Wrong adhesive used. Poor quality repairs
Rudy M.

A couple weeks ago in the month of February, and after calling a few cell stores around town, I went to iPhone repair Lancaster/Mobilelink Communications to repair my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G with a broken screen, because they were the only store in town that had the part needed for the repair and could have it done before I left town for vacation. After when I received the phone back from repair, I noticed a tiny bit of yellow glue seeping out from the side of the phone, at the time and thought nothing of it, because it was not too noticeable, paid the 420.00+ for the repairs and took the phone. After almost a month later I noticed my side button stopped working, and I had to keep the phone fully charged to prevent it from shutting down, because when it did, I had a very hard time to turn it on. So, when I came back to iPhone repair Lancaster/Mobilelink Communications, the taller gentlemen of the two that works there said, we don't touch the side button and pulled out another part that was used to replace my part and said again see we do not touch the side button, but he did say that to repair the side button it will cost me another 120.00, of course I declined that option and left. I finally went to D and D Wireless in Lancaster near the Boulevard, had them checked the button and he discovered that they used the wrong kind of adhesive for cell phone repairs and some of the glue seeped down to the circuit connectors where side button is as you can see in the picture below. David from D and D Wireless corrected the errors made by iPhone repair Lancaster/Mobilelink Communications by cleaning the connectors and he also replaced the back cover which was damaged due to the wrong adhesive used all for free, and I am a very happy new customer. I will never return to iPhone repair Lancaster/Mobilelink Communications they are crooks, and I will be recommending my co-workers, friends, and family to D and D Wireless for their cell phone repair needs.

IPAD. Was brought in brand new, just needed a new screen.
Sam M.

I brought in a brand new iPad for a screen replacement. The first time the screen was not installed properly so we brought it back. The second time the screen was sealed very poorly!! I can't believe I received it back this way. I sent a message to management and they couldn't even respond to my complaint. OH and they misplaced my iPad upon arrival, they had no idea where it was at....

They took forever and charged me for most of the repair cost even though they couldn't repair my device.

Mind you the back is not even connected to the phone. Why would you order me a phone then start taking it apart before it gets to me. I'm not understanding why it takes 5 weeks for a laptop. He doesn't call you to update you weeks go by then he says he just learned something he could of called and said. I have asked for my 165 dollars back and my laptop I will go to Walmart or something. Update!!! I left a review a few days went by I went to check on my laptop he never fixed it because he was upset about my review which is my right. And said he left a message which is a lie. But overall he had my laptop for 6 weeks didn't do anything and never even called to leave an update or say he wasn't going to fix it. The laptop is in worse condition. AV Computer Repair - A sliced Apple. :-(

Raul made time for my hard drive upgrade right away. He offered fast turnaround, with the…read morereplacement SSD installed and my iMac ready for pickup in a single day. Unfortunately, in the course of opening up the iMac --which requires removing the glass with a pry tool -- the Apple was nearly sliced (see photo). I won't lie: I was mortified by the damage but also felt bad for Raul since clearly this is not easy news to break to a first-time customer. (I found AV Computer Repair on Yelp.) However, upon plugging in the computer the next day I found that the microphone was not working. According to Google, this is a possible "complication" of upgrades to an iMac. Upon taking the computer back to Raul, it was discovered that the kit I provided to Raul for the original work included display adhesive that wasn't pre-cut for the microphone on the 2017 iMac. (Most iMacs have the mic located near the iSight camera at the top, whereas this model and a handful of others locate it at the bottom of the display.) So it would appear to be that the company I bought the kit from sent the wrong adhesive and Raul didn't catch that it ran over top the mic. I was terribly nervous to take the iMac back for the mic repair because prying off the display on iMacs that use adhesive strips is risky. (Pry too hard and the glass will crack, at a cost of ~$500 cost to replace a 5K Retina display.) Raul took his time to open up the iMac and to remove the old adhesive to ensure cohesion (another risk is failure to prep the surface for new adhesive strips can mean the display falling off and breaking at a later date since the only thing holding it is tape). In the past I have done my own upgrades on Macs that are easier to get into (some are easier to work on because the glass is held on by magnetic clips, not adhesive). But in this case, neither myself nor my spouse wanted to chance this type of work. (My spouse actually works in IT but we needed someone who is comfortable repairing broken phones or tablets, in the knowledge that opening this iMac up would be more akin to getting into a phone or a tablet than your average desktop computer.) Although I was initially unhappy with the cosmetic damage and then the discovery that my mic didn't work, I count my lucky stars that everything is back together and there is no screen damage (main fear going into this job). Of all the possible accidents that could have occurred with the 2x task of opening this 2017 iMac up, cosmetic damage was by far not the worst outcome. In closing, I appreciate that Raul stuck with this and made things right. As a result, I am updating my review from two stars to four.
