Herbie's Car Wash - Going through the car wash - Car Wash Near Me - Weymouth, Massachusetts

They are no longer touchless like they used to be and they only have 1 bay now but still a great car wash. Love the towel dry at the end. I always make sure to tip b/c those guys are out there rain or shine and they do a great job drying, leaving no streaks. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the actual bay length is so short! Your car is barely in there for 3 min. Other than that, one of the best car washes on the SS. read more

Great experience!! It's great to have a car wash that ACTUALLY washes your car. The team takes the time to wash/rinse the tough spots before entering the car wash. I also greatly appreciated the gentleman who dried my car extremely thoroughly. Keep up the amazing work! I will definitely be back!! read more

As an update - my last experience was a disappointing one. I guess it depends on what brings you in to the car wash. For a little salt and dirt, you're probably fine - for remnants of road trips, not so much. After a roadtrip to Buffalo and back (in the fall), my car was covered with the remnants of insects that thought a 3,000 vehicle traveling at highways speeds was a match for them. I decided to give the system at Herbie's a try to restore my car to its former, bug-free glory. I was disillusioned that while some bugs were cleaned off, others remained. When I got home, I got out the Windex and paper towels, and two buckets of elbow grease. I mean... if the pressures at Herbie's were insufficient for getting these bugs off - I wonder what's needed from me? As it turned out, all it took was two drops of grease per elbow, and the bugs came right off. I realize if I want my car literally shimmering, there are detail services. However, when it comes to something as simple as bugs, I would hope an automatic car wash would be able to accomodate. The last thing I want to do is to have to further wash my car because a car wash did an incomplete job. read more

Great crew with attention to detail. Price is in line with other car washes. Staff is friendly and thorough! read more

I am so disappointed since they reopened. I went here at LEAST 3 times a month before they remodeled. Their major draw was that they were touchless. Now it is not touchless. There also used to be 3 bays! Now its down to 1. They barely have time to dry off your car because there is no longer room at the end and the next car is coming out. Their prices are also outrageous for what you get now, I am assuming to pay for the remodel and lost money for being closed so long. I unfortunately probably won't be back because I can't afford it for what it is. read more

Best car wash on the South Shore. Had a drop of pine sap in the middle of the windshield. Gentleman got off step ladder, got a razor blade, and made sure it was gone. It's the little things employees do that make your business awesome. read more

Not sure how many other Herbies car wash customers had gift cards when it abruptly closed for renovations. When the car wash reopened, I was told you need to contact the office in order to use the remaining balance. The worker took my name and number. Problem is no one returns phone call or emails. I called numerous times (more than 5 and the one in person) and left my phone number to call back. I have over 100 dollars in my old acct and no way to get it back. Is anyone in the same boat? Same owners they should honor these old accts. Gave it 1 star for the customer service or lack of customer service!!!! Please add on your comments this is not right! read more

they scratched my car twice. It seems that the guys who wipe your car down at the end are not changing their wiping cloths frequently enough. Because if you wipe 100 cars with the same cloth, you're gonna scratch someone's car. read more

This WAS my favorite car wash ever, hands down. It was a touch free wash that actually got the car clean. I waited so patiently for it to reopen, and am so disappointed. It's now a regular touch car wash with "soft" cloth... same as most other touch car washes. It did a good job but as always those will wear down or get dirty and damage the paint. There is also only 1 bay now instead of 3, so if you thought the line was bad before wait until this summer. Thankfully they still have towel dry and a very nice staff which is why I didn't give less stars. Whoever planned this new layout made some very unfortunate business decisions especially since we already have decent touch washes, even one new less than a mile away. I'm sad for them, and for my car. Much easier to resist spending $30 on a wash but I'll be there to support a local family and their staff occasionally. read more

I miss the old Herbies. I went out of my way to go there because it was touchless. The new one is no longer touchless and on top of that the price is outrageous. If you still want touchless, there is one further south in Rt 18 in Whitman read more

So I turned to Yelp to find a place to get my brand new 2013 vehicle washed. I mean, my just-replaced 1999 Buick was dearly loved but I really wasn't too concerned about the outward appearance there. New car = new car wash. And I'm completely happy with Herbie's. First, purchase your car wash online beforehand. You can purchase a number of washes or a dollar value ahead of time at a 25%+ savings. No brainer there. Once you arrive, pull around to the back of the building. There are 3 docks, each of which have an automated payment device where you pick your service and swipe your card (or punch in your code if you followed my earlier advice). As you're doing this, 1 or 2 guys come around and scrub down the rims and lower areas of the car. Once instructed by the automated system, pull into the washing bay. There are no tracks to follow (which inevitably scrape up your rims), just pull right in. If you're getting an undercarriage wash, pull in slowly as this is done on entering. Once you're in park the touchless system goes to work, supplemented by an attendant who dances with the machine to get the spots where machine just can't reach. After a couple minutes, the system's air dries your vehicle and you're instructed to pull out. Once out another attendant or two (or three) will hand dry the tough to reach places. Once dried off, you have the option to pull up to some vacuums or just drive off. So far I've had pretty good experiences. Nothing is perfect-- I have noticed a couple spots around the sideview mirrors that were left dirty. And even after the hand treatment there are a couple droplets of water remaining-- But that said, I'm just nitpicking the best carwash experience I've had so far. read more

Wow! This is place is amazing!! I loved it!! A brushless carwash that gets towel dried at the end by some pretty fine looking men. I can't say I'm complaining by any means!!! I've never seen this kind of car wash before. You drive up but your money in a very cool state of the art talking machine. You pick what you want and it talks you through the steps. Then a man comes by and scrubs your wheels and this very nice computer generated lady is telling you what the car in front of you is getting right now through each step..it's really very cool...Then you pull up and just park and this big monsterous machine goes back and forth and washes your car not once..but TWICE! oh..yes it's heaven I tell you..I loved it! They also have vacuums and a very cool vending machine outside that's full of armor all, wipes and air freshners..It's really a pretty cool place. I will not go anywhere else for now on..I love it here.. read more

Our car was disgusting after driving unpaved roads in western mass during mud season. Not to mention the birds seem to target our car for their business. The crew at Herbie's did an excellent job making our car shine like new (despite it being almost a decade old). Best car wash we've gotten. No scratches, all shine. Tip your crew with cash, there are hard times. read more

This is by far the best car wash I've ever been to. I'm very picky about going to touchless car washes because I've had horrible stories with going to regular car washes with massive plastic flaps and brushes. I also hate going to car washes where I have to steer my driver side wheels into a narrow path. The sound of the screeches and banging noises against my car absolutely scare me. Herbie's car wash is the opposite. Once I pulled up before the bay, someone comes over to spray the wheels and rinse the car. Then he guided me with which options they offer and he helped me input it into the machine. Afterwards, I drove inside the bay and the touchless wash begins. While the machine is running, the same worker is also INSIDE the bay scrubbing my car with cloths. Once the machine is done, I drove forward to a spot and the worker dried my car with towels. He was extremely thorough. I was super impressed. This was also done in 90 degree weather in July. The workers take their jobs seriously. I got the full package wash (the works for $16), and it was the best car wash ever. I'm very glad I found this place. read more

The quality of the car wash itself is great. New wash equipment, car is quite clean after the wash, and the attendants do a nice job hand washing hard to reach spots and hand drying after the wash. The only problem here is the never have enough wash bays open and due the the "batch" nature of the wash, rather than a conveyor system, the wait can be very very long. Open more bays! You have them, USE them! read more

Best car wash on the South Shore, maybe even the whole Bston area!! Nick - if you ask them not to, they won't touch your car. The hand wash is with soft towels and doesn't scatch. Herbie's Car Wash - Car Wash Near Me - Weymouth, Massachusetts

This place is awful. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. Took the car in and when it was done, there was still bird shit on my car. When I asked to wash it again, because I don't think the washer pressure was working correctly; he wanted me too pay another 15.00. His response fell very short of being professional. The bird shit that remained on my card represent the service they offered. Don't bother, I rather grab a hose and clean it myself. read more

This is a decent car wash. Having moved recently from Chicago and New Jersey, I am finding that the car washes in Greater Boston are a little different from I was used to. This is basically a car wash one would find along with a gas station but is fancier. One pulls up to the kiosk that is located at he entrance of the bay (there are three bays here) and pays. Cash and credit cards are accepted. After payment, one is prompted to enter the bay. But before doing so, a couple of attendants will brush down your wheels with soapy water. If selected, the undercarriage spray is applied as one enters the bay. Enter slowly if you want to maximize the spray. The prompter inside the washing bay will prompt you to stop once the car is in position. The touchiness mechanism will start... After the first coat of soap/suds is applied, an attendant came into the bay and started hand cleaning or lathering up the car (especially Windows). I wasn't expecting this and didn't necessarily see this with the car before mine. This was a good thing as I think it helped with getting a lot of the salt off my car. After the rinse cycle, the blow dryers start and get most the car dry. You pull out of the bay and another attendant or two will hand dry the car. One can then use the complimentary vacuums at the end of the lot to do clean the inside. I tipped the guy who hand dried my car.... I usually tip between $3 and $5 depending on the degree of dirtiness, time of day and job done. I purchased a five pack of the works (the was that has everything), and think it a good deal. The location is a bit far from where I live but close to the gym I go to. I used the drive down Route 3 to further dry off my car :-) read more

Great Service. I miss the hand car wash services from Chicago but this is the best and closest variation I've run across. They pre-treat tough areas and hand dry. They also offer complimentary bottles of water on hot summer days. Also, I prepurchased washes and my husband accidentally threw away the receipt. I called and they were happy to look up my transaction using information I gave them on the date/time from my bank accound and I was able to retrieve my un-used washes. Definitely great service--above & beyond. I'm a happy customer. read more

There are very few places I am willing to drive to in the South Shore from Lexington but this is one of them. Most of the reviews tell most of the story about this great car wash. One thing that appears to be omitted is that the employees come into the touch-less car wash area and help the automated car wash by hand rubbing the pre-treat soap on most of the car including the roof and the windshields! Seems insane but it is part of the entire Herbie's Car Wash package. The employees do a great job of pre-treating the wheels by washing them with a soapy slurry and large brush, and towel drying the car after the wash. I've seen these guys out there in some very cold temperatures and they are always smiling. Thank you so very much! read more

A decent car wash but prices keep rising. That said, for the price you are paying your rims will never get cleaned. Your car will be clean but they totally neglect the rims.
