We live in an historic home in downtown Frederick and have several neighbors who have used this company. If I could select 10 stars I would be as happy as I was with Peekskill Electric's work! I am amazed there are only a couple Yelp reviews for this business. I even asked about why there were not more Yelp reviews at our first interview & Kenny the owner said he gets most work from Another's List though he's booked many jobs over the last few years from Yelp referrals so it must be a good start for people searching for help. I wanted to add another post to Yelp because this is where I found the business. So, here goes. I interviewed 5 companies for our job. This is why Peekskill got the work: 1. They arrive on time, every time. This is a HUGELY UNIQUE experience for us! 2. They call you back. Not just same day but for me it was the same hour! 3. They are as interested in each new project as the homeowner. 4. Kenny has many years of experience as an independent electrician and he does the work himself with really nice young people apprenticing. I like knowing the person I talk to is the person I'll work with on the project. 5. For me, his experience and recognition of what it takes to work on an old building clinched the deal. Now the work is done, I can't say enough positive things about the experience, but here are a few impressions: 6. Prices were competitive with other contractors. Response time BY FAR exceeded others. I had a contract the day after our evening interview (but I am still waiting to here from one of the other 5 companies!!) 7. Kenny is a genuine, nice, professional person. He has really good communication skills and is easy to work with. That's a plus for weekend warriors and DIY projects. He is a happy person who genuinely likes working with people and helping them see their project come to life. 8. I got the impression the city inspectors really like his work. You won't be stuck trying to coordinate repeat work or re-inspection visits. We have a new favorite electrician: Peekskill Electric!!

I had been to two other shops here in Hagerstown and was quoted sky-high prices for the labor and the fabric. At one of this places they said you could provide your own fabric but would charge $15 per yard for handling. When I walked in to Westview I was greeted by Ralph, he was very honest and open with us. He allowed us to look at his work and his entire shop. He has been in the business for over 40 years and it definitely shows. He also has lots of fabrics to choose and price at $3 per yard! Finding this shop was a blessing, I ended up paying 1/3 of what the other shops quoted me. If you want honest, reliable, and quality work I wholeheartedly recommend their shop.

On a Sunday evening, a huge clog backed up the drain for both of my 2nd Floor bathrooms and the water ran down into my 1st Floor ceiling. I got the water turned off and called the plumber and Kevin at Hamilton's Unlimited. Since I also have a Powder Room on the 1st Floor, I told them both it can wait until Monday morning. Early the next morning the plumber called to say they were running ahead of schedule and asked if they move me up. Of course, I told them yes. By the time the plumbers got here (early), Hamilton's Unlimited had already removed all of the wet ceiling, disinfected the framing, set up fans and a dehumidifier, and hauled away the debris. As a bonus, having the ceiling open like that helped the plumbers determine where the clog was which saved me even more time and money. That afternoon, after everyone had left, I was sure I'd be dealing with this for a week or more. However, over the next 48-hours, Hamilton's Unlimited kept in contact with me, even stopping by, to ensure that the drying process was progressing to their liking. By Thursday afternoon - less than four days after the leak - they had installed all new drywall, sanded, and fresh paint on the entire ceiling and one wall. Done. Like it never even happened - only quicker and less painless.

We…read morehad two service calls from Long Electric, the first was a scheduled day-long visit with two excellent electricians who chased down various circuits in our new-old house (moved in a 2 months earlier). They identified several pre-existing issues and rectified several concerns we had with the work a previous owner had performed. All good now! The second visit was an emergency call that resulted from another contractor inadvertently damaging our well power line. Jason Long (the owner) and Jeff T. came out first thing this morning and made it all right again. I find people in Frederick to generally be friendly and professional, but these gentlemen represent the best this area has to offer in neighborliness, professionalism and going beyond the norm to set things right. This is a small independent company that is simply excellent in their service and professionalism. Thank you again, we appreciate your commitment!

Great electricians; just make sure the company commits to your timeline up front…read more Luis and Jeff, the two Master electricians on our kitchen renovation, were excellent, professional, personable, and genuinely skilled. Whenever they and their helpers were on site, the work was first-rate, and I'd welcome either of them back without hesitation. My one real reservation is staffing. We gave the company our strict timeline a full six months in advance, but for the first four months the crew was here only sporadically; which delayed our project and pushed our other contractors behind schedule too. The last three weeks they were here almost every day and accomplished a tremendous amount, which honestly just made me wish that commitment had been there from day one. For anyone comparing bids, the rates run a little higher than some but the quality of the work backs it up. If the company dedicates its people to your job from the start, you'll be in great hands. The talent is clearly there, and we're happy with the finished result.
