I will reiterate as I mentioned in my original review that I personally never come here myself because I hate pumping my own gas. There are plenty of other nuisance chores that I have no trouble doing but as long as I can find a gas station with attendants I will gladly pay more to have someone else do the filling. That said, my husband disagrees with me and he appreciates the lower prices here so if I am with him, we sometimes end up here and he fills the car up. It is still difficult to get in and out the station as it abuts a busy rotary and the way the pumps are so closely situated to one another it can be a nightmare to get in and out of the station. It's an accident waiting to happen. We have been here twice in recent months and both times there were problems with the pumps...once the pump would not release the credit card and another time, the pump ended up having to be adjusted by the person inside the little convenience store so that it would function. Often times you are unable to get a receipt without going into the store as they seem to not do a great job of refilling the receipt paper at the pump. One of the complaints from others in my town with which I heartily agree is that this gas station sits on a prime piece of property which is literally across from beautiful Hingham Harbor. We have enough gas stations in town and would love to see this place go away and become something more attractive and fitting the location. It would be a great spot for a small specialty shop, bakery, sandwich shop etc...anything but yet another gas station with a crummy convenience store. I wish Massachusetts was a state like New Jersey and Oregon where pump-it-yourself gas stations are illegal. NJ and Oregon rightly believe that since fuel is flammable, it's best to leave the job of pumping it to an attendant. Having gas stations served by attendants also creates jobs. So one star for lower gas prices and that's all this place gets. Ditch the music and ads blaring out of the pumps please. PS There is nothing in the depressing convenience store that anyone really needs (in my opinion) but junk food and overpriced odds and ends.

I did and then realized it had a small hole in it that I had to plug with my finger. Into this group I put owners of gas stations. Enter this Shell station in Quincy. It's on our local rotation of 3 stations where we gas up our cars. Other than being away from home, these are the only 3 places to which I go. Jack, the owner of this Shell station is a great guy. My husband got to know him first as this is the place he brings our vehicles for the annual Massachusetts inspections that are required. The gas station is big with easy in and out access from Route 3A. It is a full service gas station. I wish Massachusetts was like New Jersey in outlawing self-serve. I hate pumping gas and hate being next to bozos who are pumping their own gas while smoking cigarettes. Prices are good with a full-serve option and you get your windshields cleaned to boot. Everyone working here is polite and professional. Yesterday I got my car inspected. There are several bays so there was no wait. It took all of 10 minutes and off I went with my new sticker. I know if I had an issue with my car, Jack and his workers would appraise the situation honestly, take care of it or advise me on what I should do. I'm happy to have these caring professionals on the South Shore.

There was no apology, no explanation, and no slightest mentioning of reprimanding or to re-train his workers of safety protocols. Not to mention, his employees appear to be high school kids who probably either not even valid to work or know the rules because when I got out of the car, the kid who was dispensing the gas, got really scared and took off to the back. Unbelievable. I will never bring my business there again!
