside was ground chicken. Very tasty comfort food for a cold night. Next we had sushi rolls. We thoroughly enjoyed the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls. They were perfect in every way Finally, we had the steak and shrimp hibachi platters, mine with teriyaki sauce and noodles and my husband's with rice. Both came with cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. The portions are good-sized. We could only eat half and took the rest home for dinner the next night. Scrumptious! I highly recommend Hibachi Express. I think that the customer service was excellent and the chef had charisma, personality, and should do stand up, he was a pleasure and a joy such a guy with rizz. My issue was the food itself as the rice was amazing but did not age well being taken back home for take out, and the chicken and salmon were not as flavorful as a homemade version I would had cooked so there was the blandness. I ended up having digestive issues and got sick for a day or two after eating from here which was disappointing, because the vibe is awesome in this spot and the positive energy is contagious. I felt so relaxed and joyous here. I think the food can be cooked better even though they are generous with excellent portion sizes. I think it is a strong contender for one of the best restaurants in the region if they step the food preparation up. I also did not like this sauce they provided, but it does have better customer service than the typical DMV spots which tend to struggle with the customer service, so they get an A with that making you feel welcomed and respected and not strictly transactional experience, very warm, nice, attentive, diligent, and hard working staff, so they have the bones here, so once they step up the actual food prep and quality then they will be 4 to 5 stars easily. That is all I got!

But since it was just me, I opted for seating at the bar. There are 2 bars at this location--one at the drink bar and one at the sushi bar. The drinks are VERY good, and the bartenders are very receptive to your orders and all. Ambiance was good--not too dark, just right. Very chic. I ordered a LOT. Several pieces of sushi, chicken karage (which I saw people post pics of, and that's what convinced me to check it out.), Japanese curry, and some other sashimi and little burgers. They were all fantastic! The chicken karage was the big hit--so delicious you can taste it thru the pictures. The curry wasn't spicy at all, but seeing as it's Japanese style, it's more on the savory and tasty side, not on the spicy side. Overall very delicious. The wagyu sashimi was VERY long (that's what she said), so eating one piece whole isn't recommended. Chew it, then swallow. The mini burgers were everything you love about Japanese takes on purpose burgers. Done perfectly, with that amazing bbq grill taste, too. The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing. My only gripe is that their ordering system is odd; you can only order so many pieces of food per order number. There are order limits, but it's setup such that the kitchen doesn't get overwhelmed. That being said, your orders usually come out pretty quickly. I highly recommend this place!

The food is made fresh. I know they are known for their souffle pancakes and desserts, but the dinner menu is also delicious. I have had the katsu sandwich and the curry. The sandwich was moist, hot, and had a great texture and flavor. The sauce they use also compliments the meat. The curry is a classic curry. The souffle pancakes are such a treat!! I have had the ube and strawberry flavor. I recommend the strawberry. The ube is good, but the icing on it can get a little overwhelming due to the sheer amount you get and I ended up scraping half of it off. Due to the way they are made to maintain the size and texture, they do have an eggier taste than normal pancakes. I personally enjoy it, but just fair warning if you are particularly sensitive to the taste of eggs. But, they do advertise it as a souffle pancake, so the egg taste is not surprising! This place is always busy and everything is made fresh. It is not fast food! Be prepared for around a 20-minute wait. There is an anime store to browse in the front, but that would be a little hard to do while waiting for your food because securing a seat is a bit of a rat race if you are alone. If you come in a group, have somebody secure a seat first.
