I dropped it off and picked it up in a few hrs. Dave told me he cleaned out the throttle and wanted to go this route before replacing things that may not be needed (something I totally agree with) After $80 (cleaned and recalibrated) my car runs great. The light hasn't come back on, and the idle seems to be really steady. I would recommend these guys to everyone. Now, be aware that this is a Chinese owned and run mechanic shop. Don't let that deter you though. There are a few guys that speak fluent English, and the prices and worksmanship can't be beat. There have been only a couple questionable issues over the years. Nothing to stop using him for or to write a yelp/google review about though. I would have suggested his shop to anyone up until last week. My Jetta has had 3 or 4 different issues in the last 3 months, suspension, exhaust and brakes..... Darren always provides a quote over the phone before work being done so I can ok it. This past week I asked for a quote on brakes. He had told me when I got my suspension fixed a few months earlier that they were going to be my next issue. He told me on the phone that brakes and rotors for the entire car would cost me about $900 dollars. He said the price could rise if he found there was anything wrong with the calibers. I asked how much he said he would not know until he looked at the car. Because this was my first brake job I called around to compare. I called a mechanic shop in Braintree and the nice gentleman explained that it too should only cost $900 dollars and calibers were not typically a needed fix but it would be around $125 for each caliber but in his 15 years he had never seen all 4 calibers needed to be fixed at once. The VW dealership quoted me $1300 over the phone. So, naturally I went with Darren. When I called Darren to get the final price a few days later he stated $1400 dollars. I was shocked. I said you said $900 where did $1400 come from? Did you have to replace calibers. He said no kind of laughed and said its $1400. When I picked it up he said to come back later in the week for an invoice. This is not a way to treat return customers. Thats $500 more than quoted and I still have no invoice to see why the massive jump? I called him back today to ask for more detail and why it was so much and he said he will strip the brakes and I can go somewhere else. So I called the other Braintree mechanic they still said $900. I called Darren back he said $500 to strip the car. I stated that we had worked with him for over 10 years and this feels like robbery and poor customer service treatment. He was yelling at me. I said you are not a nice guy. Don't use DW Auto!

Since I was near the Neponset Bridge exit, i decided to go Hancock St to see if anyone was open since it was 5:45 PM on a Saturday. Most places were closed so i continued on Hancock St. hoping to get closer to home on a rapidly flattening tire. At 5:55 PM, I saw the garage doors open. Sam, the owner, welcomed me in, put my auto on his lift and was able to repair my tire. He stayed open just for me and my repair as he was planning on closing at 6:00PM. I also filled up with gas. This 25 year old owner is special as well as honest. He charged his regular fee and I was able to go on my way and he was then able to close up shop. Bravo Sam

I figured that the slow oil leak finally gave out with the cold weather and the gasket blew in the engine. I honestly figured I would be scrapping my car today. After walking over and talking to one of the mechanics, Jerry. He told me to pull my car around and he would check it out for me today and give me a call if it's fixable or not worth it (I told him I didn't really want to put money into the car). He said they were super busy today but he will squeeze me in. Once I got there he asked if I could hang for a few min to diagnose the car and checked it out immediately. After lifting the car and checking everything they realized it was a clogged oil filter. It was so clogged that oil wasn't passing through and some of it was leaking everywhere. When they removed it I think a few of the guys got covered in oil (I kinda felt bad to be honest but they all laughed it off). Because oil got everywhere they also proceeded to clean underneath my car with some foam stuff and then ran it a little to burn what was left off. They were incredibly funny, helpful, patient, personable and honest. I spoke mostly to Jerry and the gentleman inside at the register who was also amazing. Even though I live 30 min from here and they helped me in a pinch, I will definitely bring my car back if anything else goes wrong. Service was incredible.
