Brought my car here for a sticker. Everyone seemed super friendly at first. Once the inspection started, George yells to my boyfriend from the garage (we were sitting in the shop) that the e-brake is STUCK on engaged and asked how long has it been like that? (It was not like that when we brought it in, our driveway is on a hill, we use the e-brake all the time--but because George pulled the e-brake so incredibly hard, even while the car was in drive, the car wouldn't move because the e-brake was on) in fact, if you even google how this problem happens, its caused by pulling the e-brake too hard which is exactly what he did. My bf goes outside to try and figure out what is going on. Then what I assumed was another worker (I was in the shop waiting) starts talking to my bf at the car (after George just walks away!!!!) this other man tells us about how we shouldn't drive the car, it is very dangerous to drive with the e-brake engaged, he has kids of his own, the car could set on fire, etc. and we should get it fixed right away. This other man "T" said his shop is a few minutes away and he could do the repair for us. In the moment i was so utterly confused by everything going on, I didn't think to question why GEORGE at MIKE'S GAS that we were getting inspection from, didn't even offer to fix what he did!!! My bf was the one talking to George during inspection, and once this problem happened, George pointed to this other guy who happened to be picking his car up from getting inspected as well because George knew this other man was a mechanic as well--wtf??? George told my bf to talk to this other man about getting my car fixed. We realized after the reason George did this was because he was closing at 2:00 and he couldn't be bothered to help us or fix what HE did. The man from the other shop told us afterwards that he even witnessed George pulling the e-brake extremely hard and with all his might, then once stuck he was pulling it over and over again hoping it would release, then when it wouldn't and the e-brake got stuck...George wanted to close up shop for the day and not deal with what he did, he simply put the problem on someone else. "T" asked us once we arrived at his shop and has to drive over with the e-brake on for over 2 miles.. why George didn't even offer to fix it, we had no clue. The other shop was also closed but the man was nice enough to help us out, as we have 1 car and I work 2 jobs so I need my car desperately or I'd be screwed. Now at this other shop T worked on my car for more than 3 hours to fix George's mistake and get the e-brake to disengage for $140. Which GEORGE should he responsible for paying, not me. I assumed in the moment/confusion these 2 shops are affiliated but they're not & by the time I realized what exactly happened it was too late. I called George to ask why he NEVER EVEN OFFERED TO HELP while we were at his shop, we had to drive over 2 miles with the e-brake on which is so bad to do, esp with the new brake pads we just had installed...we had to spend $140 dollars, waste 3+ hours of time for something GEORGE should have offered to fix instead of putting on someone else. What was GEORGE'S answer? To scream at the top of his lungs at us on the phone when we called to question why all this happened...telling us he DID offer to help. (He absolutely did not offer) He referred us elsewhere because he wanted to go home for the day. He said his "lifts were full," he has been in business for a long time, what happened was not his fault, he did not jerk it too hard and because his lifts were full what was he supposed to do?...well George maybe you should ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR MISTAKE and fix my car. I do not recommend coming here. They don't care and I will be reporting this to the BBB and sending MIKE'S GAS a copy of the invoice I had to paid for. GEORGE is unprofessional & this should have never happened if he knew what he was doing!!! I'm so disheartened I was ripped off, and my car now needs a new e-brake too and further repairs when all I wanted was an inspection sticker. read more
