I am so thrilled to be updating this review!…read more Following my initial review, I was contacted by the office manager, Justina, a truly kind person who urged me to come in and have Dr. Rydzik take a look at the scar. I was wary of returning, as, in my experience, I've found that accountability is rare to come by in medical practices (or in the world at large today!). But I can honestly say I am so glad to have been wrong in this instance. Dr. Rydzik acknowledged that an error had been made and told me that the medical assistant who had removed my stitches was receiving further training. She examined my arm and confirmed a keloid had formed due to the stitches being removed too early and she and her medical team provided me with a complimentary laser treatment to reduce the appearance of the scar, in addition to noting that, if future treatments for this scar are needed, those treatments would be complimentary as well. They were warm, reassuring, and really put me at ease. Thank you, Dr. Rydzik, Justina, and Bilkey (I'm so sorry if I'm misspelling your name) and a big thank you as well to the lovely woman who performed the laser on my arm today (so sorry, I'm forgetting your name!). I will continue to return as a patient for my dermatological needs as well as for my aesthetic needs and I will certainly recommend this office to friends, knowing that this is the kind of place where--should a mishap occur, as it can anywhere--the staff genuinely care to make it right.

The esthetician appeared to be experienced, but had bossy and almost condescending attitude. It was weird and uncomfortable. And so was the facial. IMHO the difference between facial massage and rubbing someone's cheeks in a hurry is not only in length of the procedure, not only in what areas of the face were worked on. There should be an intent to relax the face, full hand contact and massage to tone the muscles, maybe extractions, or hydration, a mask to address unique needs of person's skin. RARE but very good estheticians used to massage decolte and hands as a part of facial as well. But this one was weird. She cleaned my face in a hurry, rubbed my cheeks and neck, and then dumped something on my face and spread it on with a brush. That potion was left on my face for few min and was wiped off with a wet towel IN A HURRY as if she did not want to touch my face!!!! That was it !!! I was offered to purchase some other services later, and that was the end of my facial!!! I'd say 15 min start to finish. I forgot I had a dermatology appt the very next day and when I saw my dermatologist about a spot on my nose she froze off a couple of other moles she saw and told me I needed to avoid the sun especially because of the spot on my nose that she wants to do a biopsy On in Sept. I was shocked when she told me this. My first thought was "oh no just got a membership yesterday at the tanning salon." Anyways I went in to Palm beach tan on the 29th to get a refund, and explained everything to the manager she reassured me and filled out paperwork. I also asked for a refund on the tan lotion I never used and I handed that to her. According to Palm beach tan refund agreement it says " New members can request a refund within 30 days of purchase". Tanning lotion policy says "Return Window: Eligible skin care and tanning lotions must be returned within 7 days of the original purchase date". When she was done filling out the paperwork for my refund, the manager had told me that " IF " they decide to give me a refund it could take up to 14 days . I said what do you mean "IF"? seriously? I went home and I started feeling uneasy because I didn't have a receipt saying that I returned the lotion. I didn't have an email saying that I canceled the membership so I called the store a couple of times I feel like the manager was irritated with me. I asked her again about my refund and about my lotion and she told me I could not get a refund for the lotion only in store credit. she mentioned that she told me this the first time I came in and asked for the refund, but I do not recall her saying this I would not have handed her my lotion. She said, "Your lotion is in the back with your name on it if I wanted to come pick it up." I did everything in a timely manner exactly how they told me in their policy. I went to a manager by day 3 because she was not available the 2nd day. Which means I could've got a refund for the lotion I never used like it says in their terms and agreement. And I still haven't gone back to the store to pick it up yet. It's very frustrating when nobody reaches out to contact you to let you know what's going on and you have to keep checking your bank account to see if you've been refunded. So now I'm leaving this review. I hate being taken advantage of and I'm not the type of person to let this go. Hopefully this will get resolved and I'll be able to edit and update. Update regarding employee comment: I already sent an email to the corporate office. And the manager supposedly sent a refund form to her bosses On July 29th. Come August 10 it will be 14 days. It's kind of funny how you cant see the one star reviews unless you download the yelp app but you definitely can read anything over four stars. The fact that it will take up to five days to reach out to me is just ridiculous. The fact that it's taking so long to get my refund is absolutely ridiculous. I see that Palm beach tan has a lot of one star reviews. that's speaks volumes and shows that Palm Beach Tan is just in it for the money and doesn't care about their customers. I let the associate know that I was moved to a different promotion and was told I didn't have to pay to the following month. Well I was charged anyway (I let them know on the day (Feb 28th) when I signed up for new promotion that my debt card was being replaced and it would take 5-7 business days before I could update it) Didn't think much cause my understanding was my payment wouldn't be due till April 1st. Well I was wrong. I called to let them know the situation and explained myself just to be told it was a misunderstanding and they could only waive $10. I called back and spoke with Layna, explained the situation again, she totally understood and tried everything in her power to see if they would waive the cost. She was so sweet and polite and mostly professional and because of her they are implementing that the associate explain the new promotions correctly so this doesn't happen again. I truly wanted to cancel my membership but after speaking with Layna I have decided to give them another chance. Thank you so much Layna for all your help! (Found out Layna works at the Vancouver location she was just in Hillsboro helping out) I sure wish I lived closer to Vancouver. Thanks again Layna for trying your hardest!
