Oil change done in 20 minutes - stopped by the day before to let them know when I planned on coming in.

He knows how to fix anything. I've had different issues with different cars and they always figure it out. Would highly recommend

Pure kindness at this place. A few days ago my son crashed his car and it was towed to John's. It had body damage which they don't do, yet still let us leave the car there until the insurance adjuster could come out and look at it. It took up space in their lot for days. When the adjuster came, he forced open a broken door which was then stuck open. The adjuster left without doing anything to protect the inside of the car, with rain coming. The owner of John's called me to tell me what happened, concerned that the interior of the car was going to get further damaged from the rain. Again - a car they were not even going to be working on - just left in their lot! By the time I got out there with a tarp, the owner had rigged a few garbage bags with tape to protect the inside of the car. Again - on a car they weren't even working on!!! Good service for a fair price. Been getting my inspection sticker here for years. Never tried to sell me any repairs. Recently needed new tires. I stopped in to check the cost. They had what needed and 90 minutes later, I had new tires for less than the chain tire shops. read more

Came in for my initial inspection sticker immediately after purchasing a car at a local dealership. I really like their prices which are fair but they forgot to give me back my wheel locks and now I know if I go back they won't even know what I'm talking about, I rolled over a screw there one time and had to get a plug for my tire, and for some reason every time i get gas there something happens to my car- the engine light came on the last time. Really odd. I'm just more so mad about the wheel locks. read more

I had a slow leak in one of my tires and needed to get it fixed on Saturday morning before going on a road trip. The only place that I found open was Dorchester Tire, but there would over an hour wait and their waiting room was full. I filled my tire up and hoped for the best, but when driving down Morrissey Boulevard i saw John 's Gas and Auto Service and figured I'd give it s shot. Luck was in my side. As they were fully staffed at 8:00 am on Saturday morning and they had my tire fixed in about 10 minutes. Bonus - the price was right AND they were nice guys. SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!!!! This is the 2nd year in a row I've gotten a rejection sticker. The 1st time, my horn wasn't working. I never use it & had no idea. Went back in October, 2018 & got a passing sticker for 3 months. Don't know why, lots of double talk. Ok, I figure he knows what he's talking about. I go back today, January 28, 2019. I get another rejection sticker!!! He said, "emissions". Riiiiiggghhhttttttt............ Blamed it on my new battery, which I replaced the 1st week of September, 2018. So how did it pass the next month???? What happened in 90 days? I'll tell you what. NOTHING!! They blame their computers. Maybe they should be looked at & recalibrated or replaced. I didn't appreciate the condescending attitude because I was a woman alone, especially when 2 of them ganged up on me when I said something fishy was going on. They're known for rejection stickers. Why is that? I told them I will never be back & that they are scam artists, as well as misogynistic. I alerted them to this bad review. He said, Go ahead. They need to be investigated. read more

John's is one of those gas stations that will fill yer tank (full-service only), discounted gas if you pay cash, automotive work and inspection stickers. They take a while to get anything done (lack of employees?) but eventually they get to it. Fair and honest but go in the afternoon after John's woken up. read more

Place is bad news. They rip people off regularly. They say parts need to be replaced when they don't. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY.

I had my alternator replaced. Thereafter, I came back 5 months later because it was a bad alternator. My alternator 4 months later still doesn't work correctly. My car simply won't start unless the battery charger connected to the cables charges it not even regular jumper cables. I spent over $1000.00 that I didn't have the first time I went replacing the alternator and doing other things. I feel as though I was RIPPED OFF! As a woman I thought I could trust this shop but apparently I was given junk yard parts on my car or faulty refurbished parts. Don't waste your money or time here. read more

I live right down the street from here so it's convenient for me to stop and get full service gas (not many full service around here). Without fail, everytime I pull up (on several occassions it's so early in the morning no other cars are there)- either nobody comes out to pump my gas (I typically will wait for about 3 minutes), or they are extremely rude. Today the gas pump guy rudely told me my card was declined, after which I called my bank and they said that a transaction wasn't even attempted, and it certainly was never declined. I'm not sure how the automotive repair is, but their customer service is TERRIBLE!! read more

They steal gas. The older guy in the morning shaves a dollar at least. Check what you ask and pay and what is given...... he laughs when you call him out for it. I asked three straight days for ten bucks... he gave nine.
