I hadn't been to a tanning salon since high school and based on my own past experiences didn't have very high expectations for any tanning place. However, I was overall really pleasantly surprised. Amanda set up my account quickly, explained the mystic tanning process thoroughly, and was happy to answer my questions. She even asked me how it went afterwards- overall a super nice girl. This alone will bring me back to a business, so in the future I will go here if ever I'm feeling particularly pale. The contraption itself is huge and loud, but the final product was an even tan that lasted about a week (fine by me, and about what I expected). Trying to hold your breath while it was spraying I found was impossible, and I tried to wait until the mist reached my lower legs to breathe in, but I still sucked in some fumes. She has a single room oasis in a busy little hallway. The room is spacious, inviting, and surprisingly quiet for all the bustle outside. When I got there I was a little unsure if I should knock or not since she had a sign on the door that she was doing a treatment. I tentatively knocked and she popped out to greet me. Luckily I didn't interrupt her with a client, as she was just preparing for my appointment. There's a waiting area at the end of the hall, and if you come in and her door says she's busy, you can plop down and shoot her a text to let her know you've arrived. Then you don't have to worry about bugging other clients. I came in for a wax and she was super professional. Everything was clean and I was totally comfortable. Janette is really sensitive to making sure you have everything you need and she offered tea or water. It's the little things! I will definitely be coming back here for more waxing and might try out a facial. All of her products are organic and her main skincare line is Éminence from Hungary. She said that she talks with her clients about their personal skin types and customizes her facials for each person. Sounds luxurious.

Unfortunately I left without any service received because of the amount of upselling that happens as soon as you walk in the door. One gal was training and very nice but the girl training her told me my spray tan will wash right off if I don't do any of the add-ons. So the "free service" is actually $40+ once they include primer, color stay, undertones, etc. and made me feel like I was wasting my time if I just got the spray tan I came in for. I just moved around the corner and was wanting to try the basic spray tan before purchasing a membership but instead they lost a potential customer. My bf and I were there on vacation from Portland, and Steve took an incredible amount of time taking care of my aches and pains. I've had a long term inflammatory condition, so any massage is an incredible treat. His background in sports medicine really came through...almost as much as his incredible spirit did. I'll never forget returning to our room after the treatment and telling my bf, "Whooooa.. that man is God!!" haha. My body hadn't felt so relieved in such a long time. It meant the world to me. Not only did I find an amazing masseuse, it was almost like finding a new friend. We spoke of travels, herbal medicine, spreading kindness, etc. Having this kind of person work on you is so important. They are providing a gift not only on a physical level, but emotional as well. His energy was so fantastic that I continued to travel to Forest Grove regularly just to see Steve. After a few visits, I treated myself to a facial from Heidi. I am a licensed esthetician myself, so I can be a bit picky about skin care. What an incredibly awesome thing to find that this husband and wife duo are equally fantastic. She is obvously incredibly passionate about skin care, and wants to make sure that you have not only an amazing treatment, but a take away regimen that is going to be right for you. It's tranquil, well decoratied and even right next to a Dutch Bros if you need a pick me up after! They've also got a beautiful website set up now that makes it super easy to schedule. Hand sanitizer is readily available and these measures helped put me at ease. Lola was my hair stylist and I'll definitely be going back to her. She was great! I asked for subtle highlights and a cut and she gave me exactly what I asked for. We had a great time talking about music and hobbies.
