It was not, and the dealer repair quote came to a startling $11,000. They said the compressor and condenser were damaged due to running the system after a hole (from a stone?) had caused all fluid to leak out. The parts and labor are specialized. Venture suggested our making an insurance claim. The adjuster's offer using aftermarket parts was much lower. We chose to have Venture do the repair with aftermarket parts for $2300 (competitive with the insurance offer). They returned the car to us with the interior detailed. Now, a couple of weeks later, the system continues to work reliably. Rich, the owner, is thoughtful and communicative, and kept us apprised of all details concerning the damage and the repair. We have been very happy with this shop and highly recommend them.
